In just a few short years, you will not have to go to the surgeon, the surgeon will come to you. OK, maybe we are not there yet, but using VR as a teaching element in many industries is surely upon us. The gist of this demonstration was that the doctor used a VR glove to control a robot arm on the other end. I hear they are doing real life vasectomy operations next week and are looking for volunteers. No charge if something goes wrong.

Hmm... I agree in a general sense, but I don't know about the whole "surgery over the internet" thing.

This is future of VR, not video games. This is one of the industries that VR well in fact revolutionize.
 
This is going to be a very cost effective way to train new surgeons. Even if they don't do the surgery over the Internet, tools like this can drastically increase the volume of surgeons that can be trained at any one time. Bringing medical costs down helps humanity as a whole.
