upgrade sata cables needed?

Getting an OCZ vertex 3 which is SATA 3 6.0 g/b. Do I need to get sata 3 cables to take advantage of this? Thx.

So I can use existing cables but they recommend "quality components..."? So what is it: do I need to upgrade my cables to the rather expensive SATA 3 ones? (or perhaps the OCZ drive comes with SATA 3 cables?)

I would assume a SATA cable is a SATA cable; however, I've noticed in recent new motherboard kits there are both SATA II and SATA III cables. Why would there be different cables if it's all the same?

So they can charge more or sound like you need them. Every SATA cable is electrically the same, the newer/better ones have the metal retention clips that is about it.

All SATA cables are the same, there will be no difference, aside from the amount of money you spend on them. ;)
 
Its the same situation as during the late 80's, when every product even remotely associated with electronics plastered the word "DIGITAL" on the package (even, comically, analog audio cables.)
 
All SATA cables are capable of all SATA speeds but you can buy cables with a little larger wire, locking ends, and nicer exterior coatings.

Probably just a bit of extra shielding on the SATAIII cables.

The metal clip is the greatest advancement in SATA cables.
