on newegg thermaltake toughpower psu are about 110 after rebate and modular are these good psu..

It really does depend pm the specific model.
If you have a specific model you want, you can probably get very good user feedback on it here.

For me, the main difference would be noise: I don't own that TT PSU, but no Thermaltake product I've owned has been quiet. The Corsair PSU on the other hand is silent.

The second biggest difference would be type of cabling, the cables on the Thermaltake are round and sleeved, like most PSU's, while the Corsair PSU's is a bit different, I forgot the name for it, but take a look in the screenshot. I like it more than sleeves cables, easier to manage.

I don't know how they compare in terms of electrical performance, but someone around here probably will.

I also don't have any experience with Thermaltake in terms of support, but Corsair's is excellent.

I should note that I have the 520W model.

Also, do you really need the 620? Post your system specs. The 520 will probably be enough.

I was always under the impression that the Corsair VX550 & TX750 were based on the CWT TTTP platform.

I was always under the impression that the Corsair VX550 & TX750 were based on the CWT TTTP platform.

I know they're both CWT builds, but they've proven very solid designs so I wouldn't let that scare you off. I'm not certain if they're TTTP platform or not.

All the other Corsairs (the HX line) are SeaSonic builds, in so far as I know. The 520HX and 620HX at least. The 1000HX, not so sure.

and why would u go with a corsair 620 modular or 750 non modular instead of TT750 modular

Because in the event I would have issue I know Corsair's customer service is excellent and I don't have to deal with who you bought the PSU from, I get to deal directly with Corsair.

wats the difference
<snip>

The difference between the two Thermaltake PSUs you listed is that one is modular and the other one isn't. They're virtually the same PSU just with different cables.

People go with lower wattage but modular PSUs simply to avoid cable management issues.

Go with the modular Thermaltake PSU if you like. It's a good PSU:

However if modular is not a major factor, I recommend getting the Corsair 750TX for $100 before rebates:
Corsair 750TX 750W PSU - $98

I'm using a Thermaltake Toughpower 700w psu currently while I await a Corsair warranty replacement.

It runs VERY quiet (can't even hear it over my case fans) & cool (the exhaust air temp is ~ 85 deg F at idle) in my rig,
although my system isn't stressing it much (I'm only using about 1/2 it's rated output).

Best part (besides running quiet/cool) is that it was only $80 after MIR.

I am very happy with my Toughpower 750w modular. It's remarkably quiet. While on a quest for a modular power supply, I was about to pull the trigger on the 620HX when I found the Toughpower for $99 at Fry's on special.
