Game seems to just be called Star Trek. No pc release date but hey! you can get the 360 and ps3 versions april 23..........................

Anyway, the only reason I am posting is to show some sceenies from august 2012. They are interesting. No idea why there isn't anything new about the pc when these screenshots are obviously NOT of a crappy console. Pretty nice effects and models at least to my eyes.

EDIT: So, Green Man Gaming servers crapped out on me when I tried to purchase Star Trek, so I'm waiting until they are up again to see if the purchase went through. DARN YOU BIOSHOCK INFINITY PREORDER PEOPLE!

I absolutley agree, I am really surprised there have not been more good Star Trek games. I mean you had a few decent ones like Star Trek Armada (2001?) and the ST Elite Force games, but I really cannot think of a decent one since then. Most are pure shit.
 
Is it better than Aliens: Colonial Marines? (I'm still fracking pissed at that game cause I was really looking forward to it)
 
Actually from the Angry Joe rant it sounds like the game COULD be passable if they go in and smooth out all the bugs.

We'll just have to see. Not worth $50 in any case.

And yeah, I think the last (and maybe one of the only) good Star Trek game I remember was Elite Force 2.
 
Coop is disabled in the pc version. Console port and movie tie in. So yeah..........

Bargain bin buy and hope they patch it before it gets there.

SAD that neither Star Trek nor Star Wars or any other popular such series ever generate great games anymore. The jedi knight series was dope up to a point. Still, it has been years and things just get worse and further from the true flavor of the story.

Co-op isn't disabled, its just not working. Other than some of the weird bugs, its actually a fun game.
 
Game is average at best. I'm a couple hours in, and must be near the end.
 
Is it that fucking hard to make a decent star trek game these days? Just remake Elite Forces 1 & 2 in HD and I will happily buy them again.

Any movie tie in games are usually crap especially one based on this abortion called a reboot. I know some of you love JJ Abrams but I absolutely hate what he has done to ST. I'll wait until they patch this into a working state and wait for 5 dollar steam sale.

Oh and the Gorn are lame in any universe. Even JJ's.

For whatever reason, it seems they only license the Star Trek IP to stupid developers. You'd think that they'd find someone good to license it to, but no, reliably when a ST game comes out, it sucks because the developer does a crap job. Been like that way for far too lon and shows no signs of changing.

It goes to the company willing to pay the most for it and from there the publisher makes the game for the least amount possible.
 
Major problem with that philosophy is that they spend so much money getting the IP that they don't have any money to put into development. Look at Star Trek Online, the first studio got the licence, but said it would take longer to develop a quality game, Cryptic said they could do it in the time and the game took about 2 years after release to really become a quality game. Only in the last year has STO actually become a really nice game with tons of content, but even they had to figure out a way to supplement their income.
 
Oh hell ya, I played B5 Wars, almost the exact same rule set.
 
Patch released tonight that supposedly fixes co-op and some other bugs.
 
Not surprising, but this game really is awful. Monotonous combat, horribly weak story, and bugs up the asshole. Warning: do not touch, even with a gigantic stick
 
They should just give us Bridge Commander with upgraded graphics and set in Kirk timeline :)
