Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Here is a tip, if you want to devote yourself to comptuers and tech, then don't marry! lol.

This tip matches well with my own "equation of eternal happiness" that declares the following:

No wife/girlfriend + No kids/pets = Freedom to spend all my $$ on ME!!!! :D

Nice setup Sandman2236 looks real sick :) . My buddy has the same desk and it is very thick glass i dont think it will be a problem. Glass is suprizingly strong when it comes to pressures like that.

After a few weeks of throwing out crap and making some space in my room I now have a shiny new desk and a Dell 2407WFP.

This is the first LCD I have ever owned and i gotta say it kicks ass!! I got more desktop space than I know what to do with.

Add to that I got a Pantone Huey coloromiter which has made the colours look even better than they were out of the box. Tomorrow morning i'm gonna install my new TV tuner card so that I finally have a replacement for the TV that used to be in here.

Will post some pics tomorrow. Happy Days:D

Clean (not a great pic though)

...

USB cord for phone was run along custom brackets along the underside of the bezel of the desk, Macbook Pro cords (sound, 2 usb, magsafe and dvi) were stealthed against the Elevator stand. And I moved the HD595's around the corner towards the bed.

What stand is that for the MBP?

Don't worry, I've stressed tested it, and confirmed the weight limit on the desk ^_^ And if it breaks. Well, lets just say I get to buy a bigger sturdier desk :D

Haha.

ROFL! nice... nice chair BTW.. I have one also.. whew.. nothing like it. :)

Yes. Once you sit on it, nothing else feels the same.

Yep. You wouldn't believe how much money it frees up. No need for shoes, clothes, or other pointless jewlery things, lol.

This is why I posted this not too long ago...take a look

Looks like a few peoples desks shattered for no reason, some with very expensive toys on them :) This is the reason why I avoid this desk, last thing I want is a 3007wfp wedged halfway into my case.

Man, that's just painful...

I had a glass desk many years ago, but within two weeks it developed one of those ever expanding spider web cracks under my old 20" LCD. After returning the desk I discovered IKEA and became a Jerker convert and am now in love with my Galant desk.

Yeah, I am too a Jerker Junkie.

Had a move round with 2 more LCDs (far-left & far-right)

I like your shelf media system (that associated with two brown body speakers).. Would you mind if I ask which brand / model?

Thanks in advance~ :)

Speakers are Sony SSMB-250H, £60 brand new about 3-4 years ago. Amplifier is an Aurex SB-A10. Aurex was Toshiba's 'premium' hi-fi range in the 70's, & the SB-A10 was one of the first 'micro' systems - but unlike modern micro systems, these things have huge toroidal transformers in the base & can easily drive 75W continuous 100W peak - their size is seriously disguising! The top one belonged to my late grandfather & I snapped the bottom one up on ebay as a spare (they're both set-up because I was at one point going to get a second set of speakers). Black unit at the bottom is just a cheap modern Sansui radio tuner. Shuttle plugs into the amp, obviously.

There is a matching tuner & tape deck (which I own), but what I really want is the power amp version - it comes as a unit similar to the SB-A10 which is just a pre-amp, then a double height unit that houses the power amplification - that thing must be capable of over 200W peak, but I've only once seen one on ebay in Germany & didn't have the money at the time.

wewt for xmas lights.
Fairy lights ftw! They give such a nice gentle orange glow on the desks to work at night.

wtf is that colorful worm thing?
It's a plush colourful worm.... 'thing' is the best word. It makes a good wrist-rest.

Thanks for info.
Back to my childhood, my family had huge audio system which I don't remember what brand they were. My dad used to enjoy classic on them. Since my current place is not great for having such powerful audio system, however I am so looking forward in near future~!

I feel your pain, I'm living in a flat of 6 but luckily I have the only solid wall between me & them, but I still can't turn it up much more than whisper quiet before somebody complains... I just play the 'THX I love big speakers' if I want to really piss them off;)

wow, I have that same Aurex integrated amp! It's from circa early 80's.
Oh yeah? Well I have two, nyo~ One of mine is early 80's (serial beginning 99) & the other is late 70's (serial beginning 09). Wonderful little amps.

I won one of those worm "things" at a county fair like 7 years ago....best damn plush toy ever

best damn plush toy ever
Amen. Okay so it's the only one I own, other than the novelty bat that hangs upside down from a pin in the bulletin board.

EDIT: how I spend long nights before assignments are due in;

As promised here are some pics of my new setup - need to do some cable management badly!

I took the top shelf off the desk so that I could push the monitor back a few more inches.

He's right man, if you put the sub on the floor and face it at the wall you will get a small boost in bass. Leave some space between the wall and sub though.

Got my new E228WFP, but I'm not totally happy, so I might return it, and pay extra and get the 2407WFP.

heres the backlight bleed, but it is so noticable in the picture, but during movies and stuff you can't even notice it.

Backlight%20bleed.JPG

And heres the reason I'm not happy, its a 6 bit TN panel, and in order to produce 16.2m colors it uses dithering to make that happen, which in turn, makes everything dark look like a checker board but instead of being white and black, its black and grey.

During game, surfing, ANYTHING but movies, this monitor is more than perfect for me, but being such a huge movie/tv show fan most of my time is spent watching movies, but if all the darks are like this, I am really not happy.

Why not return it and grab the 2407 then ? If you dislike this as much as it seems you do
then send it back and save up a little more $$.Then buy something better with a true 8 bit
panel...

At the moment tho, there are no 8 bit 22" WS that I can find (the 226BW only have the C model available at the stores in NZ) and I don't want to go down to the 20".

Damn why can't the 2407WFP be cheaper!!!

My new setup. Gateway FPD2485W on the main system, and the classic Viewsonic VP191b on the linux box.

You set your res at native? Coz your icons are massif:eek:

Also what keyboard is that? The one on the left that is..

@~LoKe and SomeoneElse
ok i put the sub on the floor

@those transformers are 16 years old and yes...rattled sometimes :)

The sub of the Logitech X230 is stupidly over-balanced with the satellites when it's set to minimum, let alone when you use the wall trick!
