Witchfire (dark fantasy shooter)

I finally picked up this Bad Boy waiting for a Steam release a year from now would be too much. Cost me like 25.50 after discount.
Download is about 24 Gigs
 
Just started the game to take a dip it's pretty immersive I'm not sure how bad it gets later on but the gunplay is really good.
It's like a MMO with Gunplay basically really like the atmosphere not going to play it much because it's EA.

Is this game worth buying now? How much content is in this early release?

Is it a Doom Eternal or Halo Infinite campaign type game?
 
I totally spaced that this was coming pretty soon. I bought it at a deep discount via the Epic holiday sale knowing that the "final" version would be coming in Q1. I should be done with LOTF pretty soon and can take a deep dive into this when I do.
 
the Early Access version sounds solid but I'm going to wait till the final version is released...I'm guessing when the Epic Store exclusivity runs out in September 2024 is when we'll see the proper 1.0 version

the final version is not coming in Q1...that's just when they are releasing a major update to the Early Access version...they stopped patching the EA version back in November so that they could work exclusively on the 'new' version...
 
The 4/4 updated didn't happen. People on Reddit are saying that it was pushed out a week, but I dunno where that info came from.
 
Is this game only available on the Epic GS? If so [H]ard pass until its on Steam.
 
I would totally finish this game but don't want my save file deleted when it launches. Would hate having to redo the game. Im only level ,6 or something. This is the most fluid fps I ever played besides maybe Tiny Tina's Wonderland but that game was too colorfull.
 
Now that things seem a little more steady I'll probably start playing in the next few weeks. I knew this was coming, so I didn't want to waste my time earlier.
 
I bought this as I was interested. Jesus Christ this game is hard. Its like 2 or 3 hits and I am dead. I have gotten nowhere in any run. Maybe kill 5-10 guys before I die. I am wondering if I should just give up on the game. Any tips?

Use a controller and strafe level up goto a portal to increase vitality at the base.

This game has tons of secrets hidden paths shortcuts hidden objects I started two new character had a hard time the Rapid fire weapons are annoying I suppose so the player can see hit registers. If you choose a premade chacter get a spell character right away and have a easier time. Researching new weapons is pretty fast

late 2025?...that's a long Early Access period for a single player game

it's coming to Steam in late 2024 so the Epic haters have another option
 
I just seen on the astronauts blog page that the current version is like 0.3.something. Late 2025 seems to be a good estimate. Looks like I have an even bigger wait then thought.
 
Out today on Steam I might buy it twice I just want to game in a finished state really.
I don't think I'll buy it twice no reason for it. If anything would put the funds towards Kingdom Come Deliverance or gulp Dragon Age.

so Fall 2025 for Version 1.0...they should at least charge a bit less for Early Access to give people more of an incentive to buy an incomplete game
 
This game is so good it puts to shame any Modern Doom game you can jump high as the trees. Strafing is really fun exploration is fun. Reviews Very Positive on Steam at 92% I knew it was a good game before the reviews hit.

Another 6 months to hopefully get V1.0… that’s almost 8 damn years since its announcement. I wish early access would just die in a fire.

It ought to be illegal. Some of these games stay in EA for years. That's no longer early access at that point. EA should be like 6 months to a year max.

I was actually thinking of picking this up a few days ago but decided to go with Nioh 2 instead, as it's content complete and much more feature rich. I'm not gonna pay any amount of money to beta test a game, specially a game that's at version 0.3 ffs. By the time this full releases it's probably going to be in a much different state. I'm most likely gonna wait it out until late 2025. This could very well even go into 2026, v.0.3 is not very encouraging to me. Plus I'll most likely have some faster hardware by then which will be quite beneficial.
