It's not hard to fake out a UPS uniform and UPS truck from the distance that camera shot was taken from.

You don't suppose it could be a "viral marketing" video from some FedEx PR contractor, do ya?
 
I've only had two really horrible experiences with deliveries.

1.) My tube amp (which is around 60+ pounds) looked like someone had dropped it from a window. The box was half crushed in and they even managed to dent 1/8" steel! No problems, UPS paid for all repairs. The process was a pain but, in the end, the amp was better than new since Cary used all premium replacements.

2.) Last Christmas, my CPU cooler arrived drenched in wine. They kindly wrapped it in a plastic bag before delivering though! That definitely was a "what were they thinking?!?!" moment, though.

My FedEx and UPS guys are pretty good overall though.
 
Srange, Im gonna break the habbit and say Ive had nothing but good with UPS and nothing but bad with Fedex. Just goes to show that all companies of all types can have an asshole working for them. And now a days, that asshole may get a job your going for even if youre more qualified. Anyways, Just saying, shit happens everywhere.

There's really no need to get all crazy because we see a so-so quality video of a guy dressed in a UPS uniform from a truck that looks like a UPS truck toss a box.

It's seems to be just a sensational video.
Don't even know if it's real or staged. Don't even know what (if anything) was in the box.

I know it's easy to say "UPS R STUPID JERKZ" or "this guy is typical UPS asshole", but think about what you do on your job and how some things you take as "shortcuts" might look if filmed out of context and delivered to an ignorant audience.

Sure, maybe that was some expensive shit in the box. But you don't know that and neither do I. Getting all up in arms from a video is certainly not the way to go.
 
LOL yes what other people said .. its not funny getting a broken package but the video was funny :eek:.. so far every package i had gotten all worked and i usually see the ups driver drops off the package..and doesn't throw it.. guess im lucky :) So did that package broke?

It HAS to be heavy to go that far. Anything light would have been flopping in the wind but this package was straight as an arrow...... looked like it has some mass to it.

That is what I was wondering. To me it looks a little too "good" to be real. I was going to ask if anyone else thought this could be a fake. Even if it was a real UPS driver and truck, it could have still been faked just as a joke video.

I know that this past summer on my way to work I passed a house that was selling a used FedEX truck. It still had the FedEX logo and everything on it. One could have easily purchased the truck, got a similar uniform to the FedEX personal and used it for something like this, or to trick people into thinking they were really with FedEX and then do something like rob them.
 
I custom ordered a laptop about one year ago. Paid almost $60 shipping charges to have it delivered the last shopping day before xmas.

The manufacturer shipped it just in time. I took off work to receive my package, of course the OOPS dude doesn't show up until almost 6pm. He turns down my street, I walk out the front door just as he slows down and drives right past me.

I didn't get my laptop until 2 days after xmas. I lost a day's income, and paid for a service I didn't receive. Needless to say that was the day I formed a lifelong vendetta against them. It's not the first time I've had horrible service from them either.

And to tell you how dumb they are, I ordered 3 telescopes and requested delivery only by my signature. The OOPS dude never knocked, or even entered into the computer that he had delivered my packages. Roughly $700 of goods sitting on my steps all day. Here's the funny part, I ordered 3 packages and 4 were delivered. The last package was from a pharmaceutical warehouse, addressed to a pharmacy. Cases and cases of prescription drugs. I mean thousands and thousands of pills.

And they do one other thing that I think is a cheap tactic. When I ship with FedEx and my package arrives at their destination distribution center early, the send it to my house anyway. I can pay for ground or 3 day, if it arrives early they just deliver it early. UPS has always held my package even when I track it and it's sitting their on final waiting to go on the delivery truck. They have never once delivered early, and more than once they have delivered late.

I hate OOPS. Long live FedEx, the real professionals.
 
Don't know what area the guy lives in, but that's how Fedex delivers around here.
 
I forgot to say, you applogists crack me up. A fake UPS truck? UPS had those trucks custom designed from the ground up, no other company uses them. ROF.
 
lol, that was actually pretty funny. Since i live in a apartment and they have to go up steps with a pretty big box, they normally can't throw mines.
 
Wow. Our UPS guy has always been great. Just recently we had 1 1/2 feet of snow. Our gravel driveway is not plowed and is barely drivable with a 4x4. He gets out and walks in the snow up our 200ft driveway, knocks on the door because he saw our cars, and hands us our packages.
 
