Was able to get it into Windows at 533MHz FSB, but not stable. Should be able to get it solid at 2100 with some work. But 2090 was fairly easy and 475 was easy with no voltage tweaks IIRC......wrote it all up in the review... Thanks. Testing the ASUS Striker now.

Minor update, I bolded the changes: With the F7 bios, I could run at 4-4-4-12, where before it wasn't stable at any Cas 4 setting. And I raised it 1Mhz FSB, (9Mhz clock speed) just for kicks.

Bad news. It turns out I am going to have to start camping out for my PS3 tonight instead of
tomorrow, so I won't be able to update until Friday afternoon. I am really sorry about this but
there is really nothing I can do.

Please don't hate me. :(

Looking over the OCs with the newer revisions of the E6600 almost makes me want to go out and buy another one... 4.1ghz orthos stable at 1.6vcore /cry :( I can only get 3.57ghz at 1.6vcore. Very tempted to buy another but I must hold out till the quad cores drop in price.

I wish more people would post their E6700 and X6800 overclocks.
If anyting the board reflects what percentage of people who do buy a c2d buy a e6700 , so that said things are really good.

Exactly

Why spend all that extra money on an E67/68 when an E6600 will OC to the same levels

The only plus is being able to use the higher multi for easier ram settings :D

Has anyone noticed that it seems that the GA-965P-DS3 can only be stable up to 3.6ghz?? I can boot higher, but no matter what I do (9x410 or 8*460) with a wide range of Voltages nothing helpsto pass Orthos or Prim for more than 10minutes. Also, if you look at the table on the first page there are NO GA boards at the top. Actually I seem to have the highest score at 9x400 with my E6600. What gives???? Should I go to the ASUS to get to 3.7 or 3.8??? Temps aren't an issue yet (nor the voltage)!!! Frustrating!!

Nice observation.... I just noticed that as well. Humm I cant get anything over 3.58ghz orthos stable no matter how much I pump the volts as well. Very wierd I wonder what is holding the OC back, I never thought the gigabyte board could be the problem.

yah, I have spent the past week trying everything I could think of!! I was even able to boot at 3.78ghz and ran PCMark05 successfully, BUT unable to run ORTHOS nor Prim (my temp is ~65 under load and and I tried vcore from 1.38 up to 1.55)...

this board isnt that good , I have one and I cant get pass the same speeds you guys are getting, The p5w64-ws is a better overclocker than this board.

I've overclocked my e6600 to 2.8 on air cooling with a Zalman 9700.

When running dual Orthos @ 100% CPU usage I get a CPU temp of 54*C, this sounds high to me. What's the max safe temperature I can run this CPU at?

60*C seems to be the common consensus on a safe maximum temperature. You should not be getting that high on 2.8GHz, you should check your airflow in your case. Do you have a fan in the back of your case sucking out the air from the Zalman 9700? Is your Zalman set up in the correct direction?

I have the same cooler as you and I get a 58*C max temperature at 3.33GHz.

i'm not a newbie. i had a login before when it wasn't hardforums.com but obviously no longer works.

oh i put some copper HS on the 8 way phase power? on the motherboard. there are holes for additional HS, but nothing there so i put some on with super glue since the thermal tape sucked. gets me a couple more mhz. trying for 485 now....

I am a little confused. I thought the Xeons were on a 771 socket? and your mother board is a desktop 775 board??

Very nice results:)

Now look what you did! You have combined cooling methods. What am I supposed to call
your cooling method now? :p

"Water+LN2onRad" That won't fit.

"H20+LN2onRad" That won't fit.

I am just kidding. Is it ok if I just classify it as "Water"? You and I will know that you used the
LN2 on the radiator though.

that is a great chip man....1.45 vcore at 4ghz. i have to give mine around 1.62v or so to get it to boot at 4ghz. and 667x6, I didn't even think a FSB that high was possible.

Are you guys linking or unlinking your memory in the 680i EVGA board? I have standard DDR2800 Corsair Dominator memory. How are you guys achieving those speeds. I have clocked it up to 3.5 GHZ. I have water cooling from thermaltake.

Sorry for trivial question but I just got my e6400 in today. Haven't got everything running yet but will post my results when I do.

I don't see L631 week on the list for 6400. Is that newer? Any ideas of how much I might get with it on tuniq tower, crucial 10th anniv., eVGA 680i?

Hopefully I'll post my results in a few days.

There should be an update happening either tonight or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow. I am
going over to a friend's house to play Gears of War. We are going to play co-op and we are
gonna take down the last boss.
