Good Morning, All,
I'm looking at (finally) moving to an AMD X2 system. My P4 2.4@3.2 is getting a little long in the tooth, and I'd love to have a more "responsive" system, in regards to multitasking, etc. I have everything but the chip... not entirely sure which to go for at the moment.
I understand that the X2 3800+, with its Manchester dualcore, is 2.0 GHz with 2x 512 L2 cache. Not bad at around $322 at the Egg.
The X2 4400+, with its Toledo dualcore, is 2.2 GHz but, perhaps more importantly, has 2x 1MB L2 cache.
Which is going to be a better processor? Do the extra L2 caches make any difference? Or should I just go with the X2 3800+ ?
I don't plan on making any insane overclocks... not intially, anyway
Thanks in advance!
