Weird Hardware Problem

I have a really weird problem with my PC. I'll try to explain, basically, when I am in Firefox, and typing something (or just looking at a webpage), the mouse clicks OUT of Firefox. So say I am typing something in Firefox, like in this message box, what will happen is that the mouse will click out of it so when I type nothing pops up on the screen, I then have to click on the Firefox tab again and the mouse will pop back in and allow me to continue typing.

Does anyone know why this is happening? It happens like very 30 seconds and is very annoying. Also, it's not just with Firefox, but with other programs as well (Open office, etc.).

There are only two things that I have changed in the past couple of days:
1) I took out the 2GB x 2 sticks out and replaced them with 8GB x 2 sticks
2) I downloaded a whole bunch of Win 7 gadgets running (7 in total).

Can anyone help me out?

It's hard to explain but I don't think its the mouse. Even with a window maximized, this still happens.

Try a different mouse?
^^ Simplest thing to check, and really, the first thing I would have done.

You also could have disabled or uninstalled the gadgets very easily to eliminate that.

I can't see the memory having ANYTHING to do with this.

There aren't more than one pointing devices are there (IE: touchpad and mouse)?

Do a system restore to the point before you downloaded those widgets (or gadgets as you put it).

Ok I fixed it. All I did was delete the win 7 gadgets and the problem went away. I'm glad because it was driving me crazy, when playing a game the screen would minimize every 60 seconds or so.

Ok the problem is back again. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Any ideas what might be causing this guys? It's driving me crazy because it happens every 30 seconds or so, if I'm writing a paper or using the internet the keyboard or mouse will unclick from that program. I'm still in the program but the bar on top will go black instead of blue and I have to reclick to get back into it.

I unplugged the mouse and it still happens, so it's not the mouse.

I unplugged the keyboard and it still happens, so it's not the mouse.

I ran a virus scan and it doesn't appear to have any virus.

Any ideas??????

Got a spare drive? If so, install Windows on that drive, boot up your PC, and see if the same issue occurs. If it does, then it's some weird hardware problem. If it doesn't, then there's some OS or software issue.
