I'm afraid of leaving the game...
And loosing all my progress again.
Does anyone knows if they fixed this damn thing ?
If I come back tomorrow just to see the "new game" tab I'l probably punch my monitor.
Should I leave the game open all night ?

Obviously some people are having an issue and clearly others aren't.

That is a strange review. I have had no bugs so far and I am 14 hours into the game. I am really liking it myself. Prefer it much over Wildlands which I just uninstalled yesterday.

Chances are if I pull the trigger on this it's going to be your fault that I do. ;)

EDIT: Screw it, I'm in. I'll be manually backing my save up right away as well.

Hey man, it takes all sorts... for as much as I am liking the game I am sure there are 10 others who hate it. But for me, it's a sleeper hit. The story is forgettable and half the time I don't know what's going on, but the main thing about it I like is the stealth stuff and gameplay itself. I put well over 100 hours into MGS 5 and have always been a stealth/action game fan so this particular game really scratches that itch for me. The weapon mods, unlocks, movement, drone, silencers... all that James Bond stuff I love. Don't go expecting anything perfect by any means, but if you like sneaking around with silenced weapons and sniping then you'll like the game. Initial load times are kinda long, but fast travel times for me are super short which is something they addressed directly.

That sounds good to me.

You're singing from the same hymnal I am and especially with that MGS5 love. Heck I even fired up Splinter Cell Blacklist last night because I needed a fix. ;)

I liked GR Wildlands quite a bit and that's been slagged in a lot of places so barring something insane I suspect I'll enjoy this for what it is.

So far, so good. I went through the Prologue, got into the main story and started working the first mission you get after hitting the first safe house.

Barring glitches I have to say I'm pretty damned impressed all the way around and especially for the price range this can be fetched at even with the Season Pass no less. It's a hell of a value.

The "detective/focus" vision concept where you analyze and follow clues is indeed Witcher 3 like (and other games.) This game has a nice mix of Sniper Elite, Far Cry, looser controls but essentially the same kind of drones we've been in seeing in Clancy games, and likely some other things I haven't run into yet.

If they throw good support at this, this is easily going to be in dark horse of the year runnings.

Completely agree. It's a shame that a lot of people will likely pass this by because the other Sniper games were actually not that great and the reviews on Steam are mixed (which is confusing because people were leaving negative reviews the same day it released so they likely didn't play it long at all). I am happy with the responses so far from the Dev team thus far in addressing issues, and I agree that the game is a great value for what you get. I think I paid a little over $30 for mine, and for a season pass edition that is great. I am on hour 16 so far and there is still the fourth act to go and the "Lydia Escape" missions (unless that's upcoming DLC) so I definitely have gotten my money's worth so far.

I am enjoying the game a LOT. It is pretty much far cry style, but with weapons instead of "powers". For the save issue, the way saves work is that if you die in a mission it will take you back to the last fast travel. If you exit game and restart it will put you in the safe house. The missions then are restarted. Bases will respawn on reload. What does not respawn are cleared places of interest. Farcry games work the same way (mostly).

Yeah, there are bugs. The guy with invisible everything, yeah, that is a nasty one. I have not seen anything like that. A few crashes and slow initial loads, otherwise it has worked really well.

5 hours of gameplay and the only glitch I saw so far was a game freeze when I was sniping a bunch of enemies in some outpost. I was on a streak and in mid snipe and it froze.

I watch Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 game trailer it's really awesome. Anyone know about what specification this game need for playing in PC or Laptop?

just a warning, there appears to be a glitch after the labyrinth level (act 3) where people (like myself) lose their saved game and have only an option for new game.
So once you hit that point, back up your saved game folder, I think it is under c:\users\xxx\saved games\sniper..... or something like that.

System Requirements are at the bottom of every games page on Steam:

The game is on sale for $26 w/ the season pass here:

I got an itchy trigger finger & decided to play a few hours on Tuesday.

The opening scenes w/ the little brother in the woods & chopper chit-chat were corny, but they established the base of the story situation, even though the characters look kind of like Ken dolls...

