Has anyone heard about this game? I just read a few articles and watched a video about it. It looks pretty good. I love games like Sniper Elite. I wish there were more "hardcore" games involving snipers and the mechanics involved. The graphics almost look Cry-Engine-ish (Actually, it looks like there are some textures/models from Crysis). Although it is from City Interactive, looks to be somewhat promising. I am definitely subscribed. Coming out for PC and X360

***EDIT***

New trailers, do not show promising gameplay. Hopefully not a real representation of full game. Read below. (issues with gameplay mechanics, semi-accurate marksmen methods and tactics)

I've never heard of city interactive, but the game looks interesting. I wonder how they'll handle multiplayer.

Yeah, they haven't made many big splashes. Here is their PC games list, I have only played a few titles. Sniper : The Art of Victory wasnt very good :(

Combat Wings: Battle of Britain
Beauty Factory
Battlestrike: Force of Resistance
Art of Murder: FBI Confidential
Sniper: Art of Victory
Code of Honor 2: Conspiracy Island
SAS: Secure Tomorrow
Art of Murder: Hunt for the Puppeteer
Chronicles of Mistery: The Scorpio Ritual
Armed Forces corp
Battlestrike: Western & Eastern Front All in One
Brain College: Ancient Quest of Saqqarah
Terrorist Takedown 2
Code of Honor 3: Desperate Measures
Brain College: The Mystery of the Mary Celeste
Code of Honor: Compilation
Chronicles of Mystery: The Tree of Life
Art of Murder: Cards of Destiny
Aquatica: The Sunken City

Hmm none of those games sound familiar. It would be interesting to see an indepth sniper game though. Looking forward to some more info.

sniper elite was interesting. not great but it was decent. I think it was available on steam for a couple of bucks about a month ago.

Game is going to be fail, seeing as it's on the 360 as well. So expect a crappy PC port.

How can you watch that trailer and think of Multiplayer at all? Honestly... lol. I mean, what, is multiplayer just going to be a bunch of campers waiting around for others to move around a sandbox level? I wouldn't buy or consider this game at all if you're wanting a multiplayer experience. This seems strictly single player to me.

trailer looks pretty good, and as for the previous titles they've done,
I've seen them at gamestop at <$20 most of the time.

Well at least you weren't quick at making a decision there. Move along to the next thread to crap in.

Back on topic, the trailer was pretty good, but I would have liked to see a little bit of game play rather than opening events. Oh well, I'm going to keep this title in mind and check back often to see what's up with it. I like to see unknown game studios come out of the woodwork with stuff like this.

Sadly, the odds overwhelmingly favor this outcome but I sincerely hope not. This has some potential and is worth keeping an eye on.

I remember seeing Tom Clancy on Charlie Rose, he was explaining how simple it would be to kill Saddam Hussein - the problem, he said, was in finding him, and knowing exactly where he would be. If you knew where he was, said Clancy, then you could position a sniper seven miles away and have him aim an infra-red beam at the window of the room in which Saddam was staying - then a missile could be fired from a destroyer parked somewhere in the Arabian Sea, which would take out that entire part of the building. Stuff like that might be kind of fun to do. I think that this might be a tricky game to pull off though? I'm a bit of a whore when it comes to gaming - I'm down for almost anything.

They seem to really enjoy subtitling.

Yes they do, and I didn't even list the console and DS games they have made!

I actually think an online sniping game would be fun. I would like it if it included mil-sim tactics and requrements when taking on the role of triggermen. I love playing with a friend on coms, working together as a team helping each other spot on the battlefield series...only when defending that is ;)

Tom Clancy is awesome, too bad Ubi isn't doing so well anymore...

Well the low bit rate videos look good enough but City Interactive and good games dont come to mind (though that could just be from a small marketing budget). With the game being on the 360 I wouldn't put hopes in the pc version having higher DirectX features or advanced pc specific options though I could be wrong (hopefully).

As for multiplayer, I could see myself playing it, if it was decent enough.

Looks a bit generic.

From the looks of it, they've made sniping games before. Why then, in the trailer, is the sniper firing from his knee?

