I made the rounds in Southlake, TX and a friend just went by Best Buy in Irving (635 & McArthur brand new store.)

Southlake, TX:
Circuit City - no line as of 5:30pm - opening at 10am and they have "more than 10" and about 50/50 core/premium
Wal-Mart - one guy been in line since 2am this morning, they have only 10 systems - 8 core, 2 premium - as of about 5:45pm there were about 10 people in line for the 10 systems being sold at 12:01am
Best Buy - 12 or so people out front of store as of 6pm - they have more than 12 systems (the guy said if I got in line right then I'd have no problem) but wouldn't say exactly how many - about 75% of what they have is premium and 25% core - selling at 8am or 10am I forget
Target - one guy lined up as of 6:15pm - they have "more than 10" and about 50/50 premium/core - giving out tickets at 7am and selling at 8am

Irving, TX:
Best Buy - 10 people or so lined up as of 6:30pm - probably opening same as other BB - 8am or 10am

Plano, TX:
Best Buy - saw an ad in Sunday paper that they'd open at 12:01am to sell 360s - I would guess that there are already as many people lined up as they have systems

no offence - but i think it is pretty pethtic to wait out side of a store for a console system for hours or days on end - these people REALLY need to re-evaluate their life - and get one.

+ eleventy billion!

I don't get it.

OT: played CoD yesterday at BB, not bad at all.

NW burbs of Chicago:

Walmart - 2 people in line as of 6:20PM and they have "15 or so, not many".
Circuit City - No line as of 6:15PM and they have "about 15".
Meijer - they are raffling off their "12" systems, no line.
Target - No line as of 6:20PM and apparently half the people in electronics didn't know they were launching it tomorrow.

Not even going to check BestBuy, I was here for the Xbox launch and there were atleast a couple hundred people in that line, I'm expecting the same or more this time.

All of these stores are stocked full of all the controllers, games, and accessories for sale though.

I agree. I'll be updating this post every hour through the night as I continue to drive by each location - I'll yell and throw trash at those poor pathetic bastards as I drive past. :p

ahahahah

it is great that you are providing the info for the people

I guess i just have never found something in ym life materialistic - that i wanted to wait in line to get - so i can say

"Hey! i paid WAY too much money for this and i am NOT even the first person to own it either!!!"

Update from Irving, TX Best Buy:

They have 50 systems, 10 people in line as of 7pm. Handing out tickets at 8am and selling at 9am. I told all the people they were pathetic and they kicked my ass (not really hehe - my friend called from the store and told me the numbers.)

I'm on my laptop in line at a Virginia Best Buy. I picked up a random wireless signal from the area. One guy near the front of the line of about 25 has shit and pissed
himself but has NOT left the line. I wonder how long the people near him will tolerate it.

btw this is totally made up for I don't have a laptop and I don't even want an XBOX 360.

Dude that's just disgusting. Even the Star Wars lineups had bathroom breaks. People need lives.

ROFL. Love the fine print :D

I wonder if I'll be able to get one online tomorrow. I really did want one on opening day, but the large price of the preorders and the lines are annoying :/.

Fry's in Irving, TX: they have 30 or 32 systems, half and half premium/core - one person lined up so far but they say they don't want people outside and the cops are going to run them off. They will not let people line up before 6am tomorrow morning (according to the store people.) They open at 8am.

This policy seems odd since the Best Buy I posted about is across the street from this Fry's and they have no problem with people lining up.

I was wondering what people were going to do about the bathroom. I have no intention of spending the night in a line anywhere but if I did, I certainly wouldn't shit myself to get an XBox, that is messed up lol. Did he at least wear some Depends or something?

is that country side/the quarry?

they handed tickets out to people waiting all night, november 19-20th, wtf still no one at sams headin there soon and waiting for my uncle to show up pitch a tent and blast his awsome car stereo, hes got a SRT-4 stage 3, wins shows with it and all

Unless you are already camping, people in Southeast Michigan are screwed.

Long lines everywhere and campers 30+ in front of every electronic store.

No launch 360 for me. :(

Algonquin/Lake In The Hills area.

