im conflicted. i have a 380w antec powering the sig rig soon to have a 8800gts 512 which everyone says will be fine.

BUT

in august im adding a q6600 and mobo, so I want to have a little more overhead. here are my choices:

antec earthwatts 650w - $70

SILVERSTONE ST50EF-Plus 500W
- $105

pc power and cooling silencer 610w - $124

corsair tx650 - $118 AR

corsair tx750 - $108 AR

have a 380w antec ...

imo marginal with the 8800 so you are going in the right direction.

again imo :

650 sufficient but
corsair tx750 - $108 AR

and you probably will never need to buy another power supply

anyone think otherwise? Gonna wait for another person to confirm this is the one to get, and then I'll pick it up. thanks guys.

its a good psu.. i might go with the hx620 if you want modular (it can output 700w np)

corsair is very good brand and actually affordable..

i ask because I am on a budget, so the cheaper the better. In my situation, is the tx750 going to really be better than the ea650? I ask because I dont know, and i have heard good things about both series.

Yes the TX750 will be better than the EA650 without a doubt. The EA650 is a "cheaper" PSU in terms of quality for a Seasonic made PSU. So in terms of quality, the CWT built TX750 is the far better choice. In terms of power output, again the 750TX is still the better choice.

BTW, what country do you live in?

EDIT: Corsair 750TX is made by CWT. My bad.

EDIT 2: The EA650 is made by Delta. So not too sure how good it is now.

Goddang, proven wrong twice in a thread. LOL!

Post amended.
