Correct usage but we have no idea of the power usage or how much power these white "lines" use or if it's a developer choice concept. But but but... with an OLED display that's literally a waste of power.

That's all that is better on iOS are the apps.Im coming back to iOS from Android (had a Googe Pixel XL that last year). iOS is better. It can boring all it wants the apps run better.
This is a huge iPhone fan site, big time Apple lover.

Work offered to get an iPhone or Samsung for contractors. I was leaning in favor of the Note 8, but might go for an 8 Plus, instead. They won't spring for the X.And he closed out by saying he would still be getting it.. Not saying that there isnt valid arguments against it in his video, but the DONT DO IT on the intro is pretty misleading.
I already ordered an 8 and the more I look at the X the less likely I think I am to get it (have t-mo Jump On Demand so I can upgrade every 30 days with nothing out of pocket). The one thing I cant get over is the stupid FaceID shit. I appreciate them adding a new way of unlocking your phone, but I much much prefer the touch ID.. And they could have easily put it in the back at the apple logo like some were speculating it would be. Considering that the iPhone 7 already lost the physical button & was just a place to put your finger on the glass and the X is damn near identical dimensions to the G6 which happens to already have a fingerprint sensor in about the same location as the apple logo I feel like apple dropped the boat for anyone who really appreciates TouchID.
I will also say that the cost of the phone doesn't really bother me. Apple's history of software updates keeping the phones relevant mean that the phone's should be at a premium to Android & the X is pretty close in price to the Newest Flagship Android. I basically look at it with a 3:5 ratio (based on 3 years of expected android OS updates vs 5 years of iOS updates) which means that to hit the same long term value of a iphone compared to the note 8 would be 1550 for the same years per dollar spent.
Most likely this year I will be rocking the iPhone 8 on the iOS side & the v30 will be my Flagship Android. Both of which I think are the best bang per buck for the fall flagships (thinking the v30 will be 750ish and have a BOGO I will be able to take advantage of within a week of release).

That's like the entire phone...
It's not like I spend time using the phone for much else.
Honestly, I feel like the iPhone SE is kind of underrated more than anything; it's a reasonably compact phone that doesn't get gimped simply because it's not considered big enough to be a flagship device (which pretty much every Android manufacturer not named Sony does with the internals on 4" and smaller screen phones), having just about everything the 6S(+) had in the 5S form factor short of Force/3D Touch, and it's actually reasonably priced, even for the increased storage options. Better yet, you can still use all the existing 5S cases and front-panel screen replacements! (5S/SE screens aren't too hard to replace if you've got a pentalobe driver and are mindful of the fingerprint scanner cable, thankfully.)
It fills a niche that's generally underserved in the current market, so to speak, and I wouldn't dare buy a cheap Android phone that wasn't a second-hand flagship from one or two years ago, just because those still tend to have features that hold up and usually have unlocked bootloaders for custom ROM developers to pick up the slack where the manufacturer left off. Meanwhile, the XDA crowd generally doesn't bother with non-flagship devices.
The A9 might be showing its age compared to the A10 and A11, though. Apple's on a roll with these SoCs of theirs; too bad they only come on Apple devices.
I can't help but think that Apple will refresh or even revamp the SE early next year, around March or April. It'd be fun if it had an iPhone X-style display (so you had, say, a 4.5-inch screen in that space), but I could see the existing design jumping to an A10 or A11 and a newer camera. And like it or not, this is one of those designs that really could benefit from removing the headphone jack, since it's such a relatively tight space.
And with Touch-ID embedded in the screen!!! That would be a truly epic iPhone!!!I was talking to a friend at work about how I would love an iPhone SE with the screen enlarged to take up basically the whole front of the device. The size of the se has been my favorite since I got one last summer. The actual screen itself I did find was a bit small, but that would be alleviated if they actually made the front glass all screen.
They might of not wanted two standards on the same phone. It's possible to do a TouchID device behind a screen but it would not be nearly as good as the raw sensor. And with Touch-ID embedded in the screen!!! That would be a truly epic iPhone!!!

Gimme the sorcery, because I hate rear sensors!I think they can just make it the apple logo on the back. Would get away from any fancy sorcery that would drive the price up to a grand..
From everything I've seen Face ID is actually fast, quick, and accurate unlike the current Android implements. Face ID is essentially a miniature Kinect. Just pick up the phone and right as you look upon the screen, it'll unlock as if no security was ever there.

But but but, even the re-released Note7 has a smaller battery now too.
Comparisons show the note 8 beating the s8 plus on battery tests. Mine lasts forever. And people are saying the Note 8 gets good battery life, but not great battery life. Comparisons have shown the S8+ getting 7h Screen On time, and the N8 gets like 5.5h - 6h Screen on time.
This is the worst case of brand loyalty (and I'm quite certain it's being done for shits and giggles and to generate clicks) I do believe I've ever heard of or seen but then I read the comments and this person's responses and it just snowballs out of control fast:
Looks like Apple has indeed raised the bar for pricing at least.
Pixel 2 XL pricing expected at $849 for the 64gb and $949 for the 128gb model.

Think I'll be sitting out phones this year as my used 7+ from Swappa is just fine and I can always play with my old OnePlus One if I need an Android fix.
Maybe I'll pick something up from the used market in January but I can't see paying retail for any of these new phones as what they offer is a minimal upgrade at best.
Used iPhone 7/7+, OnePlus 5 or Pixel XL may be the best options currently as all have seen prices dropping in the used market and should drop further after the iPhone X and Pixel XL 2 hit the market.
Pixel 2 pricing released. $649 starting.

You had me with everything you said there until the "no headphone jack" part, which is mainly difficult to stomach because Apple only puts ONE Lightning port on their phones. Listen OR charge, not both... Same goes to the Android manufacturers who think only one USB-C port is enough, even if that port's not proprietary enough to reap licensing fees like Apple can get away with.I can't help but think that Apple will refresh or even revamp the SE early next year, around March or April.