The prologue mission was a good, basic tutorial that gave us the next story point - which is the motivation for all future missions - but it is odd that they only took one out of the two operators.

For my first hour, I did the prologue, tried every interactive thing in my home base and wondered why the bed was there (you are healed by sleeping) and then took on the first mission. I spent some time gawking at the scenery / landscape & marveling at the beauty of the CryEngine. I'm going to like this game!

I was taking really long shots & ran out of ammo, so I sneaked inside the church (it was a dark night), got shot up pretty bad, had to pick up an AK to run & gun and eventually died & had to start over & use the Batman style "detective mode" more until I found everything. To me, looting bodies & crafting crap is tedious.

Back @ my home base, I took a nap to heal & then "bought" ammo & a silencer for the AK (did not notice the repair system for my other weapons). I also realized you don't need the workbench or weapons case - you can do it all from the laptop / tablet because you have access to all the various tabs right there (IIRC).

I took the next mission they gave me & started heading North, but also stopped at every (?) so it took forever to get up there!

I stopped at the fast travel / sign post just before the mission started & decided to tackle that on Wednesday....

Starting fresh on WED, I tried the drone, found everyone's location & tried to pick them off from afar.

Bad decision for me. I had a broken / dilapidated silencer & got swarmed. Fixed that & went back, but decided to go in for some close up work. Good decision because you have to sneak into the building to get this missions bad guy...

Anyway, at this point, I've got the "hang of it" and know that I need to use the drone more and (as usual) take out the easy guys on overwatch (sniper towers, rooftops) and then sneak in for melee & pistol snipes until you get to the objective (ie: turn off 3 satellite dishes).

Oh yeah! Met the blonde chick... I'm going to enjoy this!

I have 6 hours into it now & know that I will get my money's worth.

I'm probably weird, but I look at "getting my money's worth" as a dollar per hour thing.

If I pay $30 for a game, I want 15~30 hours of entertainment - so it works out to $1~2 per hour.
This game is a bargain for me @ $30 + I love sniper games!

PS: I tried to be intentionally vague on some things here so I didn't have to use the spoiler tool...

I have to say I'm impressed as hell with this game all told.

I'm sure if I start hitting bug and glitch city my attitude will change but assuming the solid post release support continues.. I think these guys figured out how to make a good game "the third time is the charm."

I just got into this part of the quest that involves as assassination at this wedding and I was impressed with the entire setup.

I am very happy to see more games start to pick up on this "detective" mechanic that Witcher 3 and arguably AC: Syndicate and some others have done well.

Silencers do wear out. Honestly? Have repair kits on you or use a trainer to negate that nonsense. That's what I do. ;)

The drones. The controls are looser than what we've seen in Ubisoft titles like Watch Dogs 2 and Ghost Recon Wildlands and especially once you start zooming the camera in. Less is more.

I really have appreciated that I can play this game like Hitman, Far Cry, Sniper Elite and/or some mix of all of the above on a whim and like that wedding scenario there's some intrigue and some substance that is being developed in the plot and scenarios that I'm happy to see.

Production values are beautiful. The Crytek engine continues to be a winner. There's some really nice music in this. Serviceable voice acting.

9 hours of total gameplay and I only had that one glitch where the game froze on me. That's not a bad ratio so far.

I think this game even at GMG's $40 for the whole kit and kaboodle is pretty fair to say nothing about cheaper than that which brings it to "why the hell not" territory and especially if they continue to throw robust support at it.

This may be the Dark Horse of the Year and a "comeback from oblivion" story for a group of developers coming off those first two games to this. It doesn't reinvent any wheels but it takes properties from a number of favorited titles, mixes them together, and then puts their unique slants and sensitivities on it. There's a lot to like here for any FPS fans.

Just did 2 more hours (9 total) and just as I was about to complete the wedding mission the game crashed.
Sorry, I did not read or capture the error message (I was pissed). I'll run the game later & see if it saved my game.
EDIT: it saved my last checkpoint, so I only had to do a little over again...

