UPS Driver Caught On Camera

My favorite UPS stunt was when they mis-delivered a $1400 laptop. The driver swore he left it "behind the screen door". Problem is we don't have a "screen door"...

LOL, $1400 laptop and no signature required? I'd be more mad @ whom ever shipped it.

although i'm sure someone else has already mentioned it but...

he had a circular driveway to use - he probably didn't even need to back up had he pulled right in. not to mention his throw would most likely be better...i hope it wasn't fragile

I've found that having stuff delivered to my work is generally much more successful. I think UPS doesn't give a crap about residential deliveries.

Truth. I always get stuff delivered to my office. We have the UPS, FEDEX, DHL guys in there every single day. I work for the IT department for a relatively large hospital/university. I have had bad experiences in my current area all the time with stuff delivered to my apt which is 4 blocks away from my job. I never had an issue once I started having everything delivered to the office. When I lived away from center city and closer to west philly, the service was spotty across all three. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

The only difference I see is that DHL is by far the worst. They shoulda never acquired that small company responsible for their local clients. Fedex and UPS are good corporations but it comes down to the local drivers. You can have good policies and good management, but in Philly the job pool is pathetic. The only exception is DHL, they are a crapshoot from the drivers to the corporate offices. I stay away from DHL at all times and refuse to buy from anyone who only has DHL as the option.

I have plenty of horror/stupidity stories with my history of UPS and FEDEX but the only I would mention is the one that happened most recently. At our office we have a DHL guy that comes everyday to give us whatever random computer shit people order. One day he came in and 2 small boxes dropped from his uhhh, cart or whatever. I happened to be walking behind him to get to the same equipment room he was headed to. He cursed, and then kicked the two boxes away from him on hi sway to the room. I think he eventually came back for em but I'm looking at him like, "Dude. I can see you. I just saw you kick one of our boxes." What a tool....

Put these jackasses inside a large cardboard box without water and at the end of the day push them off a cliff, after being hauled in the back of a truck on a scorching day for 12 hours!!!

If thrown correctly even a sweater could break a window.

Also it should't matter what is in the package. In the time that you take the throw the package, then make sure it landed in an "presentable" manor, you could walk the few extra feet and put the package down correctly.

If you just blindly throw the package and walk away you risk having the package go into some bushes or something like that with the owners never knowing they have a package.

MAY HAVE BROKEN A WINDOW OR SOMETHING

Even if it was a simple article of clothing, this article may have been outfitted with metallic hardware easily abraded by such a careless toss...
For fucks sake, they didn't wrap it in wrapping paper. If you are going to entertain the thought that he knew it was a clothing article, at least give him the benefit of the doubt that hes not a fucking idiot.

But you DON'T fucking throw my stuff across my lawn or driveway. I don't give a damn how efficient you're trying to be. You DON'T know what's in the package. You know what they say about the word assume.

Indignant much? Do you get pissed when someone knocks your shower rag ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR?

Also, you are assuming aswell and don't even see the irony of it.

Huh. Looks like I was right.

Yep, you sure assumed well that he was pandering with no inside knowledge for himself, all the while disregarding any common sense and rationality. Good job!

what about this dont you understand? "the context" is that the customer pays the delivery persons goddamned salary (and the salary of their employer, at that) in order for their packages to be delivered in a professional manner directly into their hands. it doesnt matter if its a scrap of cloth or ten fucking fabregé eggs. THROWING shit when the ONLY TASK you have to perform is my previously stated summation, while you are being paid!! to do so no less, is unacceptable and horrifically lazy. if i caught anyone doing it, i would strangle them on principle.

Shut the fuck up. Thanks. You are potential revenue, nothing more, and definitely not an employer. Also, get off your high horse. Unless you gingerly set every piece of clothing into your dirty laundry basket... no I'm not going to explain further. Just shut up.

Yes, the customer is always right. Shipping is a service based industry, and guess what? If you piss off the customer... well you get the idea.

We're not paying a company to toss our shit around. Is it that far of a stretch to assume that if you're throwing the "obviously clothing" packages all over the place (exaggeration, I know) that you're prone to do it with valuable stuff? Take a look at the comments made by that other twit about "hahaha, you don't know what we do in the warehouse, lulz!!!!1!", and even you have to admit that it's not that unrealistic of an assumption/stereotype.

See above, Mr. Entitled Indignancy.

He jumped out of a moving vehicle, tosses the package toward the house, then jumps back in. You are telling me that there was 0% chance of him hitting a windows with the package?

The vehicle has no bearing on the throw so I don't know why you are even mentioning it. If you are unable to underarm toss a shirt down a driveway, I feel sorry for you.

although i'm sure someone else has already mentioned it but...

Perhaps he didn't want to be liable for driving a giant ass shipping truck through someones driveway because there is a possibility to either a) hit something or b) hit someone.

HAhahah wow you are saying that boxes deserve to be treated nicely and that anyone who violates their rights deserves punishment. We should all walk a day in a cardboard box's shoes to know his struggles. haha...

...

Yes it MIGHT have broken a window. Depends on how it was folded and wrapped and how it would hit it. From the angle of the video its hard to tell for sure, but I would say that from what I could see in the video I would say the package hit the wall as it seems to reach its peak height about 60 - 70% of the way toward the house.

As for the truck moving. My point was that it isn't like he came to a stop. thought about what he was doing, picked a location to thow too... Instead he rolled up on the house, jumped out before the vehicle even stoped, toss the package toward the house probably with little more than a target of somewhere near the house and drove off. Who knows maybe he was just aiming to hit a garage door.

no thanks, i think ill keep talking as long as retards like you keep crying about shit they dont understand. any client, residential or commercial, is the sole source of income for any shipping company. you buy something and pay to have it shipped to you, you're directly paying their salary. how are you arguing with that? + im not on any kind of horse, but i DO think that people should take their jobs seriously.. if they dont, they should be fired, or their pay pro-rated for the absolute shit job they're doing, so that they have to work that much harder, because i dont know if you realize this, but people have to WORK FOR MONEY, not throw around other peoples stuff.

speaking of a sense of entitlement.. you cant just half-ass your work and expect to be praised as the noble backbone of society. try not being a hypocrite.

And how does any of that stupid ass, pointless diatribe have anything to do with your t-shirt suffering absolutely no damage? Get off the soap box and lower your nose a little.

I'm afraid you don't understand what a hypocrite is or how to properly accuse someone of being one.

Protip: You don't know how I work.

if you jump to the defense of the delivery person who ISNT doing their job properly, assuming that THEY are entitled to be judged by eased standards of work ethic, and then say that i in turn somehow have a false sense of entitlement in regards to my expectations of service, you are being contradictory and hypocritical.

what i said earlier is perfectly relevant to objects being thrown, and apparently i have to explain it to you more simply for it to sink in. how i handle my own property (as you mentioned).. is completely irrelevant, however. the "shirt" that "suffers no damage" could very well be smashed by myself with my sledgehammer as soon as i receive it, and i would be well within my rights to do so. however, whether i give a damn what i do with the item after its receipt has nothing to do with how the courier should handle it up to that point. the only way they earn their money, their ONLY JOB, is to professionally and responsibly deliver other peoples property.. so yes, i expect them to handle everything as delicately as an injured fucking butterfly.

If your shirt gets to you undamaged, you have no right to do anything but shut the fuck up. That is their ONLY commitment to you. I don't care if they violently masturbate while rubbing your package, as long as it gets to you unscathed, all you get to do is shut the fuck up. Why do you fail to understand this? You don't get to dictate anything besides it showing up to your door unharmed.

Ad hominems and swearing are cool.
