The Altcoin Thread

Finally got my GTX670 and GTX690 to pull some good numbers with CUDAMiner. Have been having a hard time getting both cores to work nicely at the same time on the 690. I figured out I would have to run each core at a lower ram spec, since they share the ram, sort of...

I finally broke 1Mh/s... which doesn't sound like much, but for 3 Nvidia GPUs this seemed like the impossible years ago.... :D Thanks to CUDAMiner and the work Christian has done Nvidia cards are now in the playing field.

I reached some temps on air with the 690 that I'm not fond of, so I have since clocked it down, I have a waterblock sitting here waiting for it... Just been lazy . The 670 is on water though, so it rips. It's faster then one of the 690 GPUs...

Oh and just for Kicks... my computer is doing 700w...

Large nerdy info pic :p:

Cashed out my LTC at 20, probably should have waited but it is money in the bank now.

^^ Not a bad play. LTC hasn't been to $20 per in months.

Yeah not as good as it could have been most of my LTC was collected in the 22ish range but I will take it.

Hopefully since I sold it will be like 30 at the end of day for every one else.

so just yesterday before I cashed out my BTC over $700 I told my wife I think we should move $300 or so into LTC I have a feeling....

so I've got like 0 LTC

And rumor is Mt.Gox coming back with LTC too.

I'm not sure I'd call that a good thing. I think a final nail in the Gox coffin would be a long term move in the right direction for Bitcoin in general.

Gox needs to stay dead. Who the hell in their right mind would trust them again.

If anyone does go back to them, they deserve to lose all their money.

Heck their source code got leaked.

I just hope cryptsy is locked down a bit better than that.

so I've got like 0 LTC

There is a multi-coin pool that does conversion into LTC, I forget which one, but you could make some back in little time.

Difficulty is too high again for my tastes.

I used switchercoin for a while it will auto convert or hold at your option. I did pretty well during the doge craze there.

HashCows will convert to whatever altcoin you want.

Are you guys still sticking with Wafflepool? They've been pretty bad the last week or so. It looks like HashCows has been significantly more favorable.

Wafflepool guy made a post on why payments were lower a few days this week. Your choice.

Looks like graph is broke again, i use middlecoin.info for more accurate stats. I was on Waffle for a few days, it's more stable but i get more BTC from Middlecoin (even though it takes a few days to dump off the unexchanged sometimes).

I can second waffle being crap I've been in the 10Mh area with them all week and about .08/day on that so I'm not impressed at all. I'm actually considering going back to middlecoin

What we need is a multipool pool that auto-switches multicoin pools for maximum profitability. :D

hmmm it seems as if many altcoins have tanked
anyone know why? but btc went up

LTC to the moon!!!! BUY BUY!!

BTC China is now trading LTC

It's going to get huge.

Get huge? I think the news has already been priced in.

And LTC on Gox isn't going to be a big deal especially since the name Gox is now almost like a swear word. Besides that, I'm sure it will be a while before Gox is even back. They have bigger things to deal with right now than adding LTC to their currently non-existent exchange. They first have to come back with BTC.

Just a week after one of bitcoin's major exchanges, Mt.Gox, went offline—and then filed for bankruptcy—a bitcoin bank was forced to close after hackers stole 896 bitcoins, worth over $600,000.

The bitcoin bank Flexcoin posted a note on its site stating: "On March 2, 2014 Flexcoin was attacked and robbed of all coins in the hot wallet. ... As Flexcoin does not have the resources, assets, or otherwise to come back from this loss, we are closing our doors immediately.""

I'll be willing to bet that this is another case of internet nerd trying to start up a financial business and not having the first clue about all of the things that need to be focused on like... oh... security.

Yeah it drives me crazy when stuff like this happens and all I hear are people saying stuff like "BTC is too easy to steal to be taken seriously blah blah blah" and I think to myself, well yeah if I kept my USD life savings in my car and somebody breaks my window (my "security") I don't complain that USD is too easy to steal do I? Just because a few businesses aren't as careful with their HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS as they should be doesn't mean the entire system is flawed.

^ +1

The media will be embarrassed, one talking head at a time. Eventually, not a single one of the dolts will have the courage to say anything because it will be proven wrong. They have always been cowards, personal glory hounds, and acceptance seekers. Both "sides of the isle" apply.

Their credibility will die on the double edged sword that is Bitcoin.

Btw, tmb has had crappy payouts last couple days as well. It's not bad enough for me to switch, but it sounds like other multi pools are low as well.

Wow, this is sad. Coinwarz actually has LTC in the top 5. I understand that LTC's value has gone up, but that also means that every other alt coin is pretty much worth shit right now.

It certainly does look like the alt coin market is going to hell right now. :(
