Haha no worries man. This was my first time into a multi monitor setup and was clueless on it. I have all 3 monitors running on 2 8800 gtx's. Unfortunately, you have to disable sli when it comes to multimonitor setups. (1) 24 and (1) 17 is cool. I just prefer 3 so that it doesn't look uneven. When I bought the 2 side monitors, I made sure their vertical dimensions are almost flush with the center. Yea, I know, I'm picky :)

I've had dual 20" monitors at some work assignments, but never at home. I'm pretty picky as well, though I've been more concerned with pixel pitch than sheer dimensions. Dimensions matter a lot though as well, and I think that 3:4 17" and 4:3 20" are probably the closest I'll see to matching the vertical height of my 24".

As far as pixel pitch goes though, only 24" WUXGA monitors have 0.27mm pitch as far as I can tell, but I'm definitely open to possibilities. For instance, your setup. I like your setup, a lot.

How is text sizes compare between the 17" and 24" LCDs? That would be my biggest concern if text was sized much differently.

I only have on GPU right now, and I don't have another PCIe x16 slot in my motherboard. So if I move to a tri-monitor system I'll have to pick up a cheap PCIe x4 or x1 GPU to "manage" with the 3rd display.

You'll find my system details in my signature shortly.

I have this same desk, but ended up getting the "T" style legs. I would get the "A" style like you if given a second chance. The "T" style is kind of a pain to keep flush and move among three legs.

Yeah and the A style was cheaper so I opted to that.

I believe you can swap out just the legs since our tables are fully customizable. You should call up ikea and just buy the A legs and swap them out.

Text sizes are fine. I use this setup for work. I do a lot of computer modeling and the side panels are mostly for reference photo's or for webpages. So they come up fine.

So apparently a 0.27mm and 0.264mm pixel pitch between the two aren't that big of a difference. Sweet.

I'm definitely considering this set up. I'm going to be looking for some 17" LCD deals in the mean time...thank you!

@j1zzn1t,

Love that desk man, where'd you get that bookshelf? That lighting is nice...

-Nokia 8801, not a bad phone. Used it for years, broke it on warranty, they sent me my Nokia 8600 Luna... it's very nice but the 8801 has the luxurious classy feel to it cause of the stainless steel... man I miss that phone haha.

Oh my! You've got the desk from Office Max! I LOVE that thing, but I am dead broke and don't have any money. You've even got the little side cart...:(

How do you like it?

Love it. But I will tell you, it weighs so damn much I needed a second person to help me stand it up. Reason being, it's already put together (that's why it's part of their EZ line of furniture) so all you do is fold out the legs and you're done. The matching piece is also already assembled w/just the wings needing to be unfolded. It really does come together with the cherry wood, steel and leather combined.

Price: let's not talk about that one lol! :)

thanks bud. The shelf is from ikea also, i pretty much got everything u see in the photo there.

love my 8801, no phone seems to come close to the weight and overall craftsmanship of that phone. Plus you can't beat the classy high class feel/look of it. It's a must if you have a nice watch on your wrist!

Does anybody have a photo of a 17" 4:3 against 20" &/or 22" widescreens for comparison? I'm thinking of upgrading but can't envisage how big each will be...

Agreed, the "A" frames are cheaper, more adjustable, better looking (mine are chrome), and can mount to any table top (mine is topped with black melamine). Add Ikea's cable management trays and you'll have a great workspace for less than $200. I'll post pics when I finally receive my NEC.

Apex32 love the Polks love the STI to bad its the whack new hatchback "GAG" ...they looks so bad now.

My setup has changed since I posted last on page 332. Here is an update, I will post again in a couple of days as I have just had a daughter and my son stole my computer room to make room for my baby girl.

Nice setup, darkhunter! Is that the new LG L227WTG-PF? I was thinking about getting that monitor. How well does it perform on gaming in your opinion?

Thanks!

Yeah its the new LG L227WTG

I got it at bestbuy two days ago for $290 (Its on sale right now)

Its amazing! I had two samsungs that I had to return because of dead pixels, this one had no dead pixels and looks way better. Gaming on it is awesome too.

God yes, I know what you mean. You feel all sleek and sexy like James Bond with that phone lmao. +1egoboost from a phone. Too bad I broke mine... I loved that thing - but they did send me the Nokia 8600 - Upgraded version of it. Instead of Stainless Steel, it has glass on the phone... I guess after two months of having the phone I had the "It's just a phone" attitude, and dropped it like 5 times already... usually I'm SO careful with my phone, never gets a single scratch but jeesh, now it's getting busted up :(

yeah, i can't seem to bring myself to like other phones out right now, the plastic just gets to me. Mebbe once the iphone gets 3g i'll be able to get one for the daily.

That actually is the phone that they had on transporter 2 isnt it? Where he opened up his glovebox and had a stash of like five of them!

Any Chance you go to ISU and live in Freddy Court? Reason I ask, your room and desk are the exact same as mine!!

yuuuup - I'm graduating this May

Ooh, the 10-22 is the next lens I want to get, but I just bought 2 new lenses and a body so I'm broke! What body are you shooting with?

I've got a 20D that I got refurbished from Canon last summer.
