Steam Inventory Trading Thread

So I take it people were able to successfully trade on Steam ?

I tried a few times yesterday to trade with my daughter, but the network response was too slow and the trade window is time limited?! No luck here.

Did you try near the first hour of the day changeovers when the sale items changed? That usually was the worst time as steams webservers don't seem to be able to take much before nosediving. Anytime after that was usually fine after the first few days.
 
haha not me, I did not even try crafted my last 7 coal into a garbage coupon. Figured my odds were alot better for getting a valve game.

And to the poster above ya last night I traded almost everything I had. Sometimes your inventory lags and oddly some things like coupons were lagging longer than others. But overall it worked.

Here is one of the guys who must have had alot going on. He claims he only has 1 account. The odd thing is he is only interested in trades for games. I mean I do not get what the angle is? He is just bored and filling up accounts, he seems to be a savy trader meaning he only does deals where he takes advantage of someone who is willing to give alot just to get a game they do not want but then what is he doing with all these games?

Pretty much the same. 5 million users, I figure each with a piece of coal. I completed 57 achievements. I figure, even if all of them were coal (which sadly, mostly what I got were useless coupons), that would give me less than 0.01% chance. At least with the achievements I got a return rate of 8% for games.

Granted, they weren't games I cared to play (all except one, which I had already purchased 2 days earlier when it was on sale), but outside the top few prizes, it's not like even had I been lucky to win anything would I have actually got anything I wanted either.

Had I been unethical, I could have cashed in on the humble bundle exploit. I mean, after all, my ISP gives me 2500 email accounts. That's practically 10000 chances at a game for all of $25. With my current game win ratio, that would have been 800 games...

Actually, no. We didn't try trading until a few days after that objective was posted. I don't know what the problem was, as other parts of Steam were working fine at the time.

As it turns out, it probably doesn't matter since the only real point in trading was to get another hunk of coal, and that turns out to have been pointless.
