Oh, as for the popularity of this thread over the ThermalTake thread, I have to admit I only like the Tsunami cases, which do look like someone else's design. The "Gamer" cases look like crap.

Just my opinion!

It could also have something to do with the fact that the Coolermaster thread was started about 6 months before the Tt one... ;)

You know, I don't see anyone yelling that Silverstone copies CM with their case that looks even more like the Wavemaster than the Tsunami does. You people are biased.

It could have alot to do with throwing the word "gamer" on a case and thinking bright lights and plexi make a case look 'good.'

Call me biased when you understand what I'm talking about. Otherwise you're guessing and looking like a fool.

If you want examples of what I was talking about, cruise on over to xoxide and look at the ThermalTake cases. The Xaser line, including the beautiful DAMIERs are real gems.

The Armor cases look very famil.. oh sorry 'unique.'

The reason behind Silverstone copying is more the fact that the people who used to design the ATC CM cases moved on to start Silverstone. That's the reason behind it.

As for Tt, they copy almost every idea and sometimes improve upon it but most times add some "bling" to it or make it cheaper overall, from material quality to performance.

Would you guys stop friggin bashing Tt already? Everyone copies each other! Lian Li and the G5 cases, All those Cheiftec cases and the look alikes, I don't even know who started that...

I don't care if you've had bad experiances with Tt in the past (though a lot of people who bash them seem to just be jumping on the bandwagon), but they are awesome now. Great quality, and great customer support.

And yes, I do know that some of the CM design people moved to Silverstone.

Oh, I do really like CM too, awesome company.

/me dons flame suit.

Sadly, I think that's a total waste of a Coolermaster case. These things are coveted (I can't even find one, I've been looking for the old A.T.C. Coolermaster designed cases for months and months) because they are clean and elegant. The new Coolermasters are delightfully ugly, the old ones are rare and hard to find.

The giant chrome blue turbine intakes and the flames and everything just feel like a total mismatch to this case and I'm saddened to see them on there and the case gutted, as opposed to a more readily purchased flashier case that it would fit better with.

But it's your case. I'm just frustrated I can't find one, especially the old Praetorians.

nah I didnt have time to do a work log or anything, I took some other pics i didnt put up, but i'm not finished yet anyways, I just dont have alot of time to work on it with school and work, so someday I might get a chance to put something up,
I'm still trying to figure out how to get a front intake that doesnt come from the front of the case, but the 2 120mm over head fans seem to do a good job for airflow.

oh and thanks for the complement

ah i see......i dont think theres a way to get a nice intake w/o cutting up the clean and sexy front bezel

and zyklon.....nice case, how are you liking it and how are the temps with it?

its good i guess. the cpu and nb w\ slight overclock gets around 48C under load. hd's get pretty damn hot though because of the front cooling. but thats alright with the side fans.

I was thinking about making a duct the ran from the bottom of the front of the case then then turned the fan facing towards the back

luckily I was using tubing with thin walls, had I been using the tubing I used for my last build(the kind that is sold by dangerden and I believe most other pc stores) there is no way in hell it would have cleared the ram sink

needless to say I'm somewhat dissapointed they would sell these as 7800gtx compatible

I like what you did with the two front fans! How did you do it?

And how much did the Praetorian people here get their cases for?
looks lik he juss replaced the stock mesh with his own and replaced the plain black intakes for blue led fans

Looks like UV, because you can see the DFI boards misc. things in different colors.

I see you built your Stacker BTX style. I thought about doing mine that way but decided against it.

Anyway, what are the specs on that thing? I noticed it was dual CPU.

Dude, that's not a Wavemaster, it's a Compaq X Series chassis. (Same thing I know, but that one clearly says Compaq on it.) Is that the original mobo and CPU from the Compaq or was the whole thing gutted?

It doesn't look stock for sure. It's been modified a bunch from the look of it. Either that or it's a completely unfamiliar model. I am curious to know that thing's story.

For those that don't know about the Compaq X Series machines, they were Compaq's attempt to break into the same market as the Dell XPS series machines. They are all in those CoolerMaster Wavemaster style cases, with Asus motherboards typically (with a flashed BIOS that makes the POST screen say Compaq) and are all completely high performance off the shelf parts that you can buy anywhere. They charge an arm and a ball for them and load alot of BS software on them as you'd imagine they would.

ok heres the deal on the compaq. my whole goal for the computer was to blow peoples mind when they saw the compaq logo. im still using the cpu and optical drives that were original AMD64 3800+, everything else has been changed.

specs:
DFI lanparty sli-dr
1 gig cheap ram
7800GT video card
custom water cooled
custom case window and paint
2x 160 gig sata drives
600w psu

and yes these computer are generaly around the 1500-2000 price new, i work at comp usa where they are sold. one day it went discontinued and the price dropped to 700 so i snatched it up as a replacement to my old athlon xp 2800 computer. since ive bought it ive slowly upgraded everything in the cmputer to the best parts i can buy while still keeping the confusing compaq logo on the front. i name the rig CRAPAQ.
thanks for the interest and please post any suggestions at http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=965006
