No - beta keys are all gone
no but growing. The Hard Clan died because nobody joined. But I'll gladly restart it if somebody else is gonna show up. Oh, and at retail relase Ill recreate it too.

If you played TA, the resource model and layout will be familiar. Its just getting used to the new units, abilities, and a few UI teweaks.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm down for a few millenia of asskicking in this game. Sign me up for the [H]clan when it's time.

When will it be coming to release? (AKA how much overtime do I need to work to afford the hardware to make it fly)
 
general concensus is end of jan/start of feb.
and your e1705 will be enough for it. Maybe not at native res, but plenty for lower resolutions. Got a spare monitor to go through?

So you think the Lappy is sufficient? TA lags on it ... with 30,000 units :D
 
If you could afford it you might swap to a C2D 2.1 or so, but the GPU, memory, etc should be fine.
Im kind've waiting on G80go chips, but the 7900gs aint bad at all.

Yeah, I've been eyeing the T7200 for a few months now. This is going to pretty much be the straw that breaks the camel's back :)

I may get a smaller LCD to run as a secondary. The TV was just a funny. Though playing TA on it is fucking awesome, especially with the 900W 5.1 surround system. Neighbors think I'm setting off pipe bombs. :p
 
This will probably be the only "rts" game I will buy in the next 5 years, seeings that TA was the only rts game I bought in the past 5 years. I am hoping this beta progresses quickly, all of this input has me waiting for the game to come out.

Ya'all better practice, I have a fast learning curve!

patching. As somebody mention on the GPG garage. More changes than 27 and 30 combined.

I like the new maps, there a blast much needed break from Fields of Isis :p. Arctic is a good 2v2 map that is tons of fun (no choke points on this map have to use a lot of strategy to defend your base from all sides.) Palms is my favorite new map it is a 3v3 10km x 10km map and its a blast. This map is my new favorite its fast paced good layout the right amount of mass and its has upto 3v3. 3 vs 3 on this map is extremely fun and definately a blast.

Im all patched but have yet to play the new maps. Hopefully my buddy will be around tonight so I have a chance to try em out.
 
i played a round a piece on each of the new maps, the six player one is ok but since you can pretty much only play 4v4 right now without serious issues it doesn't quite work out. isis is still by far the best map in my opinion.

I played a number of 3v3s without no problem on the new map. All the games were running smooth for me on palms with 6 players. It has more to do with who joins the game, if everyone that joins has a good system there will be no problems with lag.
 
Having played a solo sandbox game on each map, I think I open palms better than the other one. Better layout.

And random: why does building T2 artillery out range mobile T3 arty?

Theres a small band where the T3 heavy arty is inside its minimum, and T2 arty is outranged. T3 mobile should range about right there.
 
hehe i like artic refuge! soo fun!

I built a shielded artillery base on the hills above this guys base and rained pain down on him for the whole game! We are talking 14 artillery pieces. it was so funny, too bad i was cybran my artillery had no accuracy sdo it was hit and miss but its pretty funny to see 14 pieces going off one at a time and watching the explosions when i hit hehe :D

I ran out of time (was on my lunch break, so i loaded up my commander in a t2 transport with a steath generator, and flew into the other guys base (the one that wasnt under my artillery) and exploded him right in the middle. soo funny
 
That new crack only allows AI in multiplayer, it doesn't unlock skirmish. I'm hoping someone will release a full skirmish hack for 44 soon.

its a real pain trying to find 5 other people who can run the game well through gpgnet though, people join larger games when they can barely run 1v1 and everyone is screwed then

What I usually do is ask everyone who joins what there system specs are. If they dont answer or hesistant to answer I boot them out. If they dont have a decent system I ask them to leave, I say over 70% of the games are lag free by just asking if they have a good comp and filtering through people.

Hey, nullzero. Where do you live. If I ever cobble together the computer (or grab the laptop Im looking at) Itd be awesome to have a lan party with some supcom dual screen awesomeness...Anybody else is or planning on running some awesome hardware and dual screens on supcom?
 
New patch has a lot of unit balancing in it. However has a few bad bugs that need to get worked out regarding desyncs.

I currently have fairly decent rig, will be getting a quadcore in feb/march and deppending on how it looks on release ATi's R600 GPU, to replace my Core 2 duo E6600 and 2x HIS X1900XT's

using a 24" Dell 2407 at the moment which I am thinking of using as a secondery monitor and adding aother 24" or if money permits a 30" Dell 3007.

not to sure how much supcom benefits from faster read/write times on hdd's anyone? I am using 2x80gig seagate's in raid0 and loading even of the v3.8 is almost instant! I might try my raptor see how it fairs, would not expect much of a diffrence over raid0 tho.

Been playing the beta, and while it is a GREAT game, it still leaves me drooling for Command and Conquer 3 instead.

And this is not a slam against SupCom, just that while it is an awesome game, it is not the hype it has been played up to be, at least not in the current form it is in as a beta - which is pretty close to what you will get out of a retail store release.

I'm expecting C&C3 to be a lot more disappointing than SupCom. What I've played of the beta (haven't in a while, too much trouble to keep updated) is very much a better version of Total Annihilation, which is exactly what I've always expected it to be. My pessimism for C&C3 stems entirely from the fact that EA has their paws in it.
 
Supreme Commander is everything it was suppose to be as a follow up to TA. It stays true to that and adds more. The engine in Supcom is the best RTS engine made to date. The mods and user created content will really make supcom shine. On the multiplayer experience the game is close to being very well balanced and is very competitive, the netcode is done very well and has just a few glitches(beta). Lets not forget we are only seeing a small fraction of the content of supcom in the public beta. The retail version will have many more maps a great campaign mode that will be playable coop. Im looking forward to the Supreme Commander gold... C&C 3 screenshots and trailers have not impressed me at all yet. The graphics are ok not great, im hoping the netcode isnt anywhere close to what C&C Generals is...