Why is there an audible gunshot when the rifle appears to be silenced?

Hit effects looked unsatisfying as well. I wish someone would create a new Soldier of Fortune location based damage gore system.

I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm not optimistic.

A suppressor muffles the sound, doesn't stop it completely.

What i have a problem with is the actual sniping. Has the developer actually fired a scoped rifle? That's how most games do it, but it's not right.

You don't put your eye on the damn scope. The only game that I know of that did scopes decently is Red Orchestra.

IE - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aad6xdpwrC8

Why can't more developers do it like that? Makes things look and work a lot better imo. Doesn't give you that "tunnel" vision.

Always wondered the same thing. ^^^^ You would have a serious headache after firing a .308 with your eye in the scope.

Not very satisfied on how fast the sniper just instantly fired on the targets. No wind and altitude adjustments, just point at target and fire.

I wish someone would create a new Soldier of Fortune, period. The first two games were great, shame they ruined the series with Payback.

Oh for heavens sake....

You didn't know this? The new 2010 silencers actually remove all sound mediums from around you. Milliseconds before the trigger is fired, it is triggered from your body energy to place you in a vacuum temporarily.

More fuss on this one it looks great! Im gonna buy it now and see whats up. It probably not even going to run on my rig but f it

Game looks good, looking forward to it, only bummer I spotted thus far is that it's limited to 8 players in multiplayer.

I finally got a chance to spend some time with the demo on the PC. For $30 this ain't bad at all. I'm actually impressed. I wouldn't mind being able to fix the FOV a little bit but other than that...I like it!

Yeah, definitely going to pick this up for the $30, will be easy to resell for like $15 or so at a garage sale as well, that crowd digs gun games. No Steam download for me on this one, retail copy all the way.

I haven't heard of this one. Looks pretty decent and looks like it might be CryEngine. Kinda looks like what Far Cry 2 should have been..... It still pisses me off what they did to Far Cry with Far Cry 2. On another rant, I'm afraid they are about to fuck up Crysis from looking at the trailers. New York City - WTF......

Going to DL the demo to this game now.

lol, "fuck up crysis?" you mean "worse?"

but enjoying this game (S:GW). SP is pretty solid.

I checked the demo out and while it's fun I will wait till this is $15 or so.
The FOV isn't actually a problem for me but one thing I found annoying is that the environment is "fake" in places. What I mean by that is that if you come across the fence in the demo (fence/wall), you can't jump over it. You can jump onto the fence, but not down on the other end. Instead you are forced to follow that fence along and go around instead of over. I didn't make it to the lighthouse yet, kind of lost interest at that point.

Will be a good game to grab on sale.

that's one way to play it. you can still kill enemies as long as nobody sees the actual killing and you stay out of their line of sight or kill them first before they can give the alarm. Its fairly tricky as they will go on alert, however some will not show up on the radar.

After putting about 3 or 4 hours into this game last night, I would say save your money until it's on sale for $10. There have been too many times where I unloaded a clip of small bursts into an enemy and did no damage because the game deemed he was hidden by cover when he really wasn't. Both the recoil and hit registration with assault rilfes feel really weak. I must admit though, the Bullet Cam effect is done really well and I'll never get tired of it.

eh, I didn't really see that. Also the enemies have the same problem. but there are only a few areas with close combat.

I don't know why you think it is Cryengine, it's not even close. It's the Call of Juarez Chrome Engine 4.

Until somebody comes up with an FOV fix for this game, I won't be trying it again. I deleted the demo after the first hour because it made me physically ill. I need at least 75-80° FOV.

I have had trouble playing the game. The first time I fired it up all I could see was my HUD, everything else was giant triangles flashing all around me. The second time I tried the game worked fine and I played for about 20 minutes. I have not successfully been able to play since.

I've tried disabling Crossfire, disabling PhysX on my 9800, running it in XP SP3 mode, lowering the game settings and rebooting. Nothing helped. Until it is patched or ATI addresses the issue via drivers, I think I'm hosed.

This and the FOV are why I'm going to take a pass for now. Even at $30. There's needless frustrations in the wrong way and wrong time that have nothing to do with healthy challenge, which I like.
