Well I finally put the heatsinks on the motherboard, I need to get the little ones but all I had was the big ones. Took some pics of the build :D Been wanting to post on here for a few years now. Just need a 1100t and a new video card, dont know what yet.

Lol you gotta resize that pic bro. I was confused why you posted a bottle of whisky till saw the sidebar.

If you are familiar with the case, it has small slot for a floppy drive. I placed a 2tb seagate hard drive there. And I have an intel 80gb ssd mounted beside via custom mounting. They are basically to the left of the resevoir and fan controller, and vertically mounted. The only thing that isnt internal is the optical drive, had to buy those usb slim drives

Seeing all of these SFF setups has me going that route my next build. Small, sleek, minimalist design, and that it can fit on my desk will be nice to have. My current Lian Li monster is almost the size of my desk. :(

I've posted the whole set of images of this rig of mine on a more ITX-gaming-centric board, but I'll contribute a few of them to this thread as well:

Let's see if you can guess the specs from these images :)

^^^ What's with all the heatsinks stuck on the PSU?

That's where the PSU's internal heat spreader makes contact with the outer wall of the PSU, which seems to be part of the VRM cooling system, as there is Thermal grease in that area on the inside.
I figured it'd make it cooler. In every way :)

Here is my current rig:

Dworley is back!? And another awesome setup. The GTX 590 looks sick in the shuttle.

That's exactly what I was going to say. I heard through the grapevine that he threw a GTX590 into SOMETHING. Nice to know he still swings by and updates us with his awesomeness.

Thanks for the compliments!

Even with the internal 500W PSU powering only 1 8-pin power connector on the 590 - the tiny PSU fan is the loudest thing in the system as it is working full bore when I fire it up for gaming.

The only changes that I made to this system from when I was running the GTX 295, are a 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD and I added the Thermaltake Drive bay PSU.

Here's some more pics:

possibly because the 6990 is 1" longer. it doesnt look like theres an inch to spare there.

I would have bought a 6990, but unfortunately it will not fit in the Shuttle. (as mentioned it is about 1" too long) :(

Little quite machine I built for work

i32100 on gigabyte MB, 8 gigs of ram, stock cooler for now
Want to do Zalman flower kind of cooler to make use of vertical air flow with no CPU fan.

Case is 2x 230 mm fans at 600 rpm, some home depot rods and nuts, and lexan as MB tray, HDD mounted to Lexan on reverse side.

haha, thats awesome! what do you use this rig for?

ptrout,

Great job there, Love it...working on something a little similar with vertical airflow. Will post a thread when it's done.

Best,

LC

Thanks LC, that 150 pico worked out great, going to put in a small 18mm nixie clock in there.
Looking forward to your build.

Chronodog; Yeah I am debating which one....9300 9500 9700 or 9900 series.
They are $40~70 and not sure if they will fit due to the ram. As you can see in the pic, there are big heatsinks on those puppies. I don't think diameter will be a problem, but height from the base might be.

I just wish I could get info its fitment on ref 1155, mitx boards.

ptrout -- you should mod a chimney starter for that badboy :D the ultimate manputer, it grills too!
