The next NFS installment: Shift

i dont think many people do research on the web for a graphic card purchase or go to bestbuy and buy a $200MSRP (at least) video card...

in other words, PC gaming isn't a developer's priority unless it's a "real-time strategy" game. lolzzz

When developers trying to cover as many platforms as possible, the end results are usually poor performance for all :(

Not all console racing games are junks. GT and Forza are worthy simulation racing games.

This one has to be good or NFS is done as a series. Undercover sucked ASS.

I agree with this. ^

The NFS series has been on a downhill slop in quality and "funness" with the last 2 or 3 games.
I hope this one makes somewhat of a turnaround.
(I feel like Grid blew the last NFS out of the water)

GRID is really cool game with the car selection and arcade feel, but for some reason the car stops accelerating whenever you turn (even slightly)....

had to uninstall after that...

Graphically Shift is gorgeous and joystiq's first impressions were pretty positive, but the finished product's effect remains to be seen. Graphically (as much as I hate to say it) it blows Forza 2 out of the water.

Those in-car views look pretty detailed. Just hope the end product looks as good. For some reason the last few NFS games look alot nicer in screenshots than the game itself. Maybe its just me....

Yeah, but they're still designing it under the NFS name and EA is going to have say in what is/is not going to be in the game. But yeah, Blimey is a good developer.

Shift will be more simulator that crappy Arcade/consol racing. So they thrown out the arcade garbage that had no realism in the way things act and made it pure hardcore racing.
Finally we will get a title worth the name and a worthy sucsessor to Porsche 2000. It only took nine years.

it's true, it's called marketing.

They are making 3 seperate NFS games, together. This is one of them.
This is all after they said, what 3 months ago, that the NFS series was taking a hiatus. Talk about talking out their ass....

Oh well... they took the developers that made GTR and RACE 07 from Simbin, and now they are making this.... I guess we will see. Please no EA Trax..... EA games are the only games I ever have to turn the music completely OFF. Awful junk.

GRID is only fun if you actually have a wheel and pedal. NFS games are played with WASD.

Very few people own a wheel and pedal.

Btw, MW was the best NFS game ever made.

That is a good thing, that they make a real game for wheels for those who wants it and a crappy one for those with gamepads and keybord that needs a game with zero feeling to be playable with that controller. It also means that you can play one NFS seriously and one arcadegame just for the fun of it with no feeling when you just want to kill some time.

It is a matter of priority, some buy a gamepad for shitload of money for what cheap piece of plastic it realy are and other put the money in a wheel, no need for a ACT-LABS, red MOMO, G25 or the more expensive ones but you can get one for cheap.
Most other games can be played with keyboard without losing the feeling, but racinggames cant be played right without a wheel and FF with the feeling still there.

That is what makes NFS games except Porsche 2000 crappy that they need to make it that bad to be playable without the manditory wheel/pedal and why the retarded MW are "the best" is nothing that makes sence when you can take a sharp corner at full speed and pedal to the floor without losing it in thou the wall that is the thing that would be the result in a normal racinggame.

isn't this game being made by some of simbin guys? i guess this would tide me over in the sim style racing till gta5 or fm3 come out. looks great so far!

Most Wanted was the best one, every single NFS after that was a dud, they ran shitty on any pc, cops werent a real threat, graphics were worse than MW, Im in love with GRID!

yes it is being made by blimey ie the real brains behind GTR2

No its not.
Slightly Mad Studios was founded by veterans of SimBin and Blimey!, and is said to include "the core development team" responsible for the GTR racing sim series.

Blimey! is doing some other stuff...

No, every NFS after that has ran good on "any PC" but Porsche 2000 still rules them all. Cops are stupid and "catch-up" feature retarded. MW dont look good at all.

but if you're really into your racing games, even on a semi casual basis, you will already have a wheel and pedals. I really couldn't see playing using wasd, if anything even a cheapo gamepad would be better than that.

I'm gonna do a little necroposting here...

The combination of that car list along with Silverstone, SPA and Nordschleife, I can see me lugging around my Logitech Driving Force Pro to lans for this game. Now I hope there are an assload of options when making a lan game.

i hope this has a gtr feel...the only racing game i still play is nr2003 season with some tastey mods. ive tried gtr and liked it...but something about it didnt move me over yet.

NFS shift with some good physics + the graphics they have shown so far + mod support would be fantastic...

if not...maybe ill cave for GTR anyway? lol

If you're looking for a real nascar sim, check out Arca Sim Racing, it's the best thing since NR2003, and really it's like the NR 2009 version.

Great online racing, I'm in an online league and we have 20+ cars in our weekly races.

Don't Forget guys that Criterion is taking a swing at the series this time...edit never mind Black Box is still doing it... probably not buying it then... Black Box has made the past two NFS's that were total shit...

Holy shit, this can't be real! Please don't suck, please don't suck. It's sooo pretty! Image 25 looked pretty realistic. I really hope this game plays as well as it looks. I wonder if it will play smoothly on my current setup? Two more weeks to find out!

I'll have to read up on this...looks pretty good. it appears to be a one time fee and done - is that the case? iRacing is awesome too, but its not worth the subscription to me...

are there more leagues than just what is listed on the main site for the game?

thanks...
