The Day Before

“I never saw it as an MMO project,” they began. “No one from our team knows why they called it an MMO. It was always a third-person shooter with some co-op mechanics. Not one RPG mechanic was implemented — skills were an idea, and they were in the prototype stage, but nothing more.”

“No one could explain that. Maybe the CEOs knew something and didn’t tell us. Technically speaking, there were no RPG mechanics implemented. There was no possible way to put a lot of people in the world or make the world bigger. From the beginning, the idea was that servers would be under 100 people — that is not an MMO. No clans, no raids, closed hubs. It’s been that way for over two years,” they explained.

These useless twats could have leaked this info before release (they knew the game was a scam), they are only throwing Fntastic under the bus now because the game failed.
No one at this company has a shred of integrity.

What is it with gamers and killing zombies? Why are they so fascinated with them?
One of my favorite kind of games to play. I have always loved zombie movies as well. Hard to really explain why someone likes a thing.

Guess they were scared that they would be narced out by their co-workers since they all had to sign NDA's.

Watching videos of this game, ubi shoukd just to a zombie dlc for divison and it would be everything people wanted.

Based on their tax filings in Singapore it looks like the brothers were just stealing money from their publisher.
150k/yr salary for each brother, 200k/yr on "travel expenses" for each. They pocketed everything they could, and fucked off to Russia.

Scamming gamers was just a side effect of the trailers going viral.

Servers shutting down January 22.

The Day Before Team Fntastic Are Back, Asking For $15K To Develop New Game

In a new post on X: "Everyone deserves a second chance. We deeply apologize to everyone for The Day Before and take full responsibility for what happened." In addition to their apology, they posted a link to their website, with the title being "The Fntastic Plan for Recovery"

The new game that they are developing is called Escape Factory and is a new game in the Prop Hunt genre...to develop this game, they have created a Kickstarter, asking the community to help fund the game...if they do not reach the funding goal, they have stated they will be unable to return...if the fundraiser does not meet the specified goal, all funds raised will be fully refunded...

This is really weird they should just get a bank loan.

That website is so janky. If you fall for that, you deserve to get scammed.

Maybe they are disappointed Concord failed faster then they could with their game.

They don't deserve a second chance, not because TDB was a scam but because it was a scam company.
They abused "volunteer" work and denied payments to employees. Everyone who worked at Fntastic before the closure has nothing but terrible things to say about it.

The two conman brothers spent hundreds of thousands on "travel expenses" and likely belong in jail. Which is probably why they fled to Russia.