Pretty much agree with everything you posted. Nvidia actually just released a new driver today that adds support for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 so I am curious how it helps the game. I purchased a a Ultrawide monitor the other day and I have to say this game really is beautifull especially at 34" at a 21:9 aspect ratio. Like I said before is scratches that stealth itch for me and am about 15 hours into it (took a couple days break) and am really liking it. I'm not even playing anything else at the moment. I do agree that zooming in with the drone is like zooming into the moon with a telescope from Earth... just moves all over the place... but other than that I have had no crashes and no issues so far.

So I am getting a really annoying glitch 19 hours into the game. If I were to die, or if I were to manually select "Load Last Checkpoint" the game crashes. Even if I select "retry mission" it crashes. So now when I play I have to make sure I finish the mission without dying or else the game will certainly crash. Very annoying. I also noticed a couple other things; one being that the rock that you are supposed to have a infinite amount of always in your inventory sometimes just isn't there. It's not a option you can select from the weapon cache it's always supposed to be there. Another strange glitch is that the map sometimes doesn't show everything. Like I was in one of the world map/areas and there was a bounty target I wanted to kill, I failed, retried going back there but the map didn't have them shown anymore.

I really hope they fix this shit soon because it's frustrating that i've gone 19 hours into the game without issue to all of a sudden it having so many. It's like the further you get into the game the more issues there are. There are people on the Steam Forums for the game talking about losing their save games 20,30,40+ hours into the game. And I definitely don't want that happening so now I backup all my saves.

have you rebooted your computer recently? Not saying your computer is the problem, but they may be doing something strange with memory or APIs. I had an issue where the cursor would not go away, even on game restarts. A reboot solved the problem.

I just re-installed Windows 10 fresh today and it's doing the same thing. It's definitely the game.

Bummed to see your problem zamardii and I'll be on guard for something like that myself. I'm on Win7 64 but I doubt that will matter.

Just make sure you backup your savegames. More and more people complaining about losing theirs on Steam. Other than these problems I still really like the game, so I am chugging through it just have to make sure not to die. lol

Submit your save to the devs. They were in that thread and left information. They need to fix that ASAP.

Just had some 293 MB update download for the game. No idea what it is.

Have been using his program for 5 days now, works great. I have 56 hours in the game and have never lost a save and only one crash. A new patch came out today that removed the last patch that was causing alot of problems for some people.

That's awesome. I am really glad to see the developers staying on top of the game and listening to the community. I really love the game and am playing nothing else at this point. I really think they figured out a good formula for this game and I am looking forward to more in this series.

I might even go to Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 and give that a try after I beat 3.

#1 & #2 are not open world format. They also tend to be much harder than this one, reason being they have a lot of stealth sections where detection involves a retry. You also don't have the drone tagging so you get lots of death from unexpected directions.

It's a big step backwards. I've tried every game in this series and thought they all sucked until this one. It was like it took them three tries to learn how to make a good game or something.

Be warned.

Not looking good at the moment for people trying to save their games without knowledge of that program.

I finished the main story yesterday and *knocks on wood* nothing went wrong with my saves. Not sure what the differences are.

Have the devs been around lately? For a while I seeing some nice back and forth from at least one or a few of them out there.

I hope they will throw more support at this game. It deserves it. They have something good here.

Wow! That patch is 4.3 GB in size!

I have to take my hat off to these devs for communication and support. I hope after they have patched things and such that more DLC and content is coming.

People were hoping that this patch would bring their corrupted saves back to a New state but it didn't do anything.

I am excited to get back into it. The only thing I want them to REALLY fix is the ability to replay missions. Someone mentioned on the Steam discussions that that is coming, but it seems kind of silly that you can't replay anything once you have unlocked all the good stuff. I would prefer a New Game + mode so I can replay all the missions with my unlocked stuff, but just being able to replay missions will suffice if they can get that out. Which btw, I finally unlocked the ES-25 sniper rifle finally the other day and there was no bipod or silencer to unlock, but I am glad they fixed it with this update. Will test it tonight to see if it magically appears unlocked in my Weapon Cache.
