Its cs for ut! played it for about a hour. IT ROCKS!!!!! The graphics are soooo sweet. Only probly is there is no servers for it. So everyone stop palying cs and bf2 and go get this game!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Please do not SHOUT IN ALL CAPS IN THREAD TITLES HERE, OKAY?????????? - Lethal

HA! Bf looks like shit. WELL at least on my machine it does. It needs so much memory so i have to run it at low setting. looks JUST LIKE bf1. Blah. This game's graphics are fuckign l33t. Cuse unreal is l33t.

Strikeforce is cool, we started playing it about a year ago. I like it alot better than CS but it was taking too long to get new maps out and I got bored so I haven't played it for a while.

LOL!! I love the fake backdrop at the edge of the map. Truth is, yes it will look like shit if you run it on low settings. You are completely wrong thinking it looks like BF1.

I like CS enough as it is. There's only two things in CS that bug me, and that's hackers and the fact that all the weapon names are weird (but that's not really a gameplay issue...and that's to prevent copyright infringement, so...)

Frag Ops could have been a CS killer but these UT mods have a very small following.

I got bored within thee seconds of opening that webpage. Sorry, this looks mor eof the same boring mindless fragging CS shit that we could all do without

For me it has been at least a dozen CS killers since CS was published.

I just hope that Strike Force is not like a CS copy. Oh man this game rocks it´s CS on a new game engine

CS1.6 has a pretty flawless gameplay for competition use.

Though this Strike Force thing looks appealing, but it doesn't have the simpleness that CS1.6 has. I don't think it's gameplay is very appealing. It'll feel the same as say, CoD or something.

Don't knock BF2 because your pc is inadequate.

Here is a screenshot w/o AA.

The only game that has come close to being a CS killer is CS:S.

CS is in a league of it's own, so to speak. I don't think anything will kill/beat/take it's place.

BF2 is a great game. But the single player and online play blow. The server browser was put together by labotomized monkeys. BF2 also lags like a bitch on line and it has definate balance and damage calculation problems. CS:S is a rehash of a late 90's game that wasn't all that great to start with in my book.

I will give this a try.

Amazing how people think this. Its your opinion and if you have fun with that game thats great. Personally I believe CS and CS:S are the most overrated pieces of shit to ever grace the PC gaming community.

They are technically lacking in so many areas. First the graphics aren't anything amazing at all. Second the physics aren't anything to write home about. The guns are out of balance, the bunny hopping wallhacker crowds they use to have didn't do it for me either.

Plus you can't go prone, theres no zoom function for anything but the sniper rifles, it lacks wether effects, you can't open doors or use anything in the levels themselves. Not really. So the enviroments are totally uninteractive.

CS:S is somewhat prettier than the original, but come on. The pile of shit didn't even ship with *ONE* new map. Totally unacceptable in my book. The game has nothing that a modern FPS should have. The gameplay bites. What's this buying weapons crap? Nothing but annoying. After getting killed, you have to wait for the next respawn quite awhile. This blows.

I used to play the game some when it was new and didn't get much into it then. Can't really stand CS:S either. I played it a little, but found it to be the same thing I played in 99 or whenever CS came out.

Good for you, however, you are in the minority saying that CS is a piece of shit. Millions of people still playing it beg to differ. Just because you suck at CS doesn't mean it sucks.

I knew someone would mouth off like a complete ignorant jackass and say its because I suck as CS. How you reached this conclusion is beyond me. I am pretty good at every FPS I've ever played. Not the best, by any means. However I usually place in the top 5 or top 3 in every FPS I play online. I just don't like CS and Its called an opinion. Just because my opinion of CS isn't a good one doesn't automaticaly mean I am not good at it.

I know plenty of people that think CS sucks. Some are pretty good at FPS's and just don't like it. I do admit that I am a minority in that reguard. It is in my opinion one of the worst FPS games I've ever played. It has none of the things I've come to expect from modern FPS games.

While it isn't the popluar opinion its my opinion. Thats the same thing thats been happening in alot of the anti-BF2 threads. Some people can't accept that their favorite game isn't loved by all.

In fact we've got a post just like that in this very thread!!!!

Alot of people have been saying to indivuduals who have a diverging opinion of BF2 that its a problem with their computer sucking and them sucking at the game. When this isn't true at all. Some people aren't going to like all the games you do.

"The color of the menu screen isn't right, the sound the buttons make when you click them is awful..."

