I retrieve screen stable with that chip @3.5 ghz ( ran 24h orthos blend lol )

So list out the info please. Like I asked for in the first post of this thread.
Give me as much information as you can remember.

Exactly the same batch as Coolaler's one at xtremesystems .( 7 days older )

best oc so far to stress my cpu only.... i cant go any higher on my fsb... mobo holding me back, and i dont have any multiplier options so i'm stuck with this. i know my ram can get to 520, but anything at 500 and above doesnt boot. new board so it's expected, no updates available yet.

Strangely, my SuperPi score drops to 15.37 if I tighten the memory timing to it's default 5-5-5-15, but scores 15.016 with ram at 5-5-5-18 instead. Slightly looser timing gets a better score? But I had to tighten them up (timings were 5-6-6-20 by bios auto set) to this point to get the score as low as it is. But if I tighten them that last little bit to perfectly matching thier rating, they loose a tiny hair of performance. Oh well, a very minor issue and hardly worthy of mention. I'm just happy to be stable at this speed and able to enjoy it :D

I've been able to boot up to 4 Ghz on this setup, but it's no where near stable on this cooling ;)

Looks like you got a nice stepping. Wish I could get that hehe I pushed my e6600 with water all I could go at 3.55ghz at 1.575vcore. I could pump some more vcore through to get 3.6-3.7ghz but really not worth it.

Yeah, I consider myself pretty lucky with it.....would be a winner with water/subzero's I'm sure. 4Ghz took around 1.63 vCore from the experience with my chip, it wasn't 32M super pi stable, but that had more to do with north bridge cooling issues than anything else.

Hey, is the first page of this thread still being updated? Just curious. I added my submission a few days back and still haven't seen it in the list yet.

Why not making a difference between the 965P-DS3 and the -S3? The former supposedly overclock better so it would be interesting to see both stats.

Who told you that ???

The only difference between the two is the ethernet port so the S3 is the better buy unless you need 10-100-1000 lan speeds

Son of a BITCH! I had the feeling this might happen. I did not notice that the motherboard
you listed did not have the D in it. I bet I have made that mistake more than once. You will
see the correction in the next update.

If I have listed anyone else's motherboards incorrectly please let me know!

What's wrong with the GE port of my S3? ;)

Cool. I just wanted to say thanks for keeping such an nice database. This is really amazing here.

THANKS!!!

This has prolly been brought up, but why does a successful overclock only require 4 hours of testing? I've seen/run numerous rigs crash after that time period and a little tweaking/throttling often made them even 72 hour stable..

I'm sure you have a good reason for it, but until I read that part I was pretty excited about the Core 2, but now I am not sure what true overclocks I can expect to have..

Thnx for keeping this tread up, really helps at choosing the right PC parts for overclocking :)

Here's the longest I've had the patience for as I only have 1 rig built up. Probably outta get a notebook here soon.

jnmunsey's got a good point. Would you consider a 24+ hour heading in your database?

Stressing a CPU for 4 hours or more is still considered sufficient by many. Unless you fold
at 100% CPU utilization when your PC is idle, it is rare to have your CPU fully utilized for
over 4 hours in a row.

If you care to, you can download the database from the link I provide (the most up-to-date
link is always in post 1) and compile whatever lists or sorts that you like. I just ask that
you post them here and label them so that we know what we are looking at.
