Hey guys, as you might have possible known Crysis 3 is just around the corner, just three days to release. Is anybody exited about the release and expecting something amazing from the game just like the first game or too bored to even consider buying it because of the disappointing second iteration? Share your comments guys on what you expect from the game in terms of Gameplay and Graphics and how you think the game should be.... Please share your comment about the Seven wonders series now that it has concluded with its last episode and any hardware upgrades you have done recently to your rig just for this game.

ugh I spose I need to sit down and play the second turd. isn't there some graphics fix I need to install?

Don't care enough to buy or even pirate it. Tried the beta which was close to terrible imo. Single payer is going go suck even more. Game for noobs.

In reply to OP:

I'm definitely looking forward to Crysis 3, I'm pretty excited for it.

I enjoyed Crysis 1 and 2, I have to say I enjoyed the latter even more although the first one had the best graphics.

Haven't watched much of the Seven Wonder video's as I want to see as little of the game as possible. I liked what I did see though.

My computer is in sig, haven't made any changes for two years. The GTX 560 still seems to fall within the recommended specs, and I play at a low resolution so an upgrade may not be necessary just yet.

I hope Crysis 3 will blend the action of Crysis 2 with the more open, larger environments from Crysis 1.

Too sad, I liked the Beta especially Hunter Mode, although I did not hide in a bush all the time as a Cell operative while playing :D.....

Could never get through Crysis 2 due to game-stopping bugs. I wanted to but it was just too fucked up.

Really sad so many people have the same bad opinion about the Crysis series, I really liked both games although the second was a huge dip compared to the first. I really feel Crysis 3 will bring back the golden days of the first both in terms of graphics and gameplay, art direction etc.... we just have to overlook the flaws in the second game and move on ;)!...

I feel exactly the opposite. Crysis 1 felt like a bait and switch to me. Crytek promised a hell of a lot and never delivered. On top of that, the actual game was not great. Everything prior to the alien ship was pretty good, they offered a lot of options for how to approach each situation and the island was a nice environment to fight on. That said, the whole freedom to explore thing might as well have not been there. There is no purpose to going anywhere but straight down the line the game wants you to go. It's an illusion of freedom.

Everything after the alien ship (the ship was neat but really poorly laid out) was crap. The alien AI was beyond terrible. The game stripped away all freedom of picking how to approach a fight. It turned into a pretty generic corridor shooter. It had a far too long and very fucking annoying escort mission. The tank mission and the VTOL mission changed the pace a bit but they were just corridor vehicle sections. Giving the enemies suits like yours should have made for some good and creative fights, but it didn't. The final level and final boss were a god damn mess and pretty disappointing. The ending was Halo 2 level of bad.

As for Crysis 2, I felt it kept it's tone and pacing well enough. It offered some good, open, battle areas to replicate the freedom from the first half of the first game and the aliens were actually a bit more of a threat and had more than one attack routine. It didn't waste time on a false impression that it wasn't a linear shooter and it removed the entirely pointless (though occasionally hilarious) destruction mechanic that wasn't even able to match the first Red Faction.

Nope....5 HR campaign, terrible multiplayer and too many games worth my time in the foreseeable future

average user will take 8-10 hours. So its basically normal.

I liked 1, wasnt bad.
I hated 2, was terrible.

3, looks promising.

And the beta wasnt bad AT ALL.

Looks like they polished alot of the crap issues that 2 had. So now its not a diahrea turd, its now polished turd!

So when will we start hearing about Crysis 2014 and Crysis 2015.. You know, I when this becomes a yearly shitty franchise like Nba And Madden.

I can say I'm more excited just to see the graphics. Other than that I don't really care based on what I've seen of story and game play. Seems like more of the same from Crysis 2...just better graphics this time around.

Haven't played the demo but i'm looking forward to it (especially since it came free with a 7970). Wasn't a huge fan of Crysis 2 but with good hardware i'm looking forward to playing it in 1440p. Cryengine 3 intrigued me for a little bit there but i don't think i'll see anything groundbreaking. More excited about Bioshock Infinite tbh.

Trying to polish diarrhea is messy business... I wouldn't be surprised if this game just falls apart completely.

IMO the graphics/scenery looks pretty cool in places, so props to them for that.

Looks much better than C2 (as in fun as well as graphics)
Beta wasn't bad. Pretty good balance while still being diverse. I might even play the multiplayer with this one.

Pre ordered.

Not a bit. The first game had great graphics, fairly entertaining gameplay, and while not open world,it still had more freedom than your standard FPS. After that they dumbed down the engine for the consoles, went to the same tired old linear gameplay every console shooter uses, and chose the most annoying and unlikeable character from the original as the protagonist.

Looking forward to it. Got it free with the AMD bundle. Plus the MP beta was pretty fun. Can't be worse than COD

one of the few games I have no regrets about pre-ordering...yes I'm a graphics whore...I do hear the game is pretty good as well

Aside from the graphics, the Crysis series is a fairly generic, derivative FPS with a gimmicky suit mechanic. Not interested in the slightest

I really hope it lives up to what people are expecting from the graphics. It would be nice to have a new graphical showcase title.

I tried, so very hard, to play through Crysis. But by the time that freaking helicopter mission came about I just gave up on it. The suit was... interesting, albeit controlled in a very wonky manner. But the vehicle scenes were just atrocious with absolutely horrible controls and vehicles that seemed more like crates of dynamite on wheels than vehicles. Yeah, it was better than some games and it was fun to watch my 8800 GTX soil itself when it was destroying everything else out at the time. But, gameplay just never has been an appealing aspect of any of Crytek's games. I skipped 2 and am planning the same for 3.

I enjoyed Crysis and Crysis Warhead for the most part (Loved it up until the Alien invasion) but Crysis 2 was a turd. I'll probably wait until Crysis 3 is heavily discounted before trying it.

Triple A games just don't do it for me these days. Maybe I'm getting old but the real interesting games seem to be coming from places other than EA/Activision/Ubisoft etc.

I liked them all so far. Pre-ordered and already loaded it.
I've replayed C1/2 probably 3-4 times each now and then. I've paid more money for things I've gotten less amusement out of *shrug*.

I played the beta quite a bit... but I don't know. I need a good multiplayer game and after level capping BF3 and around 800+ hours on it I need to move on to something else.

I'm looking forward to it, but I won't pay $59.99 for it.

The first one was worth the $60 I paid (massive SP and MP maps, fairly non linear pathing, cutting edge visuals) but Crysis 2 at release was somewhat of a disappointment for me. Map size was cut right down and getting to the objectives was mainly single path only. Dx9 visuals didn't help much either at release.

That said, I still enjoyed Crysis 2, but nowhere near as much as the original.

$39.99 and i'll bite on Crysis 3

Crysis 1 and WH were good. Crysis 2 was a turd, mostly because of the load bug that I could never get around. Maybe it was good, but couldn't get through.

No interest in C3. Far Cry 3...now, that is a different story, That game is fun. Surprise of the year for me.