You just listed about 8 things that don't affect gameplay at all. Would de_aztec be a better map because you can press E and swing the doors open? How are the guns out of balance? Why are physics essential to your enjoyment of the game; did Tetris have amazing ragdoll-kinestix-explosier-physix(TM)? Would the game be more fun if everybody could just pick whatever weapon they wanted, every round? Hell, why not let them pick two main guns and 3 pistols? Would weather effects on cs_office somehow enhance your experience? Why do you need to have a zoom on an MP5 when the maps are made to be able to be played by 10 people?

And to show you the absurdity of your last argument, I'll just bold the part that I, personally, find amusing: the bunny hopping wallhacker crowds they use to have didn't do it for me either.

I don't even like CS any more, but most of your arguments make it clear that you apparently don't even care about gameplay, only graphics and gimmicky physics. Getting an XBOX360?

P.S. Ron1jed, why do we need a mod that makes UT into CS when UT is TEH BEST GAME EVARZ!!!111two?

I have played CS:S since it came out (with HL2). It is addicting but I really grew tired of sucking at it. Or at least that's what I'm told is the problem with the game. Nothing like unloading an entire clip into the opponents back only to have them turn around and cap you in the head with one shot. I'm like wtf? I guess I suck? How can I still be a NOOB after all this time? No, everyone else say's I suck, it couldn't be the game.....

So.... on to BF2. Although it is quite buggy and isn't running right on some peoples rigs yet I actually enjoy playing it. I guess because I don't suck anymore? When I shoot a shell from my cannon and it lands next to the enemy they actually die now. If I shoot someone from point blank range they die. OMG I don't suck anymore! If I wound the enemy but someone else get's the final shot I still get some credit for my work. Shit I don't suck anymore! ......

Oh yeah and I think that CS:S was making me obsessive compulsive. Spawn DIE! Wait..... Spawn DIE Wait..... But then again I sucked!

Strike force fucking sucks,

There is no game that can even compare to Cs 1.6

I've been having issues in BF2 trying to kill people point blank, unload a clip and they turn around and pop me.
I still play it since it has some cool weapons, like the explosive charges with the remote.

I listed some things that do bother me about CS. As far as gameplay, I don't like it. For some reason I do not enjoy the game. Gameplay is important to me. What I listed are the things I think are missing from CS:S. Interactive enviroments is about gameplay? What part of that don't you understand? Effects, and graphics are part of the experience also. Not the end all and be all of the experience but definatley part of that.

Weather effects wouldn't enhance an office map. Who's being absurd? Did you really think that's what I meant?

Outdoor maps would be more immersive if there was some weather, and some lighting to go with them. Its just a preference of mine. I think CS and CS:S are the most repetative and boring games I've ever played. What's absurd about the bunny hopping that they had to curb in the game? I didn't like it. Even though they took that out, I still don't like the game.

Why would a zoom view have anything to do with 10 player maps? Its a feature I like thats in every modern FPS I play with the exception of UT2K4. As far as interactive maps, again its called immersive gameplay. If your a big CS fan you'd have no idea what that is. But I like going into buildings and having more freedom in the games I play. Pardon me for likeing the idea of games that offer more than what CS does.

A massively immersive multiplayer game would be nice. And what was this stupid XBox 360 comment? I never said squat about a console. I also have no plans to buy one.

I have the same issues. I've noticed its not nearly as bad in lan play as it is online. Don't know whats up there.

I agree with the first part. I tried it and the UT style gameplay just doesn't fit the game very well. The graphics aren't very good either. The weapon models were excellent though.

As far as a no game comparing to CS 1.6 I disagree. I think just about every game out there is better. That however, is just an opinion.

CS was never supposed to be immersive, or realistic. That's not cs. It's more or less a team deathmatch type game, and it'll stay that way. CS is popular because it's not overly immersive or realistic like Raven Shield, or BF2 or whatever. This is why CS:S is such a huge failure, it didn't capture the essence of CS1.6, it strayed too far out from its roots.

Regardless, competitions is where CS1.6 REALLY shines. And it attracts alot of people. Just a week ago, a regular season match of a very popular tournament/league attracted over 10million viewers on tv in Seoul, Korea.

Big deal, that's Seoul right? Well, last year the finals for CPL had over 50,000 viewers worldwide on HLTV. Not cable tv, not satellite tv, but HLTV.

