I voted neither. I had a PS3 but that POS died on me not even 2 months after I got it, but the only game I like was GTAIV, Madden, Midnight Club and Grid. Never an FPS on a console ever! Been playing PC FPS since Wolf:3D was brand new.....

No dedicated servers, no mods, and NOW I come to hear that the MAX player size on PC will be 9v9? IW and Activision can suck a dick. IW is dead to me. They are NO LONGER the developers we grew to respect and admire as vanguards of PC FPS gaming. IW was the phoenix that rose from the ashes of slow death that became MOH after Allied Assault was launched. COD1 not only refined the FPS, but honed to a razors edge the MP experience. COD1, COD2, and COD4 were ALL unbelievable hits due to this BASIC formula: great Sp, but MP so addictive a crackhead looks normal. But now..... I dont even know what to call this shit. Too much damned good luck combined with a publisher/parent company that is so bloated from WoW sales and fees and all the other shit games with DLC and pay for play ala XB:Live that they fully embraced charging for shit that not so long ago was gladly given to gamers via patches for nothing more than purchasing the game to begin with!

*breathe*

Funny, that for ALLLLLLL the bitching and whining about in-game adverts and all the other crap EA has done, at least EA let their devs at DICE do their thing..... and ya know what? It worked. So I eagerly await the return of Battlefield via Bad Company 2, and from what I hear and have seen, the infantry combat has been VASTLY improved from BF2, fully destructible enviros AND I also get tanks choppers and jets? Dude, good bye COD, and welcome home BF! Long live DICE.

This game was originally going to be a definite purchase for me. I seriously could not wait for it... love CoD4 to death.

But no it is going to be a definite non-purchase. I can not in good conscious spend my money on this, for multiple reasons.

No doubt due to the elimination of dedicated servers. Seeing that all games will now be hosted through listen servers on a residential broadband connection, 18 players may even be pushing it. It's really a shame they castrated one of the most anticipated titles in such a large way.

Castrated seems to light a term for this. Maybe... disemboweled.... but even THAT sounds too pleasant for this.

Would have bought it down the line for the SP alone and then traded it off. But with the Steam tie in I guess that's not going to happen.

Yup. I'll get it on the PC eventually but I very seriously doubt I buy on day one or anywhere close to that date. I can wait, especially with the growing list of other games out or coming out that I frankly am more interested in.

I really enjoyed the first, so I'll get this one but only when it comes down in price (ideally a Steam weekend deal or something). Have absolutely no interest in the multiplayer so that doesn't bother me at all.

With 9vs9 MP not a chance what a joke seriously Activision did exactly what they did with the abortion that is Wolfenstein MP these clowns dont give a shit about the PC community.

Steam tie-in = no resale.

If I'm going to buy a 60 dollar SP game, I want to know damn well that I can sell it off after I'm done with it. Otherwise I'll just wait till it's 10-20 bucks someday.

I really loved COD 1/2/4's SP campaigns, but not enough to buy them for 60 bucks.

And I LOVE Steam. But I've never bought any new releases through it. I'm loaded chock full of 5-10 dollar specials.

I was going to give them a chance despite reservations about the multiplayer support. However now that I know they limit the game to 9 vs. 9 matches, I won't be buying this piece of crap at any price. It will have to come with a video card that I buy in the future or something like that. Short of that I won't own this game.

I was on for PC, but now my two COD friends and I are having doubts because of the lack of dedicated server support, 9v9 limit, and no leaning. Serious doubt.

This game was a 100% no question purchase on day one. However with no dedicated servers there's no way i am paying an additional 10$ for less game. Especially considering recent COD games have featured no more than 10 hours of single player.

I'm sticking to my guns this time...I won't buy this game unless they drop the pc price down to the standard pc price. There's no way to justify them charging the same $60 they charge on consoles because of licensing fees when the pc doesn't have those fees.

They're charging extra just because it's a popular franchise and if companies start doing that, gamers screw themselves by making franchises popular in the first place.

I'll pay the premium for popcorn and soda in a theatre because there's no other option...with games, there are tons more options.

These two sum up my thoughts exactly. Pre-order canceled.

Since IW killed multiplayer it isn't even worth $50. I'll wait until it is in the $20 bargin bin to play the single player. CoDMW and CoDWaW will work for the time being.

With NO dedicated servers for PC and only 9v9 play, I'll pass until I can find it for $20 or less. Guess I'm not playing it for a long, long time....

I cannot understand those of you who are still planning on getting this for pc. Are you people mentally sick in the head?

s[h]eep herders.

trust me.

That's why people still buy gimped games. "because it's popular"

ach... who cares about them?

IW's responce would look something like this...

The game is not balanced for client/server play
The game is not balanced for 10-40ms pings
The game is not balanced for Console Comamnds
The game is not balanced for Lean
We'd like you to play the game the way it was intended
The game is not balanced for more than 18 players
We're just focusing on launching the game
We're just focusing on launching the game
The game is not balanced for recording
We will ban the hackers for you
MW2 is a huge improvement over MW1 becuase profiles are saved online
The matchmaking system works very well. Please go buy the game and try it for yourself

It's easy to mute other players
We found no such issues through our testing
We can't charge for Demo's, therefore they are unecessary

more like that.

Yeah that right there is a deal breaker for me. I enjoy playing on heavily populated servers myself. 18 players doesn't cut it.

Crap, yea. I mean, playing 32v32 on crossfire(?) is a personal favorite of mine. With 9v9, sure it's more tactical, but jeebus, I cannot even begin to imagine what the anti-camping crying will sound like...

And why the odd number?

Because the knew that by the time their shitty MP details were released, only 18 PC owners will be playing it longer than... say 5 minutes.

you mean the drunk ones with no sense of time? That's the only way, unless if the campain blows people away.

Lol I can see it now, prestige for replaying the damn SP over and over and over!

Well, I went to a friend's house and he invited me to try out MW2. I played through quite a few levels tonight. I was totally underwhelmed. This game is a yawn fest. It's lower in quality than the first Modern Warfare which was a good purchase. This one however, will not be purchased.

The same tired COD cliches are played out so much so that I don't ever want to play a COD game again.

Again, the invisible walls, the hordes of respawning enemies that give zero satisfaction with a kill, and now even more silliness like snowmobile racing while shooting from one hand and mowing down civilians for the greater good and yes...a heart-beat detector ripped right out of the 23rd century from Aliens.

I seriously was falling asleep on the couch playing this. Most of the time I had no idea what my mission was and I didn't care because the ever-present and alarmingly conscious fact that all I had to do was fight through respawning enemies to the direction of the arrow on my screen meant that I was going forward in the level. My brain completely zoned out of boredom.

I'm gonna get it for PC. Until 2 weeks ago I was going to get it for 360, but then I got the funds for a new rig(in sig) and I'll get MW2 for that instead. I was going to have to deal with the matchmaking system with 360 anyways so I might as well get it for the rig that can run it better. It will tide me over hopefully until Bad Company 2 is out.
