The Coolermaster Gallery

Well few months ago I was lucky enough to buy a Cooler Master ATC111B-SX2 for a very modest price.

The price was due to the fact there were quite a few "problems" as in damage and missing parts. I have been doing various bits and pieces along the way while negotiating and awaiting spare parts from Cooler Master (Thanks to CM for the spare parts and to knud // elessar for making it happen!).

Yay the bits arrived today:

So the first thing on the agenda was the window panel which had a ruddy great scratch across it (or so the seller thought) and a load of stickers on it:

The stickers came off with ease, a little residue but nothing that cilit bang couldn't deal with, but the scratch? well i was all set on needing to get a new piece of perspex but on doing the fingernail test (always do the fingernail test to see how deep the scratch is) i was chuffed to find the scratch scratched off! so with a bit of soft cloth wrapped over my fingernail i worked away the scratch.

The case was missing drive bay blanks, PCI blanks and all thumb screws. Having removed all the other bits, i found there was no dust filters behind the mesh. So an empty shell which needed a good clean up and lots of foam & velcro pads removing. The velcro ones were pretty easy to just pull of with no residue left but the foam pads were a bit more challenging. You'll see one that i hadn't quite shifted at the time of the pitures:

My secret weapon in cleaning all the dirt dust and trapped daddy longlegs out was Cilit Bang (BANG! and the dirt was gone!) Cleaned the brushed alu surface nicely as well:

Now that all the bits from CM arrived it was time to get all the other bits together:

4 x Akasa Blue LED fans (all fans are speed adjustable using a controller, but the two for the front are adjustable independantly)
5 x 80mm fan grills
120mm x 80mm Dust filter
1 x I/O Shield (ok so it wont fit your mobo, but it finnishes it off)

Now it's time to remove the motherboard tray install Akasa fan with grill on front and back, pop the I/O shield in and the new PCI blanks with thumb screws:

Next up was installing the top blow hole fan and grill:

Then onto the front fans, with grills on the inside of the case:

Installation of the 5.25" bay blanks:

A new dust filter in the mesh and on it goes:

Sides back on and the new thumb screws in to secure:

One tenderly loved cared for and caressed back to good health ATC111b-SX2:

Nacho: What's the power consumption on that thing like?

To everyone else: do you set your servers to power down the hdd when inactive?

From the wall consumption? Good question, need to get a wattage meter. My whole room down here probably draws quite a bit. (2 desktops + 4 servers + netwok, so on)

Not from cooler master, Custom paint.. would run you about $150+ Not worth it unless it is for you.. To pay someone to do it for the intent to sell is a waste of money and time.."Wont get what you put init" Unless you have good friends who dont charge much..

average cost....materials would be about $50 to $75.... Labor about $100 ish... For a auto shop to do it.. Yes it can cost more.. pending what they charge.. I based that # ona flat rate ish 3 hrs...+ materials. Which is about what it would take to do.
That does not inc the time to dis-assemble it and re-assemble it..

Like the guy said above you can not buy it from CM.

I am the owner of those cases too. I did pay a company to paint them for me. But had alot of
trouble with them so.... I now since have developed the painting myself.

(also just the though this in there and explain a few things to [H] members and etc.)
When i first got on [H] and what not. I did not know crap about pcs and most likely had a few
people write me off. But... just know guys that things have changed for me and etc.I am not
the nOoB I once was or etc. So please forgive and pardon the old Tman. (know that this was
a little odd to many poeple reading this and etc. But there was a misunderstinding at first for
those of you who know what I mean)

I hate you anarchy! lol I only have one ATC-110 :(

I hate lots of people. I don't even have one ATC-110, or any ATC for that matter. Only a stacker and a Cavvy.

Nice collection overthere. Very hard to find now the casing Coolermaster ATCS. :D

Now we know who have them all!
Reminds me of the one, "Gotta catch 'em all!" :)

These imagaes are from a system that I am building to be displayed at E3 and Computex. When these pictures were taken I still had a couple of things to finish up.

Image1.jpg

There is now an 80mm red LED fan in the back with a red powder coated ran grill on each side. I am thinking about changing the 3, 80mm fans out with white ones.

Image2.jpg

Everything was powder coated including the heat sink cover.

Image3.jpg

The front now has some vinyl Cooler Master and ATI logos.

Image4.jpg

Image6.JPG

The system is finished now but I need to get some more pictures taken when I have time to set up for a photo shoot. I am also finishing up an Antec server case that is double wide and will be used for a quad sli, 4 opteron rig that I call the 4x4.

The fan grill at the bottom was just there so I didn't lose it. I made the 92mm blue LED fan from the Hyper 6+ red by drilling out all of the blue LEDs and soldering in red 5mm ones. Also, the PSU fan was replaced with a red 120mm. This PSU is getting replaced with a new Cooler Master version that is on the way here. After it arrives I will get it over to the powder coating company and then the case will be 100 complete.

whoa man, thats a neat comp you got there and i see you managed to fit the hyper 6+ in the narrow wavemaster, hows the clearance between the heatsink and side paneL?

your hard drives are in backwards...that's hardcore :p
how are those Cooler Master drive covers? I'm considereing getting a couple, are they of good quality and easy to put on?

yeah, i like how the backwards hard drives make the case look cleaner on the inside.

on those drive covers, they are made out of a fairly thick aluminum and were really easy to put on, id definately recommend them as they make the front of the case much more stealth looking.

Here is a pic of my wavemaster in all its ghetto glory....

Notice the custom air funnel.

neat, how about some more shots of the insides??
Hehe I would love to, except the inside shots I took crashed and burned with my storage HDD and now my digital camera is broken  I wanna cry. Basically it was just a plexi air duct designed to pass the heat from the pump out the back. It works fairly well too.

Did you cut a wave master in half and make a fish tank on the bottom? What the hell is that?

Nice Wavemasters. Ill post up some pics of my Centurion 5 when I get the motivation to :D

That's actually just a top door panel that I cut. I talked to the folks at coolermaster and they hooked me up with it. The rest I made from scratch.

http://www.nuclearferret.com/watercooling/watercooling2.html

the only difference from the pics to what it looks like now is that i've cleaned up all of the cables/tubing/wiring, and i'm running a dual-5 1/4" bay reservoir (instead of a single one).

the internals are getting a tad dated, and i'm gonna rebuild it later this summer. here's what's currently running:
amd athlon64 3000+ (754 pin-out) @ 2.4G
1G crucial ram
crucial 9800pro video card @ 437 core, 358 mem.
500G HD space
24" dell flatscreen
saitek gamer keyboard

its good to see someone else on these forums enjoys a good brew!
Ha I guess people would like my shot better if I had all my beer bottles in the background too.

Thats not even a glimmer of whats up there. I have over 350 different Micro and import brews up there. Only a handfull of major domestic beers like a Coors light Baseball bat bottle and a Zima Gold (not made anymore). No Miller, Bud, etc up there (Yuck)
And more then 3/4 are still full.I'll try and take some shots to share.

Looks cool but umm... Just out of curiosity, what's with the random fan grill at the bottom? Placeholder or...?

Very cool... Do you have connections over there or were you just lucky enough to talk to a friendly rep? ;)

Sapient, you should put real fishes in there. You never know when you'll be in the mood for sushi.
