I use plain ol' windows media player 11 for audio.
For videos I use gomplayer. I've tried all the popular players, and always end up coming back to gom.
For audio I use WinAMP. I started using it back in high school when it first came out, (I graduated in '98) I think it wasn't even 1.0 yet when I first downloaded it. I've used it ever since. I like it, (well except for Winamp 3 which sucked) so why should I change?
Foobar for most audio, particularly for long playlists while doing work.
Winamp for single music files, it's my default audio player in Firefox.
Media Player Classic for all video.
Foobar for music, KMP for any videos. I really like the interface of KMP more than VLC, and it plays everything I've thrown at it without extra codecs or anything.
Itunes for mp3
Foobar for Flac
Mpc for all avi/mpg/mkv/etc
Powerdvd for dvd's
vlc is my backup media player, anything that mpc refuses to play vlc will knuckle up to the challenge. I don't use wmp or mediacenter for anything. I wish they'd hurry up and port XBMC over to pc, the interface is perfect. if only it didn't look like crap on my 47" westy coming from the xbox.
K-Lite codec pack is one of the first things I install after installing Windows. Read lots of people talking about how bad ffdshow is, but meh, nothing bad's happened yet.
For music, I use iTunes. I have an iPod, and the interface is a little more friendly than say, foobar2k.
Are there any differences in the quality of the sound from these programs? I currently use
VLC but I've been wondering if there is any differences in audio quality between players.