Im in McHenry myself... was hoping to not have to camp to much. I am stuck at class till 10pm. Will probably make it somewhere around midnight. I better get a freakin console.

My aunt says she just saw on the news that some retailers are saying they'll be getting more shipments DAILY until Christmas. I hadn't heard that before but if true, the only shortage could be the first few days.

Update from Fry's in Irving, TX: They put up caution tape and are not having the cops run people off now. 6 people in line for 8am opening as of 8:25pm.

so if people are getting in line about 6 pm, do they only have to wait until 10 pm or so and get tickets, or are most people actually waiting 12+ hours in line until the store opens the next day?

Apparently this is big enough news in Los Angeles to warrent 3 news teams to have vans set up outside of the Hawthorne Best Buy. They have 130 something premium bundles plus half that in core systems.

The line is 200+ .. someone's gonna get denied on local news!

do you know how best buy is releasing them? Opening early, tickets, or what?

Apparently, Circuit City stores nationwide are doing the "stand in line and we'll give you a voucher in the morning" deal. 24 hr Walmarts are apparently letting people wait inside, non-24 hr ones are most likely doing first come first serve in the morning.

I'm going to try and score one at Circuit City and Meijer, not a lot of people in my area lining up so my chances are probably pretty good.

I just drove by the local Target and 2 Best Buy stores. Lines are getting full.

Ill wait till like 4AM call the cops and have them chase off or bust the kids under 17.....that should free up some room as most of the guys I saw were under 18....HAHHAAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

24 hour wal*mart: Lewiston, ID

HOLY SHIT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE!....sorry. There are over 30 people, and the local news had the head manager saying that they're only getting...get this, 14 (fourteen!) systems. 10 core, and 4 premium! OMGLOLBBQ

Yes, this is the same city that has the Gamecrazy with the highest number of paid preorders in the northwest (250+ paid).

Hmmm... Maybe I should do that. Technically these kids can be arrested from being out past curfew.

You know, I've never actually thought of that. I wonder what the police will do if you actually report them. :D

Even though it sounds like a flame I can't agree more.. Some people may be willing to wait on line for days but I just don't get it.. I guess I actually have some patience and can wait a few days till I can track one down... Feel bad for these people, sucked in by hype and gaming addiction

You guys really can't lump everybody who waits in line like this into the "pathetic" category. That smacks of assholery and it doesn't apply to everyone who decides to wait in line.

yeah what about a parent who is waiting in line because they got a pay bonus and want to get there child something nice for a change, when they couldnt before... how pathetic they are right? to bring a smile to thier childs face

Costco in St. Peters, MO has 24, they open at 10am and I don't think anybody even knows about them.

have one reserved at gamestop for second shipment...got a call today from gamestop with a last minute offer of a core system at midnight which i refused (i'll just wait a week to get my premium).

I strolled by one of our 30 24-hour walmarts by my house to grab some groceries and check out the scene...went to electronics - there was no one there. Sweet, i thought - maybe i can come by at like 11pm, wait an hour and pick up an extra system to use/sell/whatever.

Walk over to grab some eggs and milk, and I realize that i didn't see anyone because the line went from the service desk (far back left of the store) and wrapped ALL the f'ing way around the store through the grocery section (keep in mind that this is a super-walmart, fricken huge). There must have been like 150+ in line.

To which i say, F that. I'm sorry, anyone that has this much free time to sit in a store for 12+ hours to get an xbox on launch night needs to re-evaluate where they are in life. sorry guys, it's the truth.

Not sure about the line situation in Salt Lake, but my buddy called around a few stores today as follow
WalMart - Getting 20 systems, people already queuing (5pm)
Fred Myer/Smiths - Getting 10 systems, but close at midnight and wouldn't stay open for an extra 5 minutes to sell them.
ToysRUs - 2 systems
Sears - 2 Systems

I was thinking of trying the sears at lunchtime, but won't even bother now.

Went into the University Best Buy in Charlotte, NC tonight at 9 and there were people outside with tents. I would estimate about 30 people at the time I was there. According to the list that GamersReports had, that store is getting 44 premium and 12 core.

I just finished working my shift at Circuit City and there were 30 people they are going to be pissed once they know we only have 12 Premiums and 5 cores.
