so heres a question for all of my fellow X-Fi owners out there..... i just recently purchased the fatal1ty model and lemme say.... SWEET STUFF..... but anyways..... is there any way to use the control that came with the card to control DVDs while not using creative software?

Ugh you just gave Fatality support..(guy is such a tool) but I don't think you can control any other program with the remote.

Actually you can, hehe. I havent done it but if you go to the Creative forums and do a search someone posted a guide to how to set things up. You have to manually edit some files in the Creative directory.

Anyway if I come across it I'll post a link but searching would prolly be faster, hehe :D

:D Took the words right out of my mouth
Companies need to wisen up, drop the fatality crap, and introduce products that are worth half a crap!

Youre calling him a tool because rapes the competition in video games and lets a company pay him an assload to stick his name on their stuff?

Either way, I think most of the Creative fatality branded stuff is a waste of money; sure the extra sound card ram might make a difference in the future, but i dont see that happening anytime soon, and even then, I doubt it would make a huge difference.

you may want to look into a tool called Girder

i used it for a while with my audigy2 frontpanel/remote.. its a general IR config utility..

i use it mainly to control SageTV (i have since bought a Microsoft USB MCE Remote for it)

Return it and get the Elite Pro for $290 from Zipzoomfly. It does everything the Fatality does, and has better components.

That's true. All X-Fi models (except the Elite Pro) use the same DACs found in the Audigy 2 line, while the Elite Pro uses the same DAC found in the EMU 1212 and the Audigy 4 Pro.
