rancor said:first off this is a video card performance test, not a network latency or cpu benchmark, and that will be extremely variable depending on the server you are running on.
You mean $499, right?MFZ said:They have a BFG 6800U OC at Frys for $599, should I get it?

It's $499 at my local fry's and the MSRP is $499. I'll bet you're wrong. What store did you see that at? I'll call them.MFZ said:No i mean $599.
MFZ said:Fast CPU + network lan eliminates those problems and gives u a more real world scenario than floating through maps.

When EXACTLY is ATI suppost to start dominating in Half Life 2?
More then a few downplayed the DOOM 3 benchmarks because it was just ONE game (its actually the whole OpenGL API) and the "real" GOTY would be HL2 where ATI would be dominating.
From these benchmarks it looks to me like nVidia will have the lead in a couple more driver updates if ATI doesn't release some new beta drivers that fix a "bug". lol
The 6800GT lead the X800Pro in every level except for one where it lost by less then 1 fps.
MFZ said:CSS is not HL2 and doesnt really predict how well that game will work on any card. Not to mention these results arent reallly reflective of real world gaming anyway. Like I said, they should do a lan test with fast PC's to get more accurate results even if the lower resolutions are cpu limited.
burningrave101 said:CSS is the main game everyone was worried about FPS in, not HL2. FPS is ALOT more important in CSS then it will be in HL2. HL2 will run absolutely perfect on ither a 6800 or X800 ither one because of Valves excellent programming skills.
LOL...thenerd said:haha 9600xt owns 5700u.
MFZ said:I don't think anyone was worried about FPS in CSS. Even a 9800XT performs remarkably well in the game.
burningrave101 said:Then why were a whole lot of ATI fans saying they went with ATI cards because they wanted the fastest card for CSS? I distinctively remember them saying that every fps counts.
So tell me again why ANYONE would currently buy an X800Pro over a 6800GT?
GoatMan said:Well the only reason i can think of is to get the x800pro vivo and mod it to XT... other than that its probably just because they are stuck on ati.
Moloch said:Nice nvidia can finally compete.
But just like with most games, the X800's do better with 4xAA and 16AF.
Now hen will HL2 be out is what I want to know.
Because CS;S isn't an indication of Hl2, HL2 prolly looks much better, harder on hardware etc.
