I have been using G.Skill for a while now and have been happy with it. I am replacing 4 1 gig sticks with 2 2 gig sticks and have been looking at a lot of memory. It will be going into a DFI LT board with an e6550, which only has the 7x multi. I have always gone with the G.Skill because I believe you get a lot for the money. However, I have been thinking I want to try something new. So, in the 50ish price range, what is best to pair with that e6550? One thing that does matter is the heat spreaders. I need black. Thanks!

I was looking at these

If you only need them to do 1000 MHz 5-5-5-15 [so you can use 500 FSB ang get 3,5GHz] pretty much any would do.

I'm using OCZ SLI-ready [2x1GB tho'] And they clock rather well, come with a black HS, and do 1200 MHz 5-5-5-10 at only ~2.15V.

The only possible problem is that I've heared they're using different ICs in the new sticks. The old ones used black PCB and [supposedly] Micron chips, the new ones are said to be some Elpida...
Quite a risk :/

PS. I've just checked newegg and Corsair's set is $~46. They are 800 only tho' :/
Seems like you'll have to pay ~64 to get a set that's guaranteed to do 1066 :S
