Hi :)

I have little problem. My pc sometimes freeze like sound starts squeak & mouse cursor lagging & time at pc is slowing down (1 sec takes more than 1 sec). And I have to reboot and it's fine again. It happens anytime (pc games, web brosing, idle...).

Specs:
i7 920 @3,5GHz + HT on
Asus rampage II gene
GTX275
Kingston hyperX 2x3GB
Corsair 750W
WD Raptor + 2 storage discs
W7 x64 full updated

tried:
- I have new set of rams (changed from adata 3x1GB)
- default bios settings
- reinstall windows 7 x64

-cooling FIXED

At full load that CPU temperature seems reasonable but dropping the temperature wouldn't hurt, but the North and South bridge temperatures seem way too high! What case are you using? Fans? etc
 
for NB & SB just original passive cooling, for cpu i have nh-c12p but i ordered nh-u12p with double fans.

But this problem is at default 2,6GHz settings too :/

i have 80°C limit at bios on sb&nb. I wanna have them lower, but question is how.. some more fans, or another chipset cooling.. I dont wanna spend more money on pc now. :/
 
I am pretty sure the regular temp range for the NB and SB should be under 50c. That indicates a problem to me, such as poor case ventilation etc. What other temps are you getting? Have you tried hardwaremonitor?

CPU 65-69°C

under prime95 - mix test, lot of ram tested

using that hardware monitor :)
 
btw: motherboard has leds for temp signature.. and its still green (ok)
 
65 - 69 pretty hot for that cpu as well. What case do you have? How many case fans, and size do you have? Have you cleaned the case out recently?

i just use nf-p12-1300 noctuas
 
oh,dear. The Rampage II GENE. I had one, horribly inadequate NB and M.O.S.FET cooling :( I had to devote a 80mm fan, and later 2 120mm fans blowing across the "unified heatsink" in order to keep temps below 70C, at stock clocks!!!
 
Ok nb and sb are 55°C now in full load (15min in occt), but still getting 7f

this is bluescreen of that freeze.. 7f should be bad timing from my side (i switched rams without bios settings change)

old had 9-9-9-24 and new has 9-9-9-27
 
There is a possibility, if you've exhaustively tested the RAM, is that the CPU is the issue: Remember that the RAM controller is located on the CPU now. So if that's defective, you could have RAM related problems.

With that said, I think it might be the mobo
 
i will try prime95 over night to test cpu, will see if that cpu is good

Sorry, should have told you: Those CPU tests may not show an actual memory controller issue. In every case I've seen a memory controller issue with the Core i series CPUs, they usually had to RMA the CPU first to find out the issue.

But try a different mobo if you can.
 
Ok. I will try to get some mobo for try.

Btw what about changing QPI voltage? I have it on auto (hardware monitor: 1,31 min / 1,38 max)