I use to work at ups. You should have seen what we've done in those trailers in the warehouse lol. Fedex is the same way though also. I knew a friend at fedex and they unload and load the same way as ups but with no benefits. Most of the people that work in the trailers do that with the light mail. You can't really get around it since most of all companies work like this. You know these drivers that go around for fedex and ups work from morning 6am to night and a lot of them just want to get the job done to go home. You've probably seen some past 8pm because they have so many packages. Just pack them well and you should be alright. If the package is a weird size, chances are it will get crushed in the trailer lol. ;)

I sent this to all my co-workers, and each one of them cracked up just like me. Weird how that is sooooo funny (cause it's not your shit!)

This guy probably played a lot of Paperboy as a kid....
 
To be fair, that package looked like a teflon-made package designed to ship clothes. It's not like it was a box marked "fragile" or anything...

I only had that happen once (2000). Since then I've consistantly gotten 2.5day shipping from newegg, NJ, and 3days from newegg, KY. Never paying for anything other than ground shipping.

Just saying you haven't seen anything yet if your seeing just this ;). Theres a lot collateral damage done at the warehouse where cameras aren't allowed lol. Not even cell phones cameras are allowed inside.
 
Half the packages I get from UPS looks like they played soccer with the box. Just one throw across the yard would be an improvement over what I've come to expect. I guess they kick the bigger boxes to the door, and just throw the smaller ones.
 
funny thread, but you cant blame UPS. morons are everywhere, and some of them are unfortunately employed by varying companies :(

if anybody here does anything even close to a proportional equivalent of that vid at THEIR jobs, they deserve to get fired. theres no way to put that shit "in context".. rofl.
 
I suspect many shipping companies are just as bad. I live in canada, and have had trouble with Canada post and UPS. I've had such trouble with canada post lately. I've had several packages left outside my house, even though the label specifically says not to safe drop. I've complained to management. The next delivery I got ( I was not home, mom answered) the delivery guy said he got crap from his supervisor and to tell him if there is an issue, not his superiors. Yeah... right. According to the manager I spoke to, I supposedly "gave" him a note saying that it was ok to leave my packages outside. Uhm.. no

My advice is to complain, complain, complain. If you can, take pictures of your packages left outside. Most of these guys are unionized. They have to deliver a certain number of packages in a day. If they deliver them quicker, they're off for the rest of the day. That's why they do the absolute least amount of work possible in the shortest amount of time. Often, no action can be taken against the driver if there is no "proof", hence whey I suggest taking pics of your package if its in rough shape or left outside.
 
All companies have a-holes that work there. Make sure you get shipping insurance. If the package arrives damaged, or if its left unattended at your doorstep (happened many times) just claim it through delivery company's insurance. A few of those and the company will straighten right up. After I complained to management and sent in pics of my packages unattended, what do you know, no more problems.
 
That's insane, the worst i've had with a courier is they left a parcel on the door step, but that's Royal Mail, they do that : /
But i presume with the US you get a larger margin of arsehole delivery men given the size of the place lol
 
wow... i can't believe he just threw it. i'm glad my ups driver isn't like that.
 
Looks to be a bag of clothes, its not as horrible as you guys are making it out to be.

I'm not sure about Royal Mail, but Fedex/UPS/USPS can leave parcels @ the front door if the sender does not require a signature or in some circumstances a signature was left, signed, at the front door.

What's even funnier is that there seems to be UPS fanboys defending those tard drivers. :p

I just had a waste money to RMA a DOA hard drive that UPS left in the snowbank. They never even try to ring the doorbell. Must not hire drivers smart enough to push a button.

I've also had the 'attempted delivery' post-its from USPS for their 'extremely urgent' packages where they also never attempted to knock.

I guess it does make sense(for the lazy) for USPS mailman not to attempt and instead leave on of those delv. attmpt. notices in your mailbox especially @ apartment buildings(mailman doesn't want to walk with pkg through apt) because they only have to attempt once most of the time. For, FedEX/UPS drivers it really doesn't make sense as they have to make 3 delivery attempts.

Thats the opposite for me, my UPS driver is cool, known him for 15years+ now. I always prefer UPS, because FedEx wont deliver my stuff, will just drive by and put down as undeliverable, even when I'm sitting on my porch waiting for them. And DHL wasnt anybetter, they would leave thousands of dollars of parts on my porch or at my gate, and drive off, I'm so glad they went outta business in the US.
