looks like BF4 but the way BF4 should of been, definitely interested in this one now.

It definitely does not look as hardcore as ARMA, but the weapon handling does look more realistic than your typical COD or BF clone. The game itself looks a lot like Battlefield 4.My interest is piqued for this one, but haven't seen all of the recent videos of gameplay yet. Is it a happy medium between Call of Battlefield and ARMA?

I think success will hinge on their server/netcode performance and whether players can host dedicated servers after release.
Perhaps one of the coolest touches is the free-look camera. If you're playing a game like PUBG, you'll use this a lot as a way to scan the horizon for enemies. It's important in large-scale shooters as well, but WW3 has two neat twists.
Firstly, if you're holding down the button, the game will let you continue firing at a spot while you look around. It's basically in place so you can lay covering fire for allies while scanning the vicinity. Secondly: when you let go of free-look, your aim will snap to the current centre of your view - so if you're looking around and spot an enemy, you can let go of a button and immediately start laying fire on them. WW3 will even shift your aim across if you were already laying down covering fire elsewhere.
Dawid Biegun, the game's PR manager, showed me an even neater addition in a closed-doors session. While tanks are meant to provide a dominating force on the battlefield, and infantry are equipped with rockets and other strikes to combat that, there's also another way they can fight back.
Vehicles essentially have two main modes of health: the tank's overall HP, which can't be repaired, and the health of their communications optics, gun sights, and the gunnery controls themselves (or remote controller weapon station, RCWS). Engineers can repair the latter three at any point during a fight, and infantry can also target each of the systems on a tank - if they know where to shoot.
A quick burst from a rifle is all that's needed to knock, say, the gunnery sights out. You can still shoot with the regular camera, of course, and a tank can't be brought offline by Leroy Jenkins and his AK-47. But the agency is the cool factor here: while copping a tank shell is a one-way route back to the deployment screen, players on both sides of the conflict will have tools that they can respond with. If you're out of RPG rockets, you can still try and even the playing field by knocking out the gunnery sights, dropping a smoke, and giving the rest of your team a little more breathing room.
It looks like the vehicles are more detailed than BF4. That was something I was hoping for in BF5. You have APS and ERA as an example for tanks.
Overall in terms of quality it looks a lot rougher than BF3/4. But my understanding is this will be in Early Access for a long time. Not something I am a fan of. Even though it is using UE4 I doubt it will look as good as DICE's graphics in the long run though. I doubt they have the funding or staffing to make a game look that pretty. Weapon animations are pitiful right now as an example.
i'll take the ugly graphics as long as the game plays good and doesn't feel like i'm playing call of duty/battlefield..

from the videos I watched I think and hope this game plays more like bf3 than 4. honestly I think bf went to shit with bf4 and it came back some with bfv. I've played every bf and bf4 just does not have the feel of older bf games. I could not put over 10 hours in bf4. it has the features of battlefield but the maps are designed in a way to make it feel like a deathmatch game. most of the team ends up with 20 deaths which is just really bad map design. my friend who is fairly new to battlefield and I played the bfv beta and enjoyed it. then when it ended we played bf4, and both of us agreed bfv had better gameplay. and its not like bf4 is a stale game to us. we both had less than 5 hours in it.I might finally purchase a early access game....kinda looks like a new bf4 type of game, which is what i been waiting for! Sucks the BF franchise went to shit!
yeah. insurgency isn't that bad. post scriptum looks really rough. from the videos I've watched of ww3 it looks pretty polished. I like that the maps are real locations, you don't see that much. day one buy for me.After taking a chance on Sandstorm Insurgency along with Post Scriptum I'm really worried about small team military games.
You are better off sticking to the guys with UBI and EA or even Activison.

I hope the graphics improve....as it kinda seemed a bit dated? or maybe was just the map? still glad to see bf at least gets some competitionThat last video looks like COD lack of recoil and feel, everyone is going to run around with a sniper rifle...

any idea what game engine this one is using? Or they made their own from scratch? It certainly looks ok from some of the promo videos. IMO when they choose the right art and colors it can still look pretty good.I'm tempted myself. I hope it is polished up a lot though. It doesn't need to be Battlefield good in terms of looks, but Insurgency Sandstorm has great weapon animations and map/prop art. I hope they can at least get to that level.

yeah, so expect average or below frame rates for the quality of graphics you see.Unreal Engine.
The more videos I watch the more janky its looks, dunno...
Looks a bit too fast paced. Mainly the sliding. Yeah you can slide in real life but this looks over done and must be awkward in an MP game. Some of those rag dolls looked terrible to. Obviously this will enter early access but how long do they plan on taking until the final release? 4-6 months, 8-12?
