you know what i wish? I wish we could hide this damn thread from everyone. it makes my feel depressed knowing that a ton of people are already playing it and having such a GOD DAMN GOOD TIME.
seriously. fuck you guys![]()
Yeah, I beat a protoss player that canon rushed me.. Blistering sands, I was at the 2 o clock position. He started building from the inside of the rock area (Backend) and built inward. I ran off with some scv's built a command center somewhere else. Waited till he started building in more and more.. lifted my orbital command and flew it off while I had units pumping and rushing his base.
He couldn't defend that attack and all he had were canons. He wouldn't say anything and waited for me to take out everything before he left. I made siege tanks, rofl.
whats the best way to counter zealot/stalker rush using terran? I can never keep up.
Heh. I just got promoted to 1v1 plat! Though I lost my first game in there.. barely. I always have problems in mirror match games. I had harassed him so well during the beginning and was ahead economically but unit wise, I got owned.
congrats, I see you're 15th too! Way to go pro.
Anyone wanna be really nice and spare an old guy a beta invite?![]()
Heads up all, check your accounts!
(I finally got in today)
What are people's thoughts on Mutalisks? I've been owned many times by them as Terran. Ive tried going all in on Vikings, leaving hardly nothing in terms of offense (vikings in ground mode get owned fairly quickly). I've tried Thors, but they are way too slow. Marines also arent as strong against Mutas as they were in SC1. By the time I get my units over to the Mutas, they just run away... Way too fast of movement speed! Anything I'm missing?
Thors, they own mutalisks hands down.

I only ever get hit with a ball of mutas on Fortress. Any other map as soon as I see the spire I attack, even if all you do it take out the spire. usually pretty weak defenses so they don't get too far.
Later on I just a put a few bunkers + turrets around your workers, then just attack his base. The more you focus on the harassment, the longer he keep you in your base and masses up. He'll fly back to his base as soon as the alert sounds. Your thors can clean them up there.
I just got a bet key from the facebook page giveaways. Sooooo, now then. I'm reinstalling the game to get rid of the ai crap. I'm ready for my face to get smashed now![]()
Yeah I just chose new player. Lost my first practice match then won the next. Skipped right to the placement and won my first one. Haven't done any more yet.
Don't worry about winning/losing at all yet, other than a way to gauge how effective build orders/strategies are. Just play lots like others have said and have a good time![]()
I figure this, get the losses out of the way now, and hope you're better by retail.
Fortress is a 2v2 map, so are you playing a custom game or 2v2 with muta balls?
I think he was referring to 1v1.. which is much different.
Ok I am trying to this figure out I am a Copper player and my last 10 matches have all been against 3 Bronze, 5 Silver and 2 Gold ranking players. (Not in that particular order) Some of these players are higher ranked too (Sub 30's). I have won most of em too lol...
Anyone else check out their opponents ranks after matches? I think you will be surprised.
Yeah, ranking system is bogus lots of the time. This is primarily because
1. they put speed of matchmaking over quality
2. placement matches are all played at the same time right after reset, fairly random placements as a result since tiers haven't been established.
Still, playing at your actual level is much better than getting crushed every game or getting away with too much.
