Isn't the game out in Russia? My grandpa is about to fly over for a month and I may ask him to pick it up for me.
Nope, going to be out on the 5th like was planned with N/A and europe, but the russian version has already been pirated and cracked.
hmm, don't give me any ideas.![]()

Crysis is the best looking game on the planet...undisputed. I am not a huge fan...I think it's fun and all that but not amazing, but the graphics are. It's just the truth. On high/very high Crysis is amazing. Stalker is dull.
With full dynamic lighting even the base STALKER looks stunning on indoor scenes while outside looks pretty dull. Crysis and STALKER are complete opposites. On high and/or very high settings Crysis is stunning outside but almost laughable looking on most indoor scenes especially all the huts.

1280x1024 on a 4870x2? to be honest whatever framerates you are getting at that res with a 4870x2 you would easily still get at 1680x1050 and 1920xx1200.well after an hour of messing around and installing/uninstalling I finally got Clear Sky updated to the latest version and running. First thing I did was raise all settings to max, which is full dynamic dx10 lighting, max detail, max in game aa(not forced through CCC) , etc. and I got to say it was stunning. My specs r in the sig and I'm currently at 1280 x 1024 but in the 30 seconds I played, which was indoors I avg'd between 45-50 frames, and that was while barely moving. But I'm going to bed right now so tomm I'll run some benches with it and take some screens![]()

This is just to make you upgrade, its a business. Developers get money, video card companies get sales, you scratch my back, i scratch your back.

I love how people get all pissed off, when a brand new game, that they don't even own, that when fully maxed out doesn't run at anything under 60 fps on a 8800GS. ITS A PC GAME! its called the options menu, turn shit down. No one here I don't think is a game developer, yet they know the difference between something that is "optimized" and something that isn't. As I stated earlier, this game uses deferred rendering as opposed to forward rendering as with crysis and pretty much everything else. The upside is better lightinng, the downside is a higher fillrate requirement, and no hardware AA unless using DX10.
Not every game is half life 2 and had 20+ million dollars to spend on its development, you guys need to chill.
You serious? 45-50 fps in the starting village, *everything* maxed? If so then I've no choice but to get a X2.
That's pretty amazing. From what I saw on reviews the 4870X2 shouldn't have that much higher fps than the GX2.
Right... In Stalker?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a fantastic game and I'm looking forward to this game... However, based on what I've read so far, I'm going to wait for some reviews and patches then the game should be fine... Hopefully.
Just Re-Uploaded All the Screenshots so people can see them! Also, the screenshots don't look as good as they they do in game, but they're still not bad

LOL, I like how you included all the periods in the name. I think the developers put them in on purpose to piss off all the media that cover the game (if that wasn't their intention it still had that effect).
Wouldn't have any shots in high resolution would you?
if u click the pics like 8x they open up to 1280 x 1024, but higher than that, not right now, since i didnt get my new monitor, ill see later if i can hook it up to a plasma and get some shots at 1920 x 1080, but atm, no sry
And it sux since i can basically only take some shots in the village since i have no idea what to at the tower out side the village to advance since its all in russian....
The text is in Russian? If you can send pics of it I can translate.
ok, and like on the pda it sets this marker for this tower, and after i get there, theres a guy who i cant talk to and theres nothing i can do, but ill take a screenshot for ya!
I wouldn't be surprised if that's a bug in the game. I had stuff like that happen to me in the original STALKER (heck, just had it happen like 30 mins ago). But go ahead and take a few shots so I can see what you're supposed to do.
How come that menu is in english? The english version is not out till the 15th.
But those gfx look really nice.
