Awesome shots speedy. Cordon looks much better than in the first game mostly due to new weather effects.

Awesome, Cordon looks like it has the same layout, although it looks like a lot of the models have been revamped (and everything on a whole looks even better). Man I can't wait to play this game, 5 days leftAdd more pics of a sunset/storm, the pics visuals look amazing IMO http://tinypic.com/useralbum.php?ua=...%2FCqWCg%3D%3D
It loads one core fully and about 25% of the second one.
Also this game is pretty hard to configure for optimum perf/best iq ratio. On my lone 4870, the fps ranges from 20-70 depending on the time of day and the amount of fancy lighting the game has to do. I suppose you could just turn down the lighting settings but it makes everything look so flat and boring.
Edit: Actually changing from the "improved dynamic lighting" to "full dynamic lighting" setting (basically highest to 2nd highest) greatly improves fps (min 35 vs 15 before) while still retaining a lot of the image quality. Maxing out all the other settings doesnt seem to have much effect at all.
The 4 lighting options on mine are
Static Lighting
Full Dynamic Lighting
Full Lighting
Full Lighting DX10
in that order, so i believe thats the order from Min. to Max. When i play im using Full Lighting DX10 and thats the settings in which my screenshots are taken with.
DX8
DX9
DX9
DX10
In the original the lower DX9 mode was called Objects Dynamic Lightning (I think).
Is improved/highest mode really dx10? Because I'm on xp and I still noticed that it looks better and runs a solid 20 fps slower than the 2nd highest mode.
Framerate is all over the place tho. In the camp in the beginning where the sun rises and shines thru all the cracks and stuff is where the framerate is at the lowest. Later on in the day it goes much higher.
My specs are 1920x1200, cd2 at 3.6, 2 gigs ddr2, blah blah blah
I also tried to force AA and AF on the game thru CCC but it doesnt seem to work. Theres no performance hit and all the jaggies are still there.
Just sacrifice a few settings, Jesus I have never seen so many freaking out about not being able to run the game at totally unesassary settings. It's called the options menu and you need to make a couple of so called "sacrifices"
Does deferred rendering even support AA? Just because you can force it doesn't mean it's true FSAA. Either that, it might not be able to be forced on shadows. Another thing to look at is what is the resolution of the shadow as well (low res shadows, even with AA, would still look jagged). One thing i noticed though, which isnt often, just happens once in a while, is that lets say the sun is shining through a door and the door casts a shadow. Even though the door has no jaggies what so ever, the shadow may have some jaggies. Which makes me think how does the door have the AA applied to it and has no jaggies, while the shadow does. Anyone know why, or is it just a bug that will be fixed in an update, which i completely understand since the game still hasnt been released in the US yet and it might get patched haha.

In DX9 mode, it does not support hardware AA, but DX10 mode fixes that.
Reccomended 4GB of RAM?
Does a PC game seriously use this much memory?
Clear Sky plays beautifully on an 8800 GTS 512 on "Full lighting".Clear Sky is my benchmark for begging for a new video card. If my 8800GTX can't handle it I'm doomed because there is no way I can spend 500 dollars a top a of line card this time around. the ATI x2 looks amazing either that or I see SLI 260s but again, I won't get to spend that much. Sigh,
