Transformers: War for Cybertron

Yeah, I was expecting Welker to voice Megatron. I also expected a lot of random "Yes" statements at the end of Megatron's sentences. :p

Frank Welker was not the voice actor that did the Megatron who kept saying "YESSS".

Hey, I just had an awesome idea. I'm going to mute the music and play the Transformers the Movie (1986) soundtrack over top of it!

Can you invite a friend to Co-op/DM games on PC??

A friend told me no. That it's completely random.

I refuse to believe that.

Surely there's some kind of 'invite buddy to a match' system.

Hmm I just bought it and mine crashes as soon as I started it. Anyone else having problems?

I'm having this problem as well. My system is reporting it's an issue with PhysX, but uninstalling and reinstalling it the PhysX software hasn't helped at all.

Anybody find a workaround for this?

Ya you can. You add your buddy as a friend and you can invite to co-op. You can even form a group with him and then go look for a multiplayer game and it pulls your friends with you.

Oh man, this game so made me sad when I heard megatron's voice. When the credits began and it had Cullen's voice, I was like OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG this is totally going to be a classic remake. Then it got bad.

only one complaint so far

WHY 3RD PERSON SHOULDER VIEW WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Its pretty similar, but you can tell there is some significant difference to it. Its not quite the Megatron I grew up hearing.

It was pretty damned close. I watched the 1986 movie yesterday in fact. Sounds pretty damned close to his voice in that movie.

That's the way many third person games are going. I think the reason for it is so you can get a better view of the area in front of the character. Batman Arkham Asylum did the same thing.

Does the MP have dedicated servers?

No.

I never said he was. :)

No, that's Chris Latta. He did the voices for Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe as well as Starscream. Early on he also did the voice of Reflector and a few other Transformers.

Ah yaaaa

I've got a good video for you.

Anyways.. bought this game.

I would call it.

Gears of Transformers. And that's not a bad thing.. Great Game. And not 60$.. And its an Activision game. Is Activision going in the right step now? Or just figured suckers wouldn't pay 20$ more for this.

I think the Unreal Engine actually was a good match for Transformers in general.

No, they are talking about Beast Wars Megatron, voiced by David Kaye. BW Megatron said: "Yeesssss" at the end of every line, ie: "We will crush Optimus Primal, yesssss...."

Starcream never did that, although he did say "yes mighty megatron" often.

Beat the decepticons levels and first level of autobots. I can honestly say. This game is better then batman. It has good story. Good gfx. the voices. but where it shines is the gameplay.. its a blast to play and just isnt a one button masher like batman. ( I did enjoy the stealth parts of batman.. But the combat was meh ). Plus the mulitplayer gives it another plus. I recommend this game for all Transformers fans.

Speaking of Beast Wars, I would love to see a new game for that, maybe revive the series altogether and start playing it on TV again. I think they had a game way back, not too sure about that, but BW was always my second-favorite TF series after the original because it was directly tied to G1 in a sense.

I was thinking about Cobra Commander who often said yessssss after being turned into an actual snake.

Yuck. Beast Wars sucked ass.

I'd be happy with new DVD releases since the old Rhino releases are out of print and insanely expensive. Be nice to see Shout! Factory get it and give it a cool series release like they did for G1 and G. I. Joe.

I liked BW somewhat back in the day. But almost all computer animation for television made before the recent Clone Wars series is painful to look at. Especially stuff from the late 90s like Reboot and Beast Wars.

Ok, now that I finally played it...Fun game but the textures sure do suck. And I cant figure out for the life of me to get this damn game to span across both monitor!

30 fps limit makes this a no buy for me. subscribed to this thread to keep an eye out for a fix in the future..

Reboot has aged a little better than Beast Wars, but yeah its not so great to look at now. Though I find the CG Clone Wars series to be pretty horrendous looking as well.

I just got this game today. I ran into the "Missing PhysXloader.dll" problem or something to that effect. Just in case anyone else runs into that problem here's how I fixed it because reinstalling PhysX didn't work...

Copy the entire contents of:
C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common
to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Transformers - War for Cybertron\Binaries

I suppose if there's anyone out there who isn't running 64bit Vista or Win 7 it would probably be:
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common
to:
C:\Program Files\Activision\Transformers - War for Cybertron\Binaries

I watched Transformers The Movie (1986 one of course! On top of that a 1080p version) for the first time in probably 10 years this morning to get me all hyped up for the game. It hasn't aged as well as I remember but it was still enjoyable.

Alright first impressions other than being annoyed that the game wouldn't load due to the missing PhysXloader.dll...

I've only completed the 1st chapter. It's pretty fun though seems a bit repetitive but that's a shooter for ya. I'm trying to get the hang of the ammo balancing. I know there's crates around some places but it sometimes seems like there isn't enough.

I don't have a problem with the melee button being the mouse wheel click. I was worried about that but it hasn't been much of a big deal for now.

The FOV seems weird. I generally don't bitch about FOV if ever... It actually reminds me of Bioshock 2's FOV even though TFWFC is 3rd person and BS2 is 1st person. I can't put my finger on it but it's "too forward", I dunno.. feels like I'm trying to look at the tip of my nose or something. It's not bad, just weird is all. Maybe it's due to my lack of sleep today. haha

I am having fun running around as Megatron shooting the shit out of everything.

Probably the 2 biggest disappointments are Megatron and Starscream's voices. They should've found someone who could come close to the originals instead of them being like the Michael Bay movies. Oh well, not a huge deal but it would've been more fan service for us old timers.

To someone who has beaten the game: does it actually become difficult? I'm on the last chapter with the Decepticons and so far it has been a breeze.

I wouldn't want anyone trying to imitate Chris Latta's Starscream voice. It would likely not come off as well and only end up sounding terrible. However, I liked Micheal Dobson's Starscream from Armada. They should have gone with him or at least someone that sounds better than the current one.

No the game isn't overly difficult. The boss fights are the hardest thing and they aren't that difficult. They were actually fun for me. Usually boss fights annoy me but these didn't.

Mhm. Just got past Zeta Prime (I'm taking my time with the game) and it was a really neat boss battle. The mid-boss of that level was cool too. And next stage is Omega Supreme. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they deal with him.

Very well. I was quite impressed with how Omega Supreme was portrayed and used in the game. It's also one of the more challenging parts of the game.

Just beat the Decpeticon campaign and I agree. Some parts felt a tad tedious, but the last chapter of that campaign was just down right awesome. Game is fairly easy, but that battle could get challenging at times. Well the second part at least, until you figured out easy ways to avoid the attacks. Most of the weapons they give you suck though. However the turret worked wonders.

I never touched the turret when dealing with Omega Supreme. That always got me killed. Instead I did hit and runs using Megatron's fusion cannon or the X-12 Scrapmaker.

HEADS UP!

Rename your TWFC.exe to UT3. exe and you can enable AA/AF on ATI cards.

Huzzah!

ut32010062821022605.png

Doesn't that look better :)

Also, use "GRebind" to remap your keyboard (you can create a profile for your TWFC/UT3.exe) Then, I used my mouse software and created a profile with remapped
buttons etc.

This is how it should've been outta the box.