I read this:

Game said:
20) Aiming Your Weapon
Strike Force has a unique aiming system. The default weapon position is at the hip. If you were in real combat or patrolling you would carry your weapon at your side. This also allows you to move at a faster pace. Once your close to the enemy you will need to aim your weapon. To do this simply hit your right mouse button. This will bring the weapon up to your shoulder and it will place a crosshair on your screen. The aiming system will also slow down your player movement for better accuracy.

And instantly new the gameplay would be shit.

Regardless of Cstrike's quality, or any other game's quality for that matter... why do people get the idea that only a clone of cstrike can somehow beat cstrike?

Let's put things into perspective. The only reason Counter-Strike got so big in the first place was because it was a relatively new experience, fairly balanced, and accessible to MOST people with a PC.

I don't see how a game which mimics the experience will result in a game that steals the cstrike community's attention. A few? Sure. Most? As if. "Why should I play Strike Force when I already have Cstrike?" It doesn't matter what the answer to that question is, it is rhetorical. There is no reason to play strike force if you are already immersed in Cstrike. Well, maybe, but to the casual gamer it's not going to happen. It will require a new idea that is accessible to most PC users before Cstrike is officially dethroned.

Again, all of this is entirely independant from either game's quality. Strike Force and Cstrike could be amazingly awesome or horrible games, but the fact of the matter is, cstrike is popular. Pulling a copy cat of the gameplay will not give you a subtantial piece of the pie. Finally, all of this is opinion, and I am under the distinct impression that only an original, and highly accessible idea will be what takes cstrike's crown as the majority's online game of choice.

Well CS killer this game isn't. I actually prefer CS to this thing. The game felt goofy, and just wasn't right. As far as the gameplay, its UT. With M16s and 9mm's. The aiming system that the paragraph in the other post mentioned is crap too.

I attribute this to a woeful misunderstanding on gamers' parts on what gameplay even is. What, when you play Raven Shield do the rain drops falling from the sky affect the path of your bullets? Can you not use flashbangs in winter levels because the metal of the canisters makes it too cold for you to throw them effectively unless you wear gloves?

2. By area, 25% of cs_office is outdoors; gameplay-wise, over half of it is outdoors, as a result of T and CT paths converging at at least 3 places outdoors.

3. There is not a single online FPS game that doesn't adhere to either the Die, Respawn Next Round or Die, Respawn, Die, Respawn pattern. Without further explanation as to why CS is boring because of this pattern (except the inference that you die very early in rounds due to either lack of skill or bad route planning) you insinuate that every multiplayer FPS game you've ever played is boring. And if that's true, who are you to be making authoritative statements on one game in the first place?

4. You're talking about something that happened in the past tense. As in, they fixed it, but you still don't like it because it existed in the first place. The fact that you still don't like the game because of bunny hopping, even though they fixed it years ago, means that you never disliked it because of the bunny hopping in the first place. Which makes even the mention of the bunny hopping ridiculously pointless in the first place, and it comes across as an attempt to rationalize even the most minor reasons why you might not like the game.

5. Being able...to see enemies bigger...does not aversely...affect...the gameplay...on small maps.

koreans treat gaming as a sport like we treat the NFL and NBA there's millions to be made there. they dont dominate the fps scene but i predict in the current future they probably will as they do with rts and mmorpgs games. you name it they own it. the europeans would come 2nd in that regard and the the rest of the world would come in a mediocre 3rd.

i'm just putting this in prospective how huge gaming is in korea. you're basically an idol or star in korea if you own at a certain "game".

pro-gaming is actually hip in korea hah go figure pretty cool tho getting paid to own. you cant deny that.

it was revolutionary in its day but how much cs can you play? lol.

i'll be the first to say cs:s pisses me off. like someone pointed out you can unload a barrage of bullets in someones back a feet away and still not kill him.

whatever, each to their own but i refuse to play a game so aggrovating as cs:s. i have never been so frustrated playing a game in my entire life lol. i can whine on and on about the games gameplay mechanics but why?

they have kept it like that forever and it seems the community doesnt mind at all. shrug, like i said each to their own. i'm just glad i got out after 6months of aggravation. plenty more games out there to occupy my time thank god to that.:)

Weather doesn't affect gameplay, but rather it goes with interactive enviroments and can affect the whole experience. I would like to see weather effects in a tactical FPS. How many ways must I put that? Fog, more night maps would all be great additions to any FPS that doesn't have such things. I don't hate CS because it doesn't have those things. CS:S should in my opinion have some of the things that other FPS's do have. Without bringing anything new to the table, its the same game. Just slightly prettier.

