.... back again, still having the same problem where my computer mysteriously reboots, tried reinstalling windows, changing cables, running memtest on hours on end, prime95 torture tests, etc. does any body know of this problem, how do i fix it? it only happens at certain points.... like, when im loading the server in battlefield 1942 or exiting the game, or when im exiting full screen mode in winamp(the only known times thus far) can some one or any of my fellow [H]'ers Please Help!

It sounds like something to do with the vid card and it doesn't sound hardware related since it's not crashing in the middle of a game.
Try a couple of different versions of drivers. Newer ones if you don't have the newest, or older drivers if you do have new ones.

I think I remember your other thread, you have reformatted right? 95% of the time when you reformat and you get the same issues it's hardware. Since your passing prime95 and memtest86 the mobo, cpu, and ram are likely good. That leaves sound, video, and power supply as likely suspects. Swap these out one-by-one, if it's oneboard sounds disable it in the bios, if it's a PCI card, just remove it.
The other 5% may have to do with specific hardware incompatibilities, maybe relating to drivers. You have probably discounted the driver part with the reformat. But that still leaves hardware x isn't compatible with hardware y. Of course these types of problems are found quickly, and should be 'known' to your build.

well i can't see if it is the video card due to the fact that i don't have another one, the sound is on board, i will disable it, i think im goign to update video drivers and see if that works, hopefully, still at school, be home in like 2 hours, and we will go from there, as far as PSU,i guess i can switch it out and see if that is the problem but all my rails see to be stable and at the right voltages, i'll post when i try video drives and disable sound....
NO.. not the processor. Looking at your motherboard. <unless you have rev two.> it is directly next to it with a fan on it. It is labled Gagibyte, P4 Titan. Anyway that is the part I am talking about. If that little fan is only working half assed or not at all you will have stability issues under load. It handles all of your I/O traffic. Drives, Graphics bus, all of that good stuff.

devo5676 you didn't by chance have your Radeon hooked up to the same power lead as your hard drives did you?
I've been reading in here of some people having problems because of that. The Radeons pull alot of power and were causing issues with the hard drives on the same leads.
My machine was crashing hard when playing games when my 9700 was hooked up with my HD's on my new board with 1 HD installed on a SATA adapter. Had no problems with my old board (8kHA+).
Does the 9800 pull as much wattage as the 9700?
