So long story short is I miss my SB AE-5 when compared to the onboard audio of my new board (X570 Hero).
Because of my vertically mounted gpu (necessity, not for aesthetics) I don't have room to install the sound card in the main compartment. I'm wondering if anyone thinks using a pcie-x1 riser extension would cause any issues? I wouldn't think it would as they work perfectly fine for gpu's but I figured I'd check. I'm still rocking a set of Logitech Z-5500's so I need 5.1 support.
Here's the post from my "mod" thread if anyone is interested in what I'm looking at doing.
