Your GPU progression?

It all started with the Diamond Stealth:

From there:
Voodoo
Voodoo II
Voodoo 5500 (anyone remember the "T" buffer? )

no Rampage... :(

so I switched to nVidia for a Geforce2 GTS

Then my first ATI with the 9500 pro

8800 GT

and now my current GTX 275

Yup, all that and then I stopped PC gaming and haven't looked back. I used to spend tons of money each year on upgrading my desktop. Now, since November 2006, I haven't spent anything.

Voodoo 2
Geforce 256 (i think... I was young haha)
Geforce 2GTS (again I can't quite remember but I'm pretty sure)
Geforce 4 Ti 4200 (Golden Sample OC'd) (It was gold, I was like 12, I thought I was the shiz)
Geforce 6800GT 256MB (my choice, carefully researched, great card)
GeForce 8800GTS 640MB (again my choice, waited till the architecture change and boom! Best card and longest lasting so far!)

My 8800GTS is still chugging along. Although It's going to have an easier life inside the girlfriends computer once I get a 460 1GB.

These are from my "main machine". Around the time geforce emerged, I started owning multiple machines so friends could come play without hauling their machines around. So, lots of these cards, I owned multiples.

Around this time, I was pissed at SLI. I ended up selling all of my computers and vowing to use consoles ONLY for my gaming needs. I bought 4 xbox 360s for my computer room. This lasted 6 months, and I started buying computer hardware again. I swore I was done with high end hardware, and started up slowly...

Dude, there are a hundred of these threads. I'm loling right now b/c of how many times people have made them. The search bar is there for a reason. ;)

i had some pretty significant jumps with mine because i first had an ati 9200se, then jumped to a 7800gs, then bam! gtx 480.
i really was looking for a gtx 580, but after reading the forums it seems like its basically a gtx 485. so ill just wait for the gtx 680. lol

Note: I've always run 2 PCs at a time, and sometimes I would buy 2 GPUs from the same generation, but nowadays it's mostly 1 card from each gen.

Next one will be either a Cayman XT/Pro or 580/570 by the end of this year depending on Cayman's price, perf and availability.

This is tough, as I really can't remember the specifics before the Geforce 2.

Mix of various stuff
Geforce 2 Ultra
ATI 9700 Half Pro (freak Powercolor card with Pro core speed but non-pro mem speed)
6600GT (after 9700 died)
X850 Pro (because 6600GT sucked)
8800GTS 640mb (wonderful card)
2x 4870 (I loved them dearly)
6970 (my precious!!)

Looks like I was due to go Nvidia this time around. However...the 4870's left a serious impression. Might be another generation or so before I test the waters in the other pond.
