Thanks to the new beta bios, no more cold boot issues, so I can now stay at 3Ghz. Actually got to 3.2Ghz, but Orthos failed at 4 hours 12 minutes so I didn't bother taking a screenshot.

Oh bugger, I should've posted this earlier, sorry mate.

Pushed it a little farther. Hesitated because after 7 hours of Orthos my computer locked up. Realized that AVG had just kicked on to do a scan. (Whilst I was browsing the 'net as well.

UPDATE on my chip. Well it looks like 1.4volts is a go at 3.4ghz. So far this chip seems to be the best one for lowest volts with a high oc. Also running vista now, I really don't feel like going any higher as this seems to be a nice setup. My ram was the issue with stability as this OCZ says it will do 1066 but you need to put 2.3v in it and I don't really want to fry my board or ram.

Here is a a close of up for the pic so for further proof:

athlonxp... did you lap your processor / hs? how are you able to achieve such low load temps? your are cooling solution is a bit better than mine... but shouldn't be by 25 degrees worth, should it?

well i have 2 things working for me.. 1 I have the thermalright Ultra 120 extreme, and second I had my windows open and it was in the 50's overnight so my room was nice and cool. Normal load temps are around 45c.

At first I was unwilling to push my e4300 this far, because each time I did, Speedfan would show my CPU temp @ over 100C... however, I soon realized that the first two temps in Speedfan were completely wrong, after looking at the Core temps and the Core Temp application. So I ran Orthos for 8+ hours, and it's stable, no overheating.

UPDATE: Got it up to 3271 now. This might be the highest it can go and still remain stable, I tried 3300+ and programs started randomly crashing in Windows. Unsure if more voltage would help at that point, but don't know if I want to run it that hot on a daily basis. I'm thinking of adding another fan to the mix to see if I can get the CPU any cooler, and if it works, I might try and push it a little more. We'll see.

Infact I do not see any "2 L2" E6400's in the data base. Is this a miss print?

Yea 70c is is too hot. I don't know if I'd be running as much voltage to your core as you have if I was on air. That's pretty high for just air cooling, and it goes to show in your temps. Maybe you should lower your voltages.

You need to get that chip on water or lower the freq. and voltage. What does coretemp say?

core temp says both cores to be at full load at 58c to 60c

My questions is what is temp2 on speedfan and PWM IC on smartguardian monitoring cause they're monitoring the same amount of heat.

I do have a stable oc at 3.5Ghz at 10 hours orthos and the details on that one are:

1.45 vcore
core 0 and core 1 are at 54c at full load
but temp2 and PWM IC are both at 62c at full load, so does anyone know whats the rated amount of heat that both of this can tolerate?

Temp 2 should be your NB or SB temperature.

so what temps can a NB and SB tolerate? Also on the configure option on speedfan it does mention that temp1, temp2 and temp3 are all monitoring some chip called IT8712F and lastly smartguardin it was something called chipset at 254c at full load on 3.6ghz

you should add some 40mm fans on your nb and sb, try to stay under 50 degree c

I can't even get Orthos stable at 3480Mhz and 1177, let alone 3500 / 1203 (as posted above) on the memory for more than 10 minutes.

I may have to start fishing around in the 3450 / 1150 range.
.......not like those are bad waters to fish in, but still.

I can't quite get my ram to hit 1200 yet, and I can get 3.4 on my CPU but it's not quite stable enough..I need a better cooler than the stock Intel that I have..

I've been able to get my RAM to 1242Mhz with a slight bump in voltage and I've booted into Windows at 3580Mhz on the CPU, but could not get Orthos or Prime stable with either of those settings.

Interesting to note that I'm able to boot 3.5Ghz / 875Mhz with 3-4-4-10 timings and 4-4-4-12 timings at 1125Mhz, but neither of those timings give me better SuperPi scores at the slower clock speeds.

In addition to that, I actually lose performance (slightly) when I go from 1200Mhz up to 1242Mhz and run SuperPi. Lol.

**Mascaras, you need a 4-hour screenshot for Prime or Orthos. 1 Hour will only get you on the waiting list like me. ;)
