I'm about to go drive by all the places near me and see what up. I have no intention of camping or standing in line more than an hour but it's kinda a challenge now hehe. I want to see if I can get one without camping, and standing in line less than an hour in the AM.
What is really assanine is that a lot of places don't seem to want to say how many systems they have. So you can stand in line over night and MAYBE get a system? Uhh, yea ok, sign me up for that. I mean why on earth would they not say how many they have? Seems like an asshole thing to do. While Wal-Mart only had 10 locally - which is nothing - at least they said how many they had.
It sounds like Wal-Mart in general didn't get more than 10 or 20 per store - but there are so many Wal-Mart stores that works out to a lot of XBoxes. Some will be out in BFE North Dakota and the Wal-Mart stores in large cities got similar number as the BFE stores.
As far as the pathetic comments, to each his own I say. If people do things that are worthwhile to them but make no sense to others - as long as they're happy and not hurting anyone else, who cares?
I could probably find better things to do at midnight than prowling the local retail parking lots, I guess I'm a f-a-n-b-o-y f-a-n-b-o-y lol, but it is interesting to me and it's only every 4-5 years we get an XBox launch and this is only the 2nd one ever.
Last (first) XBox launch, I went to the local Best Buy in the AM, stood in line outside for about an hour before they opened with a surprising number of people, got one on the first day. It seems like this launch is much bigger - good for MSFT and retail in general maybe.
