What controller do you use?

I have a Rumblepad 2 for years now, it works wonderfully. I might get a second controller in the near future, looking for suggestions.:)

I have a second wired X360 controller that I hook up to my PC when I'm not gaming with a guest on the 360. Works great for games like Gears of War and and Assassin's Creed.

Well, IBM Model-M and a Logitech G5, but if im playing a game that could use a controller, ive been very happy with my 360 controller. Excellent ergonomics and has just the right number of buttons. The analog triggers are very nice too.

I am on my second USB based Air-Flo... it was cheap. But I'm starting to have issues with it... again. No more!

Same, works great best PC gamepad ever.

For joystick i use logitech wireless freedom 2.4ghz

Logitech Dual Action 2 .. only for racing games and arcade emulators.

anything else and your a wussie.

Old XBox controller on XP, USB cable soldered on.
TigerGame driver.

Wireless 360 controller. It was on sale at my local BB for the same price as the wired version.

Wireless 360 controller. Needed a second controller for my 360 and the PC bundle was cheaper than an individual controller, so now I use it for certain PC games as well. It's the best PC controller I've ever used.

Logitech Wingman Rumble

I was looking at getting the wireless adapter for my 360 controller though.

Generic Logitech wired mouse
Wireless 360 gamepad
SNES gamepad with RetroZone USB adapter
Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick
Logitech Momo Force wheel
Hori Fighting Stick EX2
Les Paul wireless guitar

I've hardly ever owned any controllers even back in my PC gaming days in the late 90s, but now that I have a steady job, I went a little crazy catching up on the good stuff. :)

PS3 controller (which was a bitch to setup for me) for games like devil may cry and assassins creed
Logitech g25 for racing (unless its nfs..then ps3)
and HRAP3 (with some nicely modded buttons) for retro

Nyko Airflo EX(pretty damn good)

Wired Xbox 360 Controller(Also pretty damn good)

I'm happy with both.

I use my 360 joystick, but for some reason it doesn't work well on the PC. It's like the stick isn't calibrated correctly, when I'm in a racing game it'll force the car to pull to the right when I'm trying to drive straight. Also, in the calibration software I can see it's very twitchy, the indicator will be moving around when I'm not even touching the stick.

The strange thing is that the stick works perfectly fine when I'm playing on the 360. I have no trouble driving in Forza 2, but on the PC the controls are crazy.

I just bought a wireless gaming receiver, which means my wireless x360 controllers will work on the PC. woot.

I use a PS2 controller for some emulators. I have a USB-PS2(game system not port) adapter that I got for $3 versus a $60 XBOX360 controller.

That's great if you happen to already have a PS2 controller and you actually like it. Personally, I find them too small and uncomfortable.

ps2 controllers w/ smartjoy usb adapters

Same.

I hate the xbox/360 controllers. I also have a rumblepad 2, but the area around the sticks is square which makes it awkward to do some movements, such as SF2 quarter/half circle movements.

stupid question, but I'm picking up a controller for GRID...but I got kinda spooked b/c under the 360 controllers, it says "XP compatible" nothing about Vista...

so will have issues w/ vista w/ the wireless or the wired?

thanks for the quick 411...trying to get it before they close

The 360 controllers work beautifully under Vista. I've never even used mine under XP.

Everyone who posted in this thread about using a controller is a sell out.

I don't consider it selling out. I consider it as a testament to open platform for PC gaming. I can play with a keyboard, mouse, and/or controller without having to worry about the game just flat out not supporting it or having to play on a controller that may seem uncomfortable. Platforming games (psychonauts) with a mouse and keyboard is too much of a hassle.

I use a Logitech wired rumblepad 2. I had a logitech dual action but it would have problems where it would disconnect from USB even when plugged in. I also have a Microsoft Xplorer Guitar for Guitar Hero 3 (load times? what load times?).

Arrg we need more games that support JOYSTICKS not Gamepads!

Where's my Mechwarrior?!

Looks kind of crappy to be honest. I suggest you look for a wired 360 controller for a bit more.

I just use my XBox 360 controller on the PC now. Though the Logitech RumblePad is a great controller. I have one of those two, but I prefer the XBox 360 controller over it.
