Not for personal use. I had several Alphas over the years in my office when I worked for DEC but I don't recall any of them running Windows (all Digital Unix/Tru64). The last one was an EV6 and it was a nice machine.

This is for our main computer...

Pentium 100Mhz
Pentium II 233Mhz (@283)
Celeron A 366Mhz (@583 or so)
AthlonXP 1.4Ghz
AthlonXP 2.0Ghz
AthlonXP-M 2.0Ghz (@2.5Ghz - my favorite, R.I.P.)
Athlon64 2.0Ghz
Athlon64 2.4Ghz
Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz (@3.0Ghz)

Looking back, I always seem to get through 2 processors for every motherboard I own.

Motorola 68020 (Amiga 1200)
-> Motorola 68030 + FPU Upgrade
-> Motorola 68040 + Power PC 603e Upgrade - Probably the worst value cpu I ever bought considering how much it cost and how much use I got from it.

I was a real Amiga zealot, Mac fanboys had nothing on me. Finally gave in and got a second hand PC with the intention of working from home (lol, that didn't last, it had half-life already installed)
AMD K6-II 300 MHz
-> AMD K6-II 550 MHz Upgrade (@500 MHz, because that's all the board would do.)

AMD Duron 800
-> AMD Duron 1.3 GHz Upgrade (Still in semi-use as the 'spare' machine at my parents)

AMD Athlon XP-1700
-> AMD Athlon XP- 2400 Upgrade (Still in use by my parents)

AMD Athlon 64 - 3200 (Winchester core, was a good overclocker)
-> AMD Athlon X2-4200 Upgrade (In bits after I grabbed the GFX card and drives for the i7, probably going to my sister)

Intel Core i7 920
-> Hopefully there will be an affordable replacement for this socket in 2-3 years

Over the same period I've also gone through various Intel chips at work, 200 MHz, 350, 800 1.8 GHz and my current P4 3.4 GHz space heater / CAD machine.

can't recall,
lets see
