TF2 Spy Update!

for hats to remain cool they need to be a ridiculously low random drop rate

ie: the black dragon whelp in WoW

Screw pandering to the masses. You want to give out things like hats for players? Give it to those that deserve it. Give them to those that play. Give it to those who ARE GOOD. Give rewards to players that WIN. Make them badges of skill.

Eh, it's not as bad as BattleField Heroes... I always laughed at people who actually spent real money on clothing that expired a month later in a BETA of a "free" game... -_-

Still annoying people care more about hat's and dumb weapons than actually playing / winning...

then why did you say "I can see people trading each other to get 8 of each heavy item"

I'm saying for example if you need 8 nataschas, 8 sandviches, and 8 KGB in your inventory box to trade in for just one heavy hat, then I can see why the trading system will be useful. That way people can trade other players to get more heavy items while other people need the other items.

Exactly, reward hats for skill and good play rather than making them a lottery. A player wearing a hat is then a marker for a quality player.

valve can't really tell how good a player is. stats can be just easily manipulated in achievement servers with bots.

Just do it by time played then. If someone has 200 hours as a spy, give him the fucking spy mask or whatever. 200 hours as heavy = helmet. It's not that difficult.

But if you base it on time then everyone will just go on idle servers.

I'm sure they could come up with something to check it against. Point being is they can come up with a system that's much less retarded and actually worthwhile.

My inventory is virtually full. What happens when it gets full, do you stop receiving items? I wonder if there is any point keeping all the items as I have all unlocks now thanks to the milestones. The only benefit I can now see is if you can trade dupe items for hats/attire.

I hate spies more every day. I love playing pyro more every day, especially when their team has 4 spies (class limits on servers I play on) and I have dominations on all 4!
