The Bigger The Better ?

I think iknow what you mean. ;) But i would not recommend this kind of radiator.

Evo 1800? Does AC still make these?

How about putting up the links to the Mod My Machine here?

Not yet, but I think I smell a thread lock and a few people getting vacations from the [H]ardForum.

Thread lock maybe. Vacation, eh. This is the first time I've ever done anything "wrong" per se on [H]. It's a steamed debate, things get out of hand (obv). My apologies.

They typically are, but if you are used to an Aquastream or other Eheim pump you will think any of the DDC's are annoyingly loud.

I'll let you know how that goes in a couple weeks. My eheim is almost 5 years old (still runs fine, too!!!) and when it was new, it was utterly and totally silent (as long as I didn't put it in direct contact with the case). It's getting quite a hum now. I went 12V bigbore because .. well, that's how i'm rolling this one.

If you change the impeller or bearing I bet that hum will go bye-bye.

Thanks man. STFU you're making me miss it. Nah, I modded the case totally from scratch. Bought a stock PC-7B, then a windowed panel, then it went on from there.

Nah, I was using them as an example. They're someone elses.

Know of any sites on this side of the pond where I might be able to find a bearing or impeller?

Gotta be cheaper than a new pump!

I think Wes at Sharka said he could get me those kind of parts if I wanted them. Otherwise Google is your friend and there are lots of Aquarium shops that stock these kinds of parts.

IBTL!

If you boys are getting them out,

AquaComputer - Cuplex XT, Twinplex, X1900 Aquagratix (x2), hard drive coolers (x2).

Smaller bore is just more, elegant IMO. Excellent temps are achievable with small bore, low flow and AC blocks. I would prove it if I could my temp monitoring program to work in Vi$ta goddamit.

Love the overall look even though I'm not a fan of its components. Someone here needs to say "someone has set us up with the bomb"... reminds me of a nuclear device on "24"

I think I just died and went to heaven. :D :D :D

There's a computer in there? LOL.

Without a doubt, that setup has got to take the  prize!

Ranker, I knew you had something good to say about AC! ;)

Top Nurse, from you, the Queen of Perfectionism, that is more than a compliment!

The way I see it, everyone one has their own reason for picking their weapon of choice. The arguments start when we use them for war (who's got the better overclock, temps, looks, blah blah), and that war heats up every once and a while. We hate it when other folk 'dis our choice, it's human nature.

You trying to show us up Erasmus? :p

For a large bore it's passable. J/k, very nicely executed.

See, we have stopped arguing, if for a brief moment!

Did you see the price of those Iwaki impellers.

Crapped myself on those.

$135 for an impeller. never mind the housing or anything else.

$22 for the Eheim one is reasonable.

I'll probably buckle that up tonight when I get home. I can't take my wallet out in the cleanroom.

None of those have anything on this http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=813371

Best, most elegant set up I have ever seen.

But but but Erasmus...they'll say it's ugly because it has "garden hose" tubing!

But yes, a VERY clean and well thought out build. Here are some of my favorites:

3 years?! C'mon TN, get a move on! By the time you get it done, the computer (less the WC stuff) will be totally obsolete!:p

I know what she means though. Often, your own personal machine is a reflection of your craftsmanship and work you put into it. I've spent 2 months building this machine and I keep finding ways to add things and redo entire loops. I haven't been satisfied and probably won't be until another 4 months down the line when everything's finally "perfect". At that point the cycle begins again with the purchase of new hardware. (I usually upgrade twice a year). I believe this is one of the few things TN and I may see eye to eye on.