The fact that you can't go prone, and have no zoom is definately a gameplay issue. Those are features that I have come to like that are present in other games. Interactive enviroments are a gameplay issue. I think it adds something to a game. Again, how many ways do I have to spell that out for you? No a game doesn't have to have that to be fun. UT2004 doesn't and I enjoy that game very much. Its a very fast paced FPS and I like it. CS just isn't fun for me. I want a tactical FPS that has weather, more realistic damage, destructive enviroments and other things. CS I can forgive because its old and couldn't have had much of that. CS:S is a rehash of the same game from 1999 and has no excuse for not having the features of newer FPS's.

Never played that map. So I didn't know that. Again though, what's wrong with some eye candy and having interactive enviroments in a game?

I prefer the faster paced, die and then respawn rather then next round. Thats a personal preference. Yes I have been killed really quickly, and I hate waiting there when that happens. That isn't the norm, and doesn't happen all the time. So again its not because I suck at the game. I simply like faster paced games like UT2004.

It was fixed later. You missed my point. I'll make it clearer now. Its one of the many reasons I could never "get into" CS in the first place years ago.

finalgt said:
5. Being able...to see enemies bigger...does not aversely...affect...the gameplay...on small maps.

True. I see your point. Still I would like it included none the less. I just feel that when I play CS there are alot of things lacking. CS:S could have had so much more to it than it does. Instead its a remake of a game from 1999 that offers nothing new to the experience.

For a game designed to have a tactical FPS feel to it, the game isn't realistic and it fails to deliver in the genre it was intended for. I thought that years ago about CS and I think that now. Everyone says the game itself wasn't designed to be that way. Maybe it wasn't. However the genre that the game is designed around does by definition need to have those things in my opinion.

I don't particularly like games that attempt to have a realistic swat/military feel to them that fail to deliver on realism to such a large degree. Raven Shield and any of the Rainbow Six games do deliver much better in that reguard. When I found out about CS years ago, all I heard was "its so realistic" and things like "its a great tactical FPS" Something I found to be untrue when I played it.

Back when it was new, it was about as good as any game had to offer. I just at that time couldn't get into it. The game didn't do it for me. The same way other games don't do it for other people. It seems I've failed to explain myself here, but my opinion that CS sucks is valid in my mind. You can debate my reasons all you like. I don't like it. Never will. That's the bottom line.

I am dumbfounded that the target audience for the game hasn't asked for more than they get out of it. I am surprised they haven't lynched Valve for not bringing out a sequel to the game that has more to offer. I think CS:S is nothing but a dressed up version of a game that came out in 1999 and the game should have brought at least something new to the table. It didn't. I had high hopes that CS:S was going to be the tactical FPS I thought CS should have been in the first place. I was majorly dissapointed in it. I've been dissapointed by many of the so called "Tactical FPS" games that have come out between CS and CS:S. None of them have ever brought me everything I've desired in a FPS since I started playing them. CS and CS:S have failed by a larger degree than almost every other game to do just that as I've enjoyed most games like Raven Shield and others much more than I ever cared for CS.

Ummm...the CS community demanded that Source be the same gameplay as CS1.6 with minimal differences. Well Valve failed at that, but the point is that the community DOESN'T want all this new crap you want. Keep it simple, stupid. And that's exactly what 1.6 is, and what Source is compared to other games out.

The game is not made for you, ok. Don't play it. Simple as that. The gameplay doesn't appeal to you, that's fine, but it's unique, it's something that everyone else seems to enjoy.

Source has everything you just mentioned here... It's not simply a rehash, it does have weather(though minimal because everyone hates weather, including I), it does have ambiant sounds, it does have zoom on guys that have a damn scope(I don't understand this mentality that you can zoom 2x on EVERY gun...wtf) and it has destructive enviroments. Walls being litterred with bullet holes, boxes and stuff breaking up, and what not, etc.

CS is supposed to be minimalistic, that's why 1.6 is still the more popular of the 2 CS games.

Cs is so fucking gay........Ya lets play the same game for like 8 years. Good idea...Fuck the least they could do is make new maps and guns and vechicles......CHRISt. Worst game ever

I played FragOps up till Battlefield 2, now i could care less for FragOps... good to see that there is another MOD out for UT2004... but unfortuently, there are never enough servers up... even if I host my own on my company servers, they never fill up.

So back to BF2, cause people are all up in there and it's fun as hell.
