Zen 3 Launch Availability

When will it be possible to buy a Zen 3 cpu without using a bot or paying Scalper rates?

I ended up paying extra to get a 5600x from amazon ..
Depending on how much extra, it's almost worth it to me. I almost did, when you factor in the 4 hour total drive, probably stopping for a meal, etc...+$50-$75 to get one off Amazon ain't such a bad deal.

What if the shortage of 5000 cpus is to clear out the remaining 3000 cpu supply?
Doubt it. Wouldn't they have cut prices, at least a little, on the 3000 series? Retailers only have so much shelf space, they wouldn't want to hang onto inventory that's not selling any longer than they have to.

Maybe when Rocket-Lake hits the market...if we see 5000 series in stock EVERYWHERE at MSRP...you may be on to something.

AMD.com had 5800x last week for a couple days at MSRP.
I saw that and thought, "figures they come back into stock when I have been out of work for a month." Same thing happened last year with an Asus RTX3090 Strix. I had money set aside and then family needed some financial help. Soon after, I had the opportunity to get the card and no money.

I have had a B550 MSI Mortar for a while now with a Ryzen 3100 I picked up close to MSRP and selling it will cover the extra .. now I have to wait for a 6700 XT or put my RX 5700 with it .. just a RX 570 at the moment , It came Fed Ex with - in 2 days and I didn't pay for that service which was $384 shipped

I bought a 5600X from Newegg the other day for retail. There was only 4 in stock when I saw it immediately hit Apple Pay lol.. Third party was selling for 200 above retail. I hope all of those shit bag stores die when the world goes back to normal.

So I thought I'd share this with you all still looking for the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU. Newegg has stock at MSRP selling and shipping from them at 9:20pm Pacific Tuesday night...right this minute! Thanks. Out!

I'm not saying it will happen tomorrow, but AMD.com has been releasing stock for 5900x and 5950x around 10:30 am to 11 am central time on Thursdays the last couple of weeks. So be on the lookout during those times tomorrow.

You guys are lucky! In Europe, we have no such option to buy directly from AMD. We just get shown list of local dealers!!!!

5600x and 5800x now available at SRP...

Even the 3rd gen CPUs are now at their launch SRP ;D

5900x available at "only" $200 above SRP. Maybe SRP in another month?

I have been able to find the 5600X and 5800X at MSRP without issue for the past few weeks. I have been tempted to purchase the 5800X because it has the right amount of cores and low latency. I just do not want to spend $310 to $410 on a new motherboard.

I have two of these running 5600X's with the bios option to enable SAM support for gen4 graphics available in bios. Haven't tested yet as new vid cards are redonkulous right now but bios has the option. My 6900xt is in a loop or I would test it. Those boards can be flashed with no proc installed to support 5000 series and $115.....

First I've seen them on Amazon at MSRP ready to ship.
*edit*
And 5600X & 5800X are now on sale at Microcenter w/ mainboard bundle. Amazing mentally how much better the 5800X looks with a $429 next to it.

If you watch AMD Direct Buy on Thursdays at 10-11AM central, you can snag a 5900x or even 5950x at MSRP + tax. They have been dropping pretty much every week and it's been pretty easy to get one.

Thanks for the heads up. Mostly drops on thursdays? Or should I be watching pretty much every day at 10-11AM?

Seems to be Tues and Thurs mornings are best bets for direct buy.

I can't comment on Tuesdays. I haven't seen anything on Tuesdays and I'm usually watching stock checkers for Best Buy GPU drops anyways. I've seen them most on Thursdays, usually 10-11AM central, possibly a little later than that sometimes but no later than noon. I can say that they have dropped on Thursday for at least 4 weeks in a row now. Probably even longer than that, I just wasn't prioritizing CPU drops over GPU drops before then.

Anyone hear if AMD will be releasing 'XT' versions of the 5xxx series? I want to upgrade from the 3700x while I can still sell it but would prefer to just upgrade my system to the last of the AM4 CPUs before the new platform comes in.

I'm guessing the 5950x is going to be the highest CPU available. They didn't make an "XT" version of the 3950.

5900X -- Hopefully I can get one tonight :] (well, morning for you US folks)

Make sure when you load the direct buy site, you refresh the actual product page. If you just look at the page that has all the listings, they sometimes don't update and say in-stock. If you go to the actual 5900x page and refresh there, it will let you cart it if they are available.

So far, the product site is sending me to the page that has all the listings.

Been refreshing since the last 3 hours XD. Hope I get lucky today haha. If not, I may be tempted to grab a scalper unit

Thanks for the info though on camping out today online, worth a shot.

If you don't get one today, i'd maybe wait and try next week too. There's the added struggle of the 6700xt launch today, so that may have some effect on normal stock.

Currently showing add to cart instead of OOS but won't seem to add. Hmmm maybe the bots got to them first haha

The 5950X did that too but is now OOS. The 5900X is still showing add to cart but won't really add :/
