Windows 7 Beta Goes Public

Use img burn and burn at a 1x speed?

its not the burning, I used Alcohol 120% at 4x(not sure why i cant select slower, i think its my dvd drive, as other programs also limit me to 4x), its the downloading of the iso, I wasted 3 DVDs before i found that the md5 checksums dont match

Are you using the direct links? If so, you should give the Microsoft Download page a try using their download manager. I got my copy from that, then used a usb to get it to a comp with a dvd burner, burned at 4x with UltraISO, and it installed perfectly. I heard somewhere that microsofts download manager auto checks the md5 and such to make sure its all fine, though i dont remeber where i hear it

Hope you get Win 7 up and working soon :)

I posted the direct links here ;) I tried the dir link, once with FF, once with IE, then I downloaded the iso thru utorrent, now Im downloading again from a different dsl line

I found the easiest way to get a key. I was trying yesterday like everyone else till like 6pm. Then I did this:

I dl'ed the iso via torrent and had an avg of 800kb/s.
I got off my computer and went out and had some real life fun.
I got home at about 11am and found Terry's post on the front page.
I visited said url and followed said instructions. I got the key within 3 minutes on my first try.
I then started the download from that page just in case my torrent'ed one is "noobed" somehow.

Now, I am sitting back, relaxed and read the 8 pages of posts that happened between the time I was out having a real life and the time I got back. I can't believe I am hearing about/seeing some of the sheeps here damn near DOS'ing MS's page to get the fucking key. Jesus, go out, try to get some pussy, lol.

QFT! How small must some peoples e-peen be to waste countless hours trying to get a beta operating system that more or less gives you the same functionality of your current one.

Well that post was more in reference to the initial madness of trying to get the key rather than trying out a new OS. I think it has loads more functionality than my previous one. I have to install far less programs and it runs faster.

In general, I am really liking this OS. The more I use it, the more I don't want to uninstall it... ever.

Simply put. It doesn't gets you out of your comfort zone but yet. It fools you into believing you actually have accomplished something. Look at my last post the Windows Explorer can be easyly placed into an infinite loop. Talking about POS.

You found a bug, so it's a POS?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but isn't the entire point of beta testing to find bugs?

If the bug persists into RC1 or the Release, then you've got a point.

As I noted many times in this thread and in others, it's easier for some folks to complain here about Windows nearly infinitely instead of actually filling out a feedback box and sending off the suggestions of bug reports. If they had any brains at all they'd see the logic of doing that, and then perhaps Windows WOULD become the OS they keep professing it can be because of all their suggestions instead of mouthing off incessantly about stuff they really should just STFU about.

"Your OS sucks, your company sucks, and I hate you and I can do better... I just don't have the intelligence required to realize I could become a part of making the OS better for not only everyone else but myself included and be happy about it... now leave me alone while I return to my basement and do more research on trolling just because I can..."

Talk about e-peens... geez...
